The driver Casildo Pineda was very nice and gave me the company business card but since then numerous phones messages, numerous emails along with photos of the damage and auto glass replacement invoice have been completely ignored. Not even the decency to share their vehicle insurance information. Its sad that I had to file a CHP report and file a small claims lawsuit in OC court to try to motivate them to take care of this.

To salvage the opportunity, the salesperson, Chris, texted me and offered to come the following day at noon instead, along with a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule twice to accommodate them during what was already an exceptionally difficult time, as I was preparing to say goodbye to my 16-year-old dog that weekend. Chris did arrive on Friday as promised, but a week has now passed and I have received neither a bid nor any follow-up communication from anyone at the company. Shortly after the appointment, their Thumbtack profile was also removed or hidden. While I can't say why, the timing was odd, as it prevented me from leaving a review on the platform where we originally connected. I've uploaded screenshots with this review documenting the interaction, including Chris's last-minute cancellation, his offer of a 5% discount, and the Thumbtack notification showing the company was no longer available on the platform. If reliability, communication, and follow-through are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

They were very competitive on pricing as we got several quotes. Oscar was very easy to work with as we described our needs and he came up with great designs that took very little adjustments to get exactly what we had envisioned. Oscar took us to several nurseries to select plants that would compliment the project. Victor took care of the demo and construction side of the project and was he amazing! The crew shows up on time and the site is thoroughly cleaned up each day. Communication was awesome, if we had any questions about products or how things were being laid out Victor answered them right away. As the project went along if Victor thought something might look better a certain way he would ask us what we thought before proceeding. Victor's crew were very courteous and professional at all times! He also created documents to submit to our HOA for approval, and he was able to make changes quickly when needed. Victor and the crew were on time, efficient, and timely with the work. It was greatly appreciated that everything was washed down and cleaned by the crew at the end of each day. They were also able to make quick adjustments when our neighbor had some concerns with the hedges we wanted to plant. The scope of the work included adding a concrete pad, extending our concrete patio, planting privacy hedges with drainage and auto watering system, installing artificial grass with paver walkways, and adding pebbles along the exterior wall of our house. Since we have a soft watering system, we also had them install a separate line from the main. Overall, Caliscapes OC was professional, friendly, and accommodating. We even had one of the hedge plants not doing well. We reached out to Caliscapes OC to advise us on how to revive it, and they said they would replace it. We had a good experience and would recommend!

When he was done, I did ask why a few things weren't trimmed, and for each he had an answer that made sense. Most importantly, I didn't have to ask him and go back and pull weeds that still remained or cut other things that should have been cut. I called on AquaLife to convert my Koi Pond into a water feature. I really didn't know what could be done and Dave expertly guided us through the many design options he thought would make the most out of the existing structure. The end result is extraordinary! It looks great during the day and even better at night with the expertly staged LED lighting. Dave promised a quality work team for the project and he didn't disappoint. His project manager, Eric, was on top of this job from day one and the crew was top notch as well. The job was completed well within my time expectations and they accommodated a change order without missing a step. At the end of the project we received a thorough briefing on the mechanics and periodic maintenance needs. This was a VERY large project and I had interviewed a few companies prior to meeting with Dave. Once I met with Dave, I knew he had the vision that I was trying to accomplish with the Dream of My Pond. Dave was able to assemble a team of CAC Expert pond builders who worked non-stop for 3 weeks in December building my pond, waterfalls and multiple streams. Dave also has a secret weapon: ALISON!!! -- she managed, coordinated and oversaw all the details of the entire project and was able to assist in a few finishing touches since the completion of the build. After Dave came by and talked with us for over an hour on the project, he sent out a contract and we decided to book with him. They got started on the date promised and finished in a timely manner. From start to finish, the crew was very helpful and answered all my family's questions about pond biology, the equipment, and everything. We had our 21x13x3 pond installed in a week and a half even though they were short-handed and faced the heat of the summer sun. The build came out great! These guys did an amazing job on transforming our backyard into an oasis. We made the mistake of trying to build our own pond and it turned out to be a disaster. Two years after AquaLife built our backyard waterfall, we incidentally ended up having a leak. We gave them a call, they came out within a few days to give us an estimate and once we approved the plans, they were back out within a day. As other people have said Aqualife Ponds build fantastic ponds but, they know and understand water chemistry. If you have a pond with green water these folks are the one to call. I hired Timeless Ponds and Fountains to restore a fountain that had been reconfigured and…read moresubsequently failed. The job required reinstallation of a basin that had been removed, replumbing the fountain to move a pump into the basin, and then providing a replacement cover for a part that had been disposed of by accident. The work was done in pretty much one morning and was performed excellently. The basin was set and carefully leveled, the fountain plumbing was addressed, and everything is working great again. Chris did this work on a pretty warm day but really paid attention to the details. Now to add some river stones and plantings around the edge.

He also gave me helpful advice about who to contact next. I appreciated the follow-up and it made me feel much better about the whole interaction. Although they weren't able to help with my specific issue, I respect that Matt took the time to call and clarify things.

After deciding to redo our turf and also include our backyard, Mike came out the next week for a free in person consultation and got me a detailed quote within 2 days. The turnaround time for everything was just amazing, I've never seen anything like it. Our lot is about 3615 sq ft to give a reference point. Our project included: all the labor to demolish/uproot all of our plants including a very large 20 year old tree in the backyard + all the roots (completed in 2-3 days), redid our front and backyard turf (completed in 2 days by Backyard Golf Company), added a veneer stone and cap on our retaining wall (1 week) and replanted all our plants/installed a drip sprinkler system/installed lighting front and backyard (1 week). We have an HOA and Mike had a complete detailed plan and diagram ready for us within 3-5 days. Once HOA got back to us, the project was started within a week and finished in the estimated time frame. Workers came promptly at 8 AM and they were actively working all day not just sitting around. Very respectful, even blowing all the dust at the end of the day to keep the area clean, no garbage left anywhere. The entire project was $30,000 and there weren't any surprise or unexpected costs. Invoices are sent every week on a reasonable schedule and I just loved our experience. I'd recommend Seabreeze to anyone wanting to do their hardscape landscaping in a heartbeat!

As seen in the screenshot I attached, after I politely informed him that we had chosen to go with another contractor, his response was unnecessarily passive-aggressive and unprofessional. I don't believe it's appropriate for a business to respond to potential clients this way -- especially when the communication was respectful. It's understandable that not every contractor will get every job. But the way someone reacts in these situations says a lot about their attitude and how they might handle challenges during the actual project. My advice to others: professionalism and basic respect matter just as much as skill. There are many great contractors out there -- choose one who makes you feel comfortable and respected throughout the process. Definitely not the one I would recommend, based on my experience.
