I only need to see the doctor once a year…read morefor my regular check up but every time I have gone, I have been happy with the visit and efficiency of the office. My husband also sees Dr. Douglas (we almost never go together due to work schedules) and my husband has similar experiences. The staff here is great and the office runs efficiently. Dr. Douglas runs on time. I've never had a wait. My husband is typically a difficult stick. The phlebotomist here is awesome and always gets him on the first time. Dr. Douglas is kind and takes a real interest in you, not just as a patient but as a person. Dr. Douglas is a huge dog lover and has photos of his dogs in the exam rooms. It's a nice touch so that the office feels less sterile and more welcoming. It's also nice to get a glimpse into his hobbies/ outside interests. That way you see him not just as your doctor but as a human. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Douglas. He is a wonderful PCP. You want someone who takes the time to listen and gets to know you as a person. The location is convenient for me but even if I lived a little further away, I'd drive the extra distance for a good doctor.

One of the things I most appreciate about Dr. Douglas is how prompt he is, so if an appointment is at 2:30pm as an example, you can betcha that a few minutes later, Dr. Douglas will stroll into the consulting room. I also like that he is through, keeps up to date with the latest medical research and offers genuine, logical solutions that work best for your individual circumstances rather than whatever the latest fad is. I would absolutely recommend Dr Douglas if you are looking for a personal physician in the area. Note: #199 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

But then, the psychiatrist put me on two prescriptions, one an anti-depressant I've never taken despite no diagnosis pf depression. I asked her if there were any side effects I should be aware of, and she shrugged me off. I decided to spend time in Jax with my family recovering from the rape trauma. I was told by the OBH office staff that I was too new for them to fill our my short-term dosability paperwork, but they agreed, on 16 May, to fax my records to my trusted ob in Jax. I called them FIVE TIMES between 5/16 and 5/30 to check the status of my records. Each time I was either put on hold for hours til my phone died or hung up on when 5 pm hit. On 5/30, I took matters into my own hands and drove two hours (shorter than their phone wait times) to obtain a physical copy of my records. When I arrived, the secretary told be it was up to the Board of Directors whether or not my records could be released. I told her that if that was indeed the case, she should have given me fair notice on 5/16. I told her I would not leave the office til I had obtained a physical copy of my records so I could fax them to my trusted ob in Jax myself. After waiting ~1 hr, I announced I could not wait any longer. I told the secretary her office was grossly incompetent (I'm a lawyer) and that her office's failure to exercise due diligence will prevent my from getting ~$2K of disability next week. I told her I'd be calling the office manager, the Agency for Healthcare Administration Hotline, and the Disability Rights Hotline. At this point two other patients stood up to make similar complaints. Then another women emerged from the back of the office and was deeply apologetic. I told ber I wasn't blaming her and the secretary but the office as a whole. The records were finally sent to my ob, but I had to request another extension from HR and will not receive disability pay til 6/20. I face evication for failure to pay rent and may go hungry due to the negligence of this office. I sought the help of a therpaist due to severe PTSD/anxiety, and Orlando Behavioral Healthcare has only exacerbated my anxiety. As a lawyer, I couldn't not call them out and speak for patients who don't have the ability to speak for themselves. Don't go here...I will not be returning and will seek health elsewhere. I'm a patient with complicated physical health...I've seen dozens of specialists and easily got into Mayo Clinic...but I've never dealt with an office as incompetent as Orlando Behavioral Health. Just a thought - maybe pay your doctors less and make sure you have enough staff to take care of your patients first. This office is pathetic and I've already cancelled my next appointment.

So I called and the woman on the phone said they were having issues with the calls/texts and they would probably reimburse me. Yet two minutes later she calls back and says that they did send a text and I didn't respond so i would be charged $50. I absolutely got no texts or calls. This place is an absolute joke. I would rather take my business somewhere else. You should as well! 6/25/19 update: still no call back from a manager after calling and leaving 3 messages with their associate.

Torn esophagus: This…read morewas a second -rate experience from start to finish. Unfortunately, my wonderful long - time GI retired, and Dr. Sprung was highly recommended by a friend. I needed an esophageal dilation. Admittedly , it had been awhile. I've had many done successfully over 28 years. Probably at least 25. I woke up the morning after the upper endoscopy regurgitating and knew something was off. There was no communication from Dr. Sprung , despite 3 phone calls to the office over several weeks. Somewhat unprofessional, dated- type of practice and outdated approach, in my humble opinion. Dr Sprung had not heard of Dupixent for EOE which was surprising. Every other doctor I've spoken to has sung its praises since it was approved by the FDA recently for EOE. Its all over the internet. In my opinion, Dr. Sprung did not properly handle my G.I. issues, including the procedure ( a tear with bleeding which he acted like was normal) and the lack of follow up and much needed medications to help alleviate new persistent symptoms which led me ultimately to the hospital after many ER visits over an entire month. (gastritis, belching , spasms mimicking food impactions, etc.) When I finally reached out AGAIN 7 weeks post - procedure to ask pertinent questions, the woman on the phone (same last name as Dr Sprung) appeared annoyed, and when I politely asked, she sent the same report I had been given initially with her own hand scribbles on the top. Further, she called my initial review here "inflammatory," yet the only thing inflammatory is what Dr Sprung managed to do to my esophagus- its been inflamed beyond belief. I have been far worse after the procedure. I could eat solid foods before (maybe there was occasional difficulty) but now I'm still struggling on a soft diet. I've lost 10 pounds, as a result. Despite my phone calls, Dr Sprung did nothing further post- op.. His kind staff upfront only screened calls. Even my concerned best friend called while I was in the hospital for 3 days and there were no return phone calls to my knowledge . I was forced to find a new team to manage the ongoing symptoms. Im so thankful I did. Never in my 28 years of receiving quality medical care for my eosinophilic esophagitis have I had such a poor experience and outcome resulting in numerous ER visits, a hospital stay and a variation of persistent new symptoms with no resolution from this practice . If you have a complex GI issue such as EOE, my advice is to please go elsewhere. EOE perforations are no joke. This procedure cost me and my family 2 1/2 months of pain and stress.
