The representative of Apria is not very helpful and when you get their therapist they try to help you. But they make promises that they don't keep. And the representative doesn't care about what they say or do. If you can get another service for CPAP machine problems go to another service. I think that is sad. Apria Healthcare in Oxnard engaged in outright credit card fraud by storing my payment information without my consent and charging me before I even received a bill! I picked up an item and later discovered that Apria had kept my credit card on file without my knowledge or authorization. When I received a bill with incorrect insurance details, I called to correct it--only to find out they had already charged my card 12 days earlier! To make matters worse, I contacted Apria's corporate office and learned that Oxnard is required to get authorization from patients before storing payment details--which they absolutely did NOT do. This is a blatant violation of trust and proper billing practices. If this isn't credit card fraud, I don't know what is! For over a week, I've been trying to schedule a pickup for their equipment--over 500 lbs worth--that we no longer need. My mother has been using oxygen equipment and receiving service from Apria for many years. She was moving from Ventura, CA to Oceanside, CA. It should be simple but that has not been the case. She was told that she could take her existing equipment with her but she would have to pay over $150 to do so. She declined and said that she would leave the equipment there in Ventura to be picked up and have new equipment delivered to her new address in Oceanside. The order was placed and the equipment was delivered to my home in Oceanside on Friday, March 28. The portable tanks cannot be filled due to a defective machine. The equipment in Ventura was supposed to be picked up on Monday, March 31. No one ever came to the home to get it, as there are Ring cameras as proof. The branch lied and said no one was home; the equipment was on the patio near the front door. Finally, after my mother signed some form they came and picked it up on Tuesday, April 1. There was supposed to be a troubleshooting visit for the portable tanks not filling at her new address in Oceanside. Now they will not come and help her because Apria stated that her order for oxygen expired in 2023! WHAT???? How did she have oxygen equipment and service paid for by her health insurance throughout 2024 and into 2025 thus far? They keep canceling and are now threatening that all they will do is come to pick up the equipment from Oceanside. She is unable to make it to her doctor's appointment today because she has no oxygen to make it to the appointment. When I call all they say is that the order is expired. She has called the old doctor and even the new one. We have both called Apria so many times that it is just too much. Apria has failed my mother as a patient who needs oxygen 24/7 to live. They have shown that they only care about money and not about the patient. Somehow Apria got my information, and begun an intense marketing campagne to get me to become their customer. Emails, mail and phone calls did not stop. I had used them once many years ago, and swore I would never do business with them again. I ended up sending them a legal "cease and desist" letter, then they finally stopped. I firmly believe this company takes advantage of this position and therefore treats their customers with utter disrespect. Phone calls are not answered, voice mail messages are not returned, hold times are in excess of an hour, and once you do get a live person on the phone you find that they are in a call center in the Philippines with little to no ability to help you. This is the 2nd time in 10 years I've had to deal with Apria and it seems that very little to nothing has changed to improve customer service and satisfaction. It is my understanding that they are to contact me to get my CPAP machine. Didn't happen the 1st time and now the 2nd. My sleep study was 2 months ago. My doctors office put in the order and BC/BS has processed the authorization and sent it to Apria again, 2 months ago. Based on my 2 experiences which the 1st was similar but was mostly handled rudely as if I worked for them and should know how their system works, and other reviews and comments, Apria clearly thinks we need them more than they need us. Well, since this company is the only choice I have according to my insurance company, that statement is accurate. What to do, simply deal with it? Please go with any other DME company because Apria Healthcare in Oxnard don't give a damn about what you need. I received authorization in December of 2022, call to schedule the delivery and was told yes, we got the paperwork but some information is missing. Followed up with my physician immediately and called apria again to confirm they had the updated paperwork they said yes. I scheduled the delivery for that Friday, no delivery was made. Called apria again and was told they don't have any paperwork for my order. Funny after I gave the name of the person I spoke, the dates and time magically they knew what I was talking about, they schedule a delivery for Friday, but the young woman on the phone said they are behind since Covid they have had problems keeping up. Needless to say no delivery was made by Apria. I called Anthem Blue Cross and a case manager stated they would get the issue resolved, again the case manager was told they didn't have paperwork for me.... Sounds familiar... Apria magically located the paperwork and said they would deliver on Friday. After 3 months of lies from various staff at Apria and one of the reps laughing on the phone while reading all the notes saying "oh yea I see in the notes you were told that already, and yea we got the all the paperwork." I have never left a negative review of a business. First they tried to give me the wrong brand product, saying that my prescription did not list Medela as the brand. After having them check 3 times, they admitted it did, but they didn't have it in stock. They said they would order it and hopefully have it later that week. The next week I called back. They said they were ordering it that day, and that the manufacturer was out of town last week so they couldn't order it earlier. They said it would be in this week. When I called the NEXT week, they said that my insurance hadn't approved the product, even though insurance had approved it before the first time I ever contacted them. They said they were trying to get insurance approval and then they would order it. It should be in this week. Keep in mind this was two weeks AFTER they told me they would order it. I am having problems with this company. Last year I got my new CPAP machine last year. I was told that that my insurance were to cover 100%of the costs. A couple of months ago I started to get billed for the CPAP machine and when I called the billing department, they tell me that I am not in compliance in using the machine. My son got sick and we needed a nebulizer. Our doctor recommended Apria. We paid out of pocket $170. I looked up the same unit on amazon and found it for $50. It was too late to return. