I just can't even try anymore, never been at a dentist for 2+ hours just to have them clean my teeth for 8 minutes. The office is conveniently located on the I-30 frontage road with access from Ralph Hall so getting there was very easy. Everyone in the office was very friendly and helpful and my wait was less than a minute for my 9:00 am appointment. Since I was a new patient, they did a full mouth X-ray and periodontal exam. After that was complete, Mary (Courtin) introduced herself and discussed what they had discovered and a plan to keep me healthy. Together we looked at my X-rays (both new and previous X-rays obtained from my prior dentist), and discussed treatment options for areas of concern. Mary is very easy to talk to, and made me feel comfortable right away. You can tell that she has a passion for her job which is something that I feel is very important. Before doing any work, Mary's receptionist brought me a breakdown of the work that needed to be done with prices and expected insurance coverage. I've never had any medical professional do this before and was grateful to know what I could expect to be paying upfront before any work was completed. I could do everything right then, or pick the things that fit into my time constraints and budget. I had a full deep cleaning, as well as repair on a old filling, and in spite of being upside down in the chair for a bit, had no discomfort what-so-ever. Now (24 hours later) my mouth feels just fine and I'm relieved that I've found a dentist who is friendly, thorough, and professional. I can recommend Coutin without reservation to anyone looking for a good dentist in the Rockwall area, and am looking forward to a long relationship with Mary and her staff.

Steer clear of this place…read more Billing practices are questionable. Management was insanely rude. My husband and I both had awful experiences here and immediately found an alternate team. My husband had botched implant prep here with his dentist being hired and fired within the same month. When he went back for follow-up and placement with a new dentist they paired him with a provider that's out of network with our insurance (we had no idea that their team all take different insurances and they don't disclose that to you). We've called 3 times to have our claim submitted to insurance and it still hasn't been done. For myself, the cleaning tech was wonderful but then I met the dentist and he started making wild claims and recommendations about the condition of my teeth post-pregnancy. As a nurse practitioner I felt very uncomfortable by his bedside manner and sales behavior. I asked for a copy of my x-rays and the recommendations for a second opinion 4 times between phone and email and never received them. This office doesn't care about your budget, respecting your insurance policy, or adhering to a less is more/conservative approach. If you do decide to be treated here keep a close eye on your paperwork and research everything. In the mean time, I'm still working hard to get my booking deposit back (yes they make you pay $75 just to book a cleaning).

Most Dentists will happily keep on going when you wave your hand but Dr Ben was very attentive and skillful in his application of local anesthesia. When I entered the office I noticed that there weren't as many people being treated at the same time as in the other offices. I was there early and had seen only the prior patient leaving. I asked Dr Ben why he didn't have more people stacked concurrently like the other offices and he said because he wanted to minimize the potential of cross-contamination. This is important during COVID. This is when I realized that Dr Ben cares more about his customers than his pocketbook. I'm definitely going to be back for any further needed work. Thank you Dr Ben.

Today, I'm giving it 1 because they have more patients than they can handle. I went in on 7/9/2018 for a cleaning and because I had a pretty bad cavity. The dentist worked on my tooth and at the end of my appointment, told me it was pretty deep so that there is still a chance it could need a root canal. He specifically told me that if I felt pain in that tooth or it became sensitive to give them a call so that I could get the root canal scheduled. Today, 7/23/2018, I called because since leaving the dentist on 7/9/2018, my tooth has been sensitive. The pain has been getting worse, so I called to find out how much it would cost to get the root canal. The lady that answered said they don't normally call insurance to find out the coverage information until the day before the appointment and that is when they would tell me how much it would cost. Well, I'm not going to schedule an appointment to get work done until I know I can afford it. She ended up looking at my chart to see if they had the estimate listed from my previous appointment, and thankfully they did since they obviously weren't going to go out of their way to find out. After finally getting an estimate, I asked to schedule an appointment to get the root canal done. After waiting on hold, the lady said that she can't schedule me for a root canal because my chart stated that I didn't need one on that tooth. I explained to her AGAIN that the dentist told me just 2 weeks ago that there was a possibility of needing one and that if it started to hurt, that was a sign it needed a root canal and to call to get it scheduled. She said the best she could do is schedule to get my crown put on and during that appointment I could tell the dentist about the pain/sensitivity and he could look at it during that time and determine what needed to be done. I asked her, "So, you're telling me I have to come in to get my crown put on, but tell the dentist I don't actually want my crown put on because of the pain I am experiencing in my tooth. Then have him look at my tooth a 2nd time just to schedule another appointment for a root canal that he already told me I could possibly need?" - She said yes, that I might not even be able to get my root canal done that day and that it would depend on how busy they were! Frustrated, I told her to just schedule me for the next available appointment since I was in pain. The next appointment isn't until 8/2/2018!! So now I am in pain, have to wait 10 days to get in to see the dentist, and on top of that there's a good chance I won't even be able to get the pain taken care of that day and will have to schedule a separate appointment to get my root canal done once the dentist confirms that I need one, even though he already said there was a chance of needing one. I am beyond disappointed in how this place has changed in the past couple years. Once I get my tooth squared away here, my husband and I will be finding a new dentist office.

I am very disappointed with my experience at this office. We received inconsistent information from…read moredifferent providers about my husband's treatment. Initially, we were told that both impacted wisdom teeth needed to be removed with bone grafts. Later, another provider said only one tooth would need a bone graft. When we finally met with the oral surgeon, she advised us not to remove the right impacted tooth because it was lying sideways, very close to the nerve, and could cause permanent numbness. We ended up removing only the left tooth. The billing was just as confusing. We were charged for one hour of IV anesthesia (four 15-minute units), but the timeline simply doesn't add up. I left the treatment room at 1:03 PM, and my husband didn't even have an IV yet. At 1:33 PM, a staff member told me the procedure was finished and asked me to bring the car around. My husband walked out at 1:45 PM. When I questioned the one-hour anesthesia charge, I was told it included recovery time. That explanation did not make sense to me, especially when the actual sedation time appeared to be much shorter. Patients deserve clear communication, consistent treatment recommendations, and accurate billing. I have requested a detailed explanation of the charges and hope the office will review and correct them. Until then, I cannot recommend this practice.
