    Veggie sandwich
    Megan E.

Had a veggie sandwich (not on the menu) since they were out of poblano and cheese tamales. It. Was. Delicious. The staff were all super kind, the place was clean inviting. I'll be back!

Such an awesome surprise to come across this quaint little Mexican bakery. Very clean and incredibly friendly, fresh breads and pastries and has an assortment of other items like sandwiches and tamales. Conveniently located and accommodating hours. We will definitely be back!

Never Did I Requested for Banana Pudding To Be Added at All !
    Rosely M.

Quality of cake I ordered was horrible. I clearly verbally stated that I wanted it made a certain way and I got confirmation that this could be done there with no problem. I also asked if I could get the lady that bakes the cakes there also to be the Only one to make this cake since she was the one that baked my kid's cake last time and this was reassured by two different employees I spoke to that they will tell her. One employee even called her to tell her this in front of us when we returned the following day to speak with her. I was very clear and requested for No type of filling inside layer of cake and I only wanted thin sliced banana fruit exactly the same way I have received previous order of cake in February 2022. I was reassured that it would be made exactly per my request. That wasn't done, lot's of banana pudding was added and huge chunks of banana were added causing the cake to crumble apart when slicing it. I was left with almost the whole cake due to the poor quality lot's of my guests did not like the cake and were very surprised this cake came from the same bakery that the previous cake I ordered in February 2022. The photo image on cake was crooked but that was the least reason of the problem. It saddens my heart to come to the realization that the bakery staff here disrespects and disregards what the customer requests and for that reason I won't return.

    Tres leche cake
    Niki R.

This is the best panderia I've tried in all of Chicagoland! The tres leche cake was the best I've ever had. It was perfectly soft, moist, and sweet. The icing was so light and tasty. I could easily eat and entire cake! Their brownie was also incredibly soft and fluffy while their other bread items were high quality and tasty. Everything was great and I can't wait to try other items!

I went up to the front to pay. She then came out and gave me my check. There was just such lack of service. Well, when I used the restroom, is was nasty. The waitress was the last person in the restroom before I walked in. Needless to say, I barely made it home if you know what I mean.

The meat was dry and chewy, the rice tasted like it came straight from a box, and the beans were watery and bland. Nothing tasted seasoned, let alone Mexican-inspired. The place itself didn't help. Tables were dirty, the atmosphere felt neglected, and the whole restaurant gave off a "we don't care anymore" vibe. Service was slow and inattentive, and when we finally got our food, it was wrong--and no one seemed bothered by it. For the prices they charge, this is completely unacceptable. There are fast-food taco chains that serve better meals with more consistency and care. New David's Mexican Grill feels like a cash grab pretending to be a restaurant. Save your money and your appetite. There are far better options literally anywhere else.

El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.