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. After paying out of pocket, they charged our insurance which took the money out of our HSA account. They then told my insurance that the payment was not required. It's been a year since we made he purchase and we get a bill almost every month saying we owe them money and are past due. We also are yet to get the money they owe us back Calling the company is like pulling teeth. I have spent hours on the phone with them trying to stop receiving a bill I don't owe. I call and talk to an idiot, they transfer me, then get hung up on. I call again and the same sequence of events happens at least three times. I finally talked to someone who could help, after 2 hours on the phone. I ask the person to call me back at a certain time, because I had a meeting at work. They call me back an hour late and I'm in another meeting so I can't answer. They then say they have cut a check on 1/10... I still haven't received a check This company absolutely sucks. If you have any other option, don't go here. It's over priced and customer service is vile. It doesn't take 11 days for a check to come in the mail. I will sue you and collect interest. I will take you to court for holding my money when you immediately notified my insurance they overpaid. They call me and leave me a message and when I call back they hang up on me after having been on hold for a long, long time. So I give up! An ex employee told me that CPAP patients did not get very much attention because they were not made priority as there is not much profit as in other services like oxygen, that often times the CPAP orders and sleep test follow ups would just sit there for weeks or months and no one would touch them until they got escalated by either the doctor's office or the patient. CPAP customers need to be treated with high levels of urgency, being sleep apnea cause of so many heart conditions. With this complaint I'm really speaking more for our older folks who get the run around so much and struggle so much for service. read more

We are waiting for a CPAP machine for my husband who is in the "severe" category of sleep apnea. His doctor would like him to have the machine before his upcoming surgery. We understand there is currently a shortage of machines but Apria is doing nothing to expedite the order. The machines are shipped from Kansas and Apria will not let us pay extra and get 2-day shipping. His sleep apnea home testing equipment came from SleepMed with 2-day air and if Apria wanted to provide good service they would let us pay extra and get 2-day air on this machine as well. Even though they know there is a backlog of orders, Apria is doing nothing to improve the situation. I needed crutches for after my foot surgery and for two weeks prior to the surgery it seemed it would be impossible to receive them before my surgery. I called my doctors office and told them I just give up with that place and it was too late to request crutches from other facility. I called this place about ten times and only spoke to one person!! I had Covid (fully vacinnated) and ended up being hospitalized. When I was discharged the doctor ordered home oxygen. My daughter went to the Oxnard location to pick it up before coming to pick me up at the hospital. They weren't allowing anyone inside the store so there were instructions to call the number and tell them you were here. She called for over an hour and no one answered. She honked. She finally went in the back to find someone. All in all it took her THREE HOURS to pick up my oxygen which meant I was waiting about that long to get out of the hospital. It was awful. I realize we're in a pandemic but especially for this kind of business when so many people are relying on oxygen equipment. Calling Apria requires lots of time. Hold times for calls is 30 minutes, at no time get right through. Lots of options on the menu, but none answer to the specific request. Have had rude personnel from what appears to be a regional center. Respiratory patients should not have to wait 30 minutes for a call to be answered. read more

I have been a forced customer for over twenty five years. Anytime you call for any reason you will get transferred around until you get back to where you started. The local Oxnard office will make an appointment and change it two or three times. When you arrive for your appointment you will sit in line with five other customer that have the same appointment time. When to try to tell the tech about any issues you may have they won't listen. They will do what is easiest for themselves. They treat you like you are a burden and are annoyed if you try to tell then anything. So don't talk! My insurance will only authorize this location. I have never dealt with a company this impossible. After a runaround getting approval to trade in a defective BIPAP machine, I had to drive an hour each way myself for the trade. I was told to call upon arrival because the door was locked. When I did call, no one answered and their voicemail was full! Finally "snuck in" when someone else left. Since then, I've gotten a rental bill every month even though Anthem covers this equipment. Monthly calls take 30-60 minutes before anyone picks up. Then they check and tell me to ignore the bill. The last time I contacted Anthem instead. Anthem rep contacted Apria and confirmed coverage. Now this month I get a letter telling me I have to provide required documentation within 10 days. Wth? They also say (1) they don't get the electronic information about my usage and (2) electronic info shows too little usage. Wth?
