Ara pilates is an amazing pilates studio they have locations in Indian Wells and La Quinta I have taken several different classes here and instructors. Riley really stands out to me she is motivating but also gives you options to modify if needed. You make the class what you need. Her que-ing is so on point and she is really superb showing the exercises and makes it fun! My favorite classes on the reformer are strength and essentials. However I do Love a good mat pilates class! If you haven't checked out the mat and barre room in la quinta make it a priority. read more

As the saying goes--you get what you pay for... When it comes to local Pilates studios you can't beat the high level of professionalism, competence and friendly community Marlys and ARA offers. I should also mention that I take regular workshops, sessions and privates from Tera Lea Surratt and Janie Snyder which prepared me for a recent knee surgery. Started coming here about 6-7 months ago. Really liked it, the place was welcoming and had a very zen feeling to it. The staff are friendly and the instructors teach great classes, really something for everyone and a large selection as well. They even have a waitlist online to get you in last minute sometimes. The unfortunate part is the new layout, it's extremely uninviting. Before, you would workout side by side and your viewpoint was either the accessories wall, or the private rooms, (which they frosted nicely for even more privacy, great touch!) and you could easily focus on your breathing, your movement, and the instructors voice. Now however, the arrangement is everyone in 2 rows lined up in front of/behind one another which is extremely uncomfortable and awkward. Now, by no given choice, you have someone's rear end as your view, and someone has yours. So long gone is the relaxing zen feeling you once had. Now you feel uncomfortable and on display in a sense. Around the time when it was first changed, I overheard numerous people discussing their dislike of the new arrangement and some even approached the owner, hoping she would understand and take into consideration the perspective, who were all mentioning the exact same feelings. Shockingly, the owner dismissively replied with "You'll get used to it. This is how the new La Quinta location will be set up too." A few of the ladies looked at each other disappointed and frustrated, which I felt as well and some even reiterated to each other about their dislike outside, after the class was over. I would have thought the owner would have liked the honest feedback, and would have wanted to know if the people keeping her business open, weren't enjoying their experience as much anymore. Especially with the reason people are disappointed being such an easy fix. It made me think differently of this once amazing location and I sadly haven't been back much ever since. I hope something changes for the better because our enjoyment and comfort should be a large importance to the owner of a business. Time will tell, but it's been a while and the new setup remains, so I don't imagine the owner has much sympathy for the unhappy clientele. read more

Her energy was terrific and she made sure to correct our form and guide us through the moves throughout class. Such an amazing studio! It was my first time doing Pilates and the instructor was so amazing. She made sure to help me while also making sure it did not slow down the class. There were some experts in the class and she gave them challenges to push themselves as well. We went here for a bachelorette party and rented out the studio for a private class. It was not expensive at all and a great way to get in a workout. The space is nice and warm and they turn on fans throughout to ensure it does not get too hot. The equipment is brand new and has lots of options including medicine balls, blocks, and so many other ways to mix it up. The owner is super creative and adjusts the classes every week to ensure you don't get bored. They have 3 private rooms, 2 single and 1 double for private classes. So friendly and a great great workout they really know what they are doing. read more

Great studio with ample parking and good class sizes (10). I had an incredible time and really enjoyed my Essential Movement class with Cayla. I took her class when visiting Palm Desert with a friend when I was still new to Pilates. I had only taken a couple classes prior, but her cueing was so great that I didn't have to look to her or others to understand what we were supposed to be doing for the various movements. Knowing I was new to Pilates at the time, she kept a close eye to ensure I was in proper form and understanding each movement. She engaged muscles that I normally have trouble with, and I was pleasantly surprised with how sore my pectorals were the next day! I enjoyed chatting with her after class, and left feeling empowered, motivated, and stress-free. Another reviewer said the studio has the best vibes, and having since tried many more studios over the past 3 months since my visit here, I have to agree. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area, and my only (joking) complaint is that it's too far from my home in OC. read more

I took 4 classes while on vacation in Desert Palm. I teach in Tacoma WA and practice Basi style Pilates which is more classical. While this is not the type of Pilates I was looking for, I definitly enjoyed my workouts and learned a ton of new exercises to practice on my reformer! The staff here is SO friendly and accommodating (not like in my area). They even offered to give me a refund if I purchased a class I was not able to make it in! I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to get in a little movement during vacation, or if you live in the area. I would have liked to tey the Essentials class, but was only able to get into the jumpboard and cardio classes. I also got to attend the community class which was more flowy. My instructors, Janell, Greta, Carina, and Brooke were all LOVELY! Their classes were easy to follow, their instructions were on point, and they offered a ton of modifications to make each exercise accessible for everyone while still providing a HARD workout! My only suggestion would be to book a private in advance as that was the one thing I didn't get to do. Thanks for a great workout ladies! read more

The triple M ladies will leave help achieve you weight loss goals, slim your waist and strength your body. The class is not intense like HIIT workouts but it builds over time. It's ideal if you have PCOS or limited mobility. These clases will not raise your cortisol levels, but they will improve your mobility, strength, and flexibility. I think I just found my new Pilates Studio! Totally my vibe! Love the location right by the new Sprouts in Indian Wells. Parking was not hard to find. There's available spots right outside the studio. As soon as I walked in another instructor Janie and others were leaving and they were so welcoming. They even complimented me on my workout attire. The energy and open aesthetic of the studio felt amazing. Bright and airy. They have multiple rooms for private sessions. They have clothing and merchandise available for purchase. I absolutely LOVED my class with Carina! This was my first reformer class and I was a bit nervous about it because I just started doing the Pilates classes. I did an intro at another class the week before elsewhere, and it was intense for me. This class is 50 min. Equipment was very comfortable and I felt at ease using it during class. Carina was very attentive with everyone. She helped with any modifications I needed during class. She was very informative. I loved the music and felt very confident after class with her. She even added some frequency yoga meditation music during cool down while stretching. She passed out individual disinfectant spray bottles and towels for us to wipe down equipment after use, which I am so happy about. So you know they keep everything nice and clean there. They use Mrs. Meyer's spray which is another big hit for me. I'm really looking forward to coming back to this Pilates studio. read more

My mother in law asked me if I would be interested in taking reformer Pilates. So naturally I googled it, before I could answer, she said I think you would love it. She was absolutely right!!! I could not even image myself missing a class. I love that the class settings are small between 3-6 people a class. The owners are super great and so helpful in guiding me. I feel like I'm learning so much about my body and how much breathing has to do with exercise. Ara has been a haven for me, Pilates is my happy place. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
