At 2, my daughter could swim across the pool by herself outside of lessons. Before lessons, my daughter would freak out anytime water touched her face, after just a few lessons with Cathryn, my daughter was literally dunking her head in the bath, and is the biggest water lover now! This summer I took my 1 year old to survival float lessons with Cathryn. The first 2 weeks, my daughter absolutely hated them. Screaming, crying, but floating entirely on her own already. By the end of week 4, my daughter was laughing and lunging herself into the pool. And she absolutely loved Cathryn, cuddling into her every chance she got. Cathryn is so positive and tough in the best way. Both of my daughters absolutely love her. I look forward to taking my youngest back next summer for swim float swim! I genuinely cannot recommend SoCal Water Babies enough. Good swim lessons are SO important, and I have serious faith in her technique. The relief I feel knowing both of my kids have strong survival instincts around water now is great. 10000/10 recommend.

There have been so many changes over the years to the gym here at UCR, mostly to try to better the place. They've moved things around, made things nicer, added more things, and overall improved the gym space but adding things like extra power racks and now they have a weight sled on the second floor. Service is generally friendly but usually whenever I ask the front desk for things, they seem lost or they act like they don't care about anything. Overall, I do think that this recreation center is a lot nicer than other the other UCs. Some of my complaints include that they refuse to have higher dumbbell limits, since the highest dumbbells only go up to 100. I know it's not in-demand to have them, but if students need to progress, you'd think they'd add more weights. I also don't like that they got rid of some of the leg machines downstairs and moved them upstairs. By doing that, you're making students become even more lazy from doing leg workouts more often and you've created a chicken leg epidemic! haha If you're coming to this gym from outside of the university, I believe that they have guest passes for $5. But if you're from UCR, I highly suggest utilizing this gym because it's included in your tuition.

They have any type of weight training you need, an indoor track, beautiful pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and almost anything you need. The equipment is kept clean, and you can use the rooms to do floor training when classes aren't being held. Speaking of classes - they have people come and teach Zumba, Pilates, or again - anything you need. Water stations on both floors, and clean bathrooms on both floors as well. Sometimes the SRC gets crowded, but that's mostly after the New Years. If you avoid prime hours of working out you'll have no problem getting the machines you need. However, even if it is crowded, you'll still get what you need with a short wait time. If you're a student or have the opportunity to use this gym, I strongly recommend it!

She was very quick to answer phone calls and reply to text messages when we were to enroll but won't even return our calls anymore after we had issues. I cancelled the sessions after the second day because of the unpleasant experiences that we had in two days that we went to her swimming lesson. The unprofessionalism and lack of organization is really disappointing. Some of the details are: - She messed up our schedule and had us at the same time with another kid which she keeps insisting that she did not, but she had no clue on our first day that we were supposed to be there at 1pm. She thought that our schedule is at 10am, and I think that is because I texted her around 9am that morning asking for the address. She might even have no idea that we are coming that day since I never heard anything back from her 2 weeks before after I paid her in full. - Her teenager assistant rolled her eyes to us and openly showing how irritated she is with my kids, and Marjorie letting it happen under her supervision (she defended her saying that she was just like that because they never had a student who got sick before). Both my kids never had any swimming lessons before so I'm not really expecting for an immediate result. However, I am expecting that they will have patience with them as I assumed that they are professional kids swimming instructors who would know how to properly deal with kids. Unfortunately, that's not the case. - After telling her that we would like to cancel and requested to refund our remaining credit (we paid her in full for the 8/30mins sessions for 2 kids), she won't answer or return our call anymore. I've been calling her using my cellphone for days with no avail. However, when we tried calling her again using another phone where the number is blocked (just few minutes after I called her again and left a VM using my CP), she answered immediately. - just an additional info for everyone: the address for the swimming lesson is NOT 975 Canyon Crest Country Dr. as stated here in Yelp. The "lessons" are done in a residential house in Chesterfield Rd, Riverside - I have to mention this as the first reason why we chose Crush Bubbles here in Yelp is because of the distance from our house and it was a let down that the location was actually about 20mins farther. I already paid when I was told about the address so we decided to just continue. As of for now, It's already been more than a month since I've been asking her to refund us with our remaining credits or the days that was not used. Unfortunately, all I've been getting so far are excuses. I have already raised the issue with Paypal and filed a dispute against them. ========================================================== UPDATE: In response to LuvH20polo H's post, it is true that paypal rejected my claim. But that is not because of the documents that she submitted but because the service is not covered by Paypal's purchase protection. I now have a daughter in addition to my boy. She has actually taken classes here and if she wasn't doing dance regularly, I would have her here doing gymnastics. I plan to have her try their Acro gymnastics perhaps in a year or two. I also wanted to comment on the comments about how the owners are racist, Russian, and in it for the money. First, it's a business. You start a business to make money. Customers can often be the ones who are unreasonable. Pay what you agreed to pay. Disneyland won't refund your month you didn't use the pass. Why should small businesses do that when it hits them even harder. Businesses cost money...a LOT of money...to operate. Instructors, lights, and I doubt that massive warehouse is free. In fact, I would wager it's their biggest cost every month or maybe tied for first with staff, which not only includes hourly wages but workers comp insurance for each employee. You like AC in Riverside heat? That isn't free either. Second, the racism I'm seeing exercised against this business because it's Russian owned...for shame! People commenting on how they're racist? Please. I'm Hispanic and my husband is Asian and I have never once felt discriminated against by them. I've only had one encounter with the owner. I will say she wasn't covered in sugar, and she made me fill out a waiver for my daughter while I wore her during pop-in play, by whatever. If my daughter got injured in any way, she could have a potential law suit on her hands. People rarely think about the small business owner or the stresses they're under trying to serve the public.
