I recently purchased both the traditional Rosca de Reyes and a custom Rosca made of mini conchas, and I'm so glad I found this bakery. The sweet bread is made to perfection--soft, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The service was prompt, and the staff were courteous and attentive throughout my visit. Although I didn't try any of the regular baked goods this time, I definitely will in the future. I've been to other Mexican bakeries where the bread can be dry and just okay, but that is not the case here. The bread is consistently soft and flavorful every time. I love going to the Farmers Market at Daley Plaza in Chicago. They have so many things to choose from that includes fresh fruits & veggies, flowers and food vendors. Quality of cake I ordered was horrible. I clearly verbally stated that I wanted it made a certain way and I got confirmation that this could be done there with no problem. I also asked if I could get the lady that bakes the cakes there also to be the Only one to make this cake since she was the one that baked my kid's cake last time and this was reassured by two different employees I spoke to that they will tell her. One employee even called her to tell her this in front of us when we returned the following day to speak with her. I was very clear and requested for No type of filling inside layer of cake and I only wanted thin sliced banana fruit exactly the same way I have received previous order of cake in February 2022. I was reassured that it would be made exactly per my request. That wasn't done, lot's of banana pudding was added and huge chunks of banana were added causing the cake to crumble apart when slicing it. I was left with almost the whole cake due to the poor quality lot's of my guests did not like the cake and were very surprised this cake came from the same bakery that the previous cake I ordered in February 2022. The photo image on cake was crooked but that was the least reason of the problem. Aracely's is located in downtown Franklin Park, near the metra station. Going to a pandaderia for me is like a kid in a candy store: I get to pick at least six (6) bakery items for less than $3. At around 1730 hour on a Thursday, full selections of bakery goodness at Aracely's were still available. To meet the minimum $5 purchase for using a credit card, hubby and I ordered couple of small mokalitos (abeulita with a shot of espresso) to ease our cravings for caffeine. Other than the Mexican/Hispanic bakery assortments, tortas, and tamales, there are donuts, cookies, turnovers, and cupcakes. My guava empanadas and conchas were sufficient enough for our spontaneous late-afternoon tea. I have noticed that many panaderias don't post the price under each item. While that never bothers me, I would try to budget as closely as possible based on my experience since many of them are cash-only. "A face of George Washington" is like a million bucks in a panaderia. Thus, create your own punch-card system and start collecting coins after people at a train station. I love the bread. The Nescafé Hot Chocolate was the issue today. Ordered two large, both were extremely low filled. Very disappointing since this is our favorite hit chocolate. Also the thongs used to pick your bread are not being wiped down after each use. They had dough and filling stuck on the ends. I think the young lay at the counter didn't appreciate that I was moving them over to get to a semi clean one. Another thing, I didn't purchase any tamales but I noticed they were over priced. These taste like my childhood, growing up being best friends with a boy who is first generation here, his mom would makes these on the weekends and I would go there and eat them. It just brought me back. They also have baked goods and sandwiches. The doughnuts are $.50 and are so fresh and good. You can tell they were made just hours before. I'd love to go back and try and the sandwiches, which are priced $3-$6 only! The place was packed and lots of people were ordering them and grabbing tamales. This place is a gem! One day I ventured in to buy a tray and I must've came at the wrong time of day because I got home so excited for some tamales and they had a burnt flavor to them -_- every.single.one.of.them. I oredered the red and green chicken. The red ones tasted much better than the green. I think it was the green that were burnt, but the flavor leaked into the red. My mother in law brought some conchas over from la chiquita in bensenville IL. They were amazing, I have never tasted a concha so good, I remember waking up in the middle of the night looking forward to them, only finding out someone else beat me to it. Thinking I can get them anywhere I ended up in Aracely's bakery in Franklin park. They had the most variety of concha's I have seen. I picked out 7 of them. They seemed much lighter then the la chiquita ones. After trying 3 different kinds I came to the conclusion that these were the worst conchas I have tasted. All 7 different varieties taste the same.
