I've done Painting with a Twist, but this was BY FAR my favorite. The ambiance is great, and so are the artists that assist each step of the way. I attended an event to benefit The American Cancer Society where we were able to do a few different projects. I chose to do the lazy Susan (old school circular item that goes in the center of a table and spins for easy transference of condiments and such at the table). I first sanded the wood, then received help adding the hardware to the back. Once done, we stained (using stain of our choice) our pieces. I chose a darker stain and white wash to go over. While the stain dried, they have you use a tiny scraping tool to take the inside of the lettering out to be used and painted later on. This was by far the only downside of the experience (for me due to the precise and tedious job of removing this from the many minuscule letters of the design I chose. (If you do not wish to do this, choose a design without as much detail and/or lettering). After the stain dried, I took a break from the stenciling project and white washed the wood to give a lighter effect. Once this was done, I finished the stencil letter extraction and proceeded to prime the design and paint it. Overall the entire process took about 3 hours and fifteen minutes. You are able to BYOB, but I personally wouldn't want to do that after spending quite a bit of money on my project. They sell some items (necklaces, bath bombs, candles) in the store as well. If you wish to create something, check out their website to book a time and pick a design. I will come here again. *Side note-I am not one to partake in crafts often, nor do I particularly like this hobby. However, I LOVED doing this.* read more
