Such an awesome surprise to come across this quaint little Mexican bakery. Very clean and incredibly friendly, fresh breads and pastries and has an assortment of other items like sandwiches and tamales. Conveniently located and accommodating hours. We will definitely be back!

Never Did I Requested for Banana Pudding To Be Added at All !
    Rosely M.

Quality of cake I ordered was horrible. I clearly verbally stated that I wanted it made a certain way and I got confirmation that this could be done there with no problem. I also asked if I could get the lady that bakes the cakes there also to be the Only one to make this cake since she was the one that baked my kid's cake last time and this was reassured by two different employees I spoke to that they will tell her. One employee even called her to tell her this in front of us when we returned the following day to speak with her. I was very clear and requested for No type of filling inside layer of cake and I only wanted thin sliced banana fruit exactly the same way I have received previous order of cake in February 2022. I was reassured that it would be made exactly per my request. That wasn't done, lot's of banana pudding was added and huge chunks of banana were added causing the cake to crumble apart when slicing it. I was left with almost the whole cake due to the poor quality lot's of my guests did not like the cake and were very surprised this cake came from the same bakery that the previous cake I ordered in February 2022. The photo image on cake was crooked but that was the least reason of the problem. It saddens my heart to come to the realization that the bakery staff here disrespects and disregards what the customer requests and for that reason I won't return.

    Tres leche cake

This is the best panderia I've tried in all of Chicagoland! The tres leche cake was the best I've ever had. It was perfectly soft, moist, and sweet. The icing was so light and tasty. I could easily eat and entire cake! Their brownie was also incredibly soft and fluffy while their other bread items were high quality and tasty. Everything was great and I can't wait to try other items!

I missed my go-to panaderia in Albany Park, and I always have "conchas on my mind." Technically, the lyrics should be "empanadas on my mind," which rhymes with Georgia. Aracely's is located in downtown Franklin Park, near the metra station. Going to a pandaderia for me is like a kid in a candy store: I get to pick at least six (6) bakery items for less than $3. At around 1730 hour on a Thursday, full selections of bakery goodness at Aracely's were still available. To meet the minimum $5 purchase for using a credit card, hubby and I ordered couple of small mokalitos (abeulita with a shot of espresso) to ease our cravings for caffeine. Other than the Mexican/Hispanic bakery assortments, tortas, and tamales, there are donuts, cookies, turnovers, and cupcakes. My guava empanadas and conchas were sufficient enough for our spontaneous late-afternoon tea. I have noticed that many panaderias don't post the price under each item. While that never bothers me, I would try to budget as closely as possible based on my experience since many of them are cash-only. "A face of George Washington" is like a million bucks in a panaderia. Thus, create your own punch-card system and start collecting coins after people at a train station. You will feel so accomplished when there is a concha blanca in your hands with that 60 cents you've thrifted!

This is the Nescafé Abuelita Hot Chocolate, low filled. I suggest you check before you leave the bakery.

El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.
