    Pie in the sky stout

Attended a trivia night on a Thursday evening, chill relaxed atmosphere. Questions started easy then got way too hard I got the pie in the sky oatmeal coffee stout. it was nice, I was left wanting some more chocolatey tones though! My girl got the strawberry-keylime sour, she said, "I don't like beer, but I liked that!".

Aquatic Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Falmouth, Massachusetts in September 2020. It was founded by local residents Greg Horning and Alex Bergman. The two both became interested in home brewing when they were both students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They continued the hobby when they were roommates at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute; they had enrolled in the joint program in Oceanography & Applied Ocean Science and Engineering. For several years they continued to refine their beer recipes. After graduating, the two decided to pursue opening a brewery rather than postdoctoral positions. I visited Aquatic Brewing for the first time last week. I was in Cape Cod for a week-long family vacation and was passing through Falmouth. I dropped off my wife and son at a nearby playground and then stopped at the brewery. The crowd at the brewery was small, but that was just fine with me; I don't care for crowded breweries. I spoke with Greg and Alex for a bit. They explained that due to COVID restrictions, they were take-out only when they first opened. They only just opened to indoor service at the end of May. They had nine different beers on tap with styles ranging from a Common to a Stout to a Saison. Aquatic doesn't have sample flights available but they do offer half pours. I noticed that they had three different IPAs on tap, which are my favorite style. I started off with 'Double Dry-Hopped Ekman Spiral': a Session IPA with some nice grapefruit notes. My second half pour was of 'Aronnax': a New England IPA with great tropical fruit hints. For my final selection, I tasted 'Gyre: Indian Ocean': a Double New England IPA with nice notes of lime and raspberry. I enjoyed all of the beers that I tasted, but that last one was my favorite. I purchased a crowler of it to go. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Aquatic Brewing and I would definitely visit again.

I had the Dock Rock. Pretty good for a session.

Beer was fresh but a tad underwhelming. Staff was friendly and informative. Decent amount of seating inside. Parking here is free.

Never been disappointed by a beer here. This brewery is young, but they consistently satisfy! The atmosphere is wonderful. Even though it's a small space, it can fit a lot of people & always has a friendly vibe. Dogs are allowed and there's a decent setup for bringing yours. They recently started selling cans and the artwork is very cool! Definitely recommend stopping by!!

What a great venue -- almost don't wanna write this because I feel like there's a hidden gem here…read moreto be tucked away for myself and only shared with friends. But I'm writing this to help support the kind of business we need here on Cape Cod. And to provide a little kind and constructive feedback. It's a beautiful open wooden A-frame kind of feel with a cool loft and outside "porch" kind of space that would work in any season. The pizza was solid. The beer was excellent if a little pricy. The review of the meatball sub from friends was "it's good." Cheese board was enormous and could feed a whole soccer team and the Pretzel is generic, store bought and not recommended. The service was a little weird -- instead of getting a waiter, you just have to kinda fend for yourself -- initially it seemed like just an online menu but they do have printed menus. Seems like a missed opportunity to have a server actually wait the tables, make recommendations and earn a tip. Instead it's a hodgepodge of food runners and no real direction what to order. And the strangest part was I had a conversation with one of these folks and she was so terrific and kind I wished she'd waited on us! Anyways, in conclusion ambiance =5. Food and drink = 4. Service =3 (not the fault of the servers -- just a whacky service plan.) overall 4. Thank you!

I have to start this review with the worst part...bad clam chowder in New England. Read on for…read moredeets. The location is nice enough, though the advertised lake view is obscured by trees. The bartender was very nice. The beer selection was heavily weighted towards hazy NEIPAs, which I understand--they sell! (I teach beverage at the Culinary Institute of America). I ordered two beers, a corn lager and a maibock. The lager was good, but the maibock was technically flawed, with diacetyl (movie popcorn butter smell) and I think some acetalaldehyde (cooked vegetable) smells/flavors. Not terrible, not great, and 10 oz. pours were priced like pints at other breweries. Here comes the bad part, though. We also ordered some clam chowder and pretzel bites. We got the food at our inside table and the chowder was the worst we've ever had in our lives. Campbells and Progresso well exceed the quality of this 'soup'. It didn't taste like clams, there was no discernible seasoning or flavor from onions or garlic, and it had obviously been thickened (into glop) with cornstarch. It might also have been scorched during cooking. It was so bad that we each took two bites and had to stop. And we are *not* picky eaters. The pretzel bites (for $15) were plentiful, but obviously a commodity product heated up...barely. The beer cheese dip was good and the mustard had a nice kick, but that much money for a pile of frozen pretzel bites is ridiculous. So, $40+ for two 10oz beers and food so bad we threw 90% of it in the garbage. The staff was nice enough, the live music outside was bad, but the food. Holy moly the food was terrible. Oh, and the beers weren't great. We will not be going back, and don't think you should go either.

