just a warning: the plastic Kinetico system installed by Aqualife through Home Depot burst and flooded my basement with 1 foot of water, the filter was installed using plastic pipes and did not have automatic shut off valve!!! Be ready for the flood of you have the system installed! I wasted $3000 for Kinetico and paid another $$$ for the repairs. I have been enjoying our Kinetico water filter system provided to us by Aqualife since January 2017. The water tastes great and it's much nicer having clean filtered and alkaline water right from an elegant faucet right next to our regular faucet. It is definitely the Mercedes of water filter systems, but you get what you pay for. They have different payment plans for each budget. We bought ours outright, but I believe they have a monthly plan as well. There is a yearly fee for someone to come out and change the filters plus whatever additional add ons you want like turning the water Alkaline which we upgraded to because we believe it's important. I want to give a special shout out to our installation technician, Kostya, who originally installed our system under the sink and who has come back twice because I personally requested him. He's the best! We recently had an issue and it was resolved in a very fair and timely manner. Thank you again for your professionalism. We are happy to be Aqualife customers for years to come. So here's the deal.... They come to service your system and tell you that if you give them a nice review on Google or Yelp, they will give you an inline shower filter....great! They even gave me a water bottle! When done with the service, he try's to sell you a $250 shower head.....I decline. I then ask what I owe for the service, $217 he tells me, which I vaguely remember was the price from last year. He gets on the phone with the office (in Russian) while I write out the check, then suddenly tells me it's now $250! Why I say? He doesn't know? I know why, because I didn't buy their overpriced shower-head and now have to pay for the free bottle and filter! I called the office to find out why there was a 15% increase in the filter service and was told I would be called back......didn't happen. Sent an email.....nothing. Bought a new system 7 years ago. Was never told that maintenance will go up every year and filter change is recommended as well for additional cost. Recently I moved and it cost me almost $500 to move the system (we paid it off, that is the only reason we decided to take the system with us), which i was never told either. Pressure was low and we called the service. They said that $75 will be required if the problem is not their fault, which it was. Not only did the tech not fix it but after he left the tank began to leak. Called again and was told to pay additional hundreds of dollars because all of a sudden our warranty is expired. Worst company ever! Stop wasting your $$. Go to homedepot a get a Reverse osmosis system for $200. I used this company's services for 5 years. Since last few months the system wasn't working at all. The tank never filled up over night. Called the customer service 4-5 times to get a technician over, who comes and tells me there is a problem with the water coming from NYC. He accused NYC DEP, the next visit he says it my building. On 3rd visit he told me the tank is too small and its going to he $240 for 2g tank. What he forgot was to change the filter that is separate from the system. Which is totally black and doesn't let the water even enter the system. They asked for monthly $$ and extra $35 for every visit. I had to call technician every 2 weeks. Thats $70 a month just for technician. Upon asking to cancle my service, the lady tells me its $200 to cancle the service. Again worst company ever. Go to HomeDepot buy the Filter system for $200. The company is a pure scam. I suspect that the only people leaving decent reviews are the ones that get gifts in exchange for good reviews. I got offered a few gifts as well in exchange for a positive feedback. They should be investigated for financial fraud. The company doesn't disclose the true servicing costs for their water systems. For just a plain water filter in your kitchen you have to pay $295 for every 500 gallons of filtered water, which stops running until you replace the basic filter. In addition to that basic filter you have to pay around $400 each year for the filter that removes traces of medicine and chemicals, the costs, which they don't disclose at all during the installation. Also there is an additional filter that replenishes minerals into filtered water that costs and additional $200 per annum. So all in all in addition to the purchase price be prepared to spend an additional $1200 per annum for Filters/ servicing. In case you decide to install the filtration system in your whole house that removes chlorine from your water you looking at an additional $800 in servicing costs just to maintain that. Also they don't tell you any of that or ask you if you want the replacements done until it's all installed/serviced and its time to pay. They shock you with the bill and the technician won't leave until it's fully paid for. In case their system breaks/ leaks, it's pretty challenging to get anyone to come out and service you right away. The water filter under my sink started leaking pretty heavily. The customer service rep kept convincing me that it's my pipes that are leaking and I should get someone to fix it first before I call them and that their first available appointment in my area was almost a month away. It took many phone calls as well as pictures that I had to send them via email to convince them to come out and fix the leaking filter. Before you commit to work with this company do your research. They are a dishonest company with zero true cost transparency and lousy customer service. read more

I have had the kinetico system for years and installing it was a very wise decision but what is truly amazing is the maintenance that this company provides . Today i had a technician who's name is Sergiy come in to replace the filters. He was incredibly friendly and professional. He did a beautiful job as you can tell by the photo below. He went the extra mile so to speak. I have never had a better experience dealing with a company. I would highly recommend the kinetico system for anyone who is concerned with health benefits but beyond that you will never be disappointed with the maintenance service. On contrary I can pretty much guarantee (based on personal experience) that whoever has the pleasure in installing this system will be blown away by the service. All the technicians have been great throughout the years but Sergiy was by far the best. I have had my K5 for about 5 years and have not at all regretted the price tag. I live in NY and we tend to have much sediment in our water - thanks to those old pipes. I have tried several other common household filters from the 6 month self changing filters to ceramic filters. Each of these would clog up closer to 2 months and were thus not viable. This unit gets serviced once a year and I am confident I am getting the best water you can at home. No other maintenance, never had an issue, and the water has always been consistently clean tasting. In fact, my family bottles up the water from home and take to work/events. Now you do need to understand this filter is not cheap, but if you were looking for a cheap water filters you would not be looking here. I am not a snob and am not putting down the other filters. I have just gone through at least 3 other name brand general water filters and they were not effective enough here. Bottom line, if can afford the space (it does take a good portion under the sink) and the cost (it's an investment) you will not regret and end up with the best and safest water in town. Now I have talked about the product, I just wanted to give a shout out to Aqualife. Every technician has installed/services my filter without issue. My latest filter change was by Igor.