Perfect for bringing our 2 little ones because we can relax and keep an eye on them but they can also run around on the large lawn and play. Lots of little kids, and dogs, and a friendly peaceful atmosphere. I do wish they served kombucha or some other interesting non alcoholic beverages on tap along with the beers. Or perhaps a house lemonade. Would be welcome for kids and also grownups who don't do alcohol. We brought water or milk for the kids to stay hydrated, and get ourselves beers from the bar. Our favorite food truck that goes there is called BBQ y Mas- their fried chicken sandwich is the best! The lawn is so beautiful overlooking the fields of grain.

The three partners would spend weekends together homebrewing with friends and fine-tuning their beer. Terbush became a certified beer server and Semcken and Shepard passed the exam to become certified Cicerones (the beer equivalent of a wine sommelier). Eventually, they wanted to open their own brick & mortar brewery. Second Hand's small taproom and outdoor beer garden opened on Howland Street in 2018. The popularity of their beer soon took off, and in 2020 their 3 1/2-barrel system was upgraded to a 7-barrel system. An even larger secondary taproom with a full kitchen opened down the street at 11 Main Street in December 2025. While most of the brewing operations still continue at the original Howland Street location, customers can enjoy more space and a delicious menu of food curated by Chef Stephen Coe at the Main Street location. Coe is locally famous for his Lobsta Love food trucks and nationally known for his win against celebrity chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network's "Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay."  I recently visited both of Second Wind Brewing's locations while I was in Plymouth for the day. After checking out a couple of other breweries in town, I headed for the Howland Street taproom. Things are a little smaller here, but they offer a more intimate experience. The outdoor patio seating is a nice place to kick back on a warm weather day. I pulled up a seat at the bar and enjoyed a can pour of "Cent'anni" (Italian Pilsner), followed by a draught pour of "Four the Shore" [2026] (Session New England IPA). The pilsner was crisp and refreshing while the IPA was light with nice notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Afterwards, I made a short walk down the street to the larger taproom. It was much more spacious here and there were some flatsceen TVs playing sports games. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the food menu. I ordered the "Pork Belly & Mozzarella Arancini" (served with/ romesco, arugula & cheese sauce) and the "Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap" (Romaine Caesar dressing, blue cheese croutons) with "Sidewinder Fries". The food was excellent! I washed it down with a draught pour of "Buckshot" (Hazy IPA). verall, I had an enjoyable experience at both locations and I would definitley return to either one the next time I'm in Plymouth!

The community has watched the construction on this place for over five years, and Second Wind gave us the best possible reward: an un-fussed, un-pretentious un-official opening the day before Thanksgiving. I couldn't make it that night, but I stopped by that Friday. They were busy and buzzing. The Space: The new brew pub is gorgeous. It mixes modern, industrial elements (exposed piping, cool metal lighting) with dark, comfortable features like the stylish leather lounge seating. It manages to feel both expansive and cozy, with digital menu boards above the bar keeping the beer list clear. This is a high-end taproom designed for settling in for the night. The Beer: I started with the Known and Loved IPA (5.4% ABV), and it was exactly the sessionable, hazy delight I needed after a long holiday. Citrusy, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. It's clear that even as they manage this expansion, the quality of the beer remains top-tier. The Food (The Gossip): Now, the big question: where's the food? The official story is that they are waiting for final food service permits as they finalize their partnership with the legendary Executive Chef, Stephen Coe. However, I've been tipped off by a very reliable "insider" at the bar: Chef Coe is still on a 60-day jail sentence for the sheer brutality of the beating he administered to Bobby Flay on national television. It was apparently an assault charge disguised as a culinary competition. The pub is just buying time until he serves his sentence and can be released back into the wild to run the kitchen. In all seriousness, the future looks incredibly bright. This is already a phenomenal spot for a pint, and once Chef Coe is free and wielding his cutlery, this place will be unstoppable. Go check out the new digs and tell the staff you're sending positive energy (and a file baked into a cake) to their executive chef!
