I've received four or five visits after getting my hearing aids. It was really a miracle to hear things. I haven't heard in many years. Even though the hearing aids are expensive, they do exactly what they're expected to do. I can walk around during the day or drive Listening to music that nobody else can hear. I just got off the phone with Applied Hearing Solutions. I live 400 miles away and was very impressed with them after watching a video on line, and figured It would be worth the drive. I told them I was interested in getting a thorough hearing exam and having my hearing aids adjusted. They gave me a price on the hearing test and said a deposit would be necessary, I definitely understand that. I then asked about the cost to get my hearing aids adjusted and they said that would be covered in the consultation. I explained I was driving 400 miles and a ballpark idea would be helpful. It would be covered in the consultation and that's the way they do it, I was told. The lady was nice as could be. I asked, so I'm supposed to drive 400 miles without even a ballpark idea of how much it's going to cost. That's how we do it. Fortunately I checked the reviews and found one customer's experience VERY helpful with him explaining all the charges and services you have to sign up for whether you want them or not, approx. $2,500. I don't mind the $250 hearing exam and maybe $350-$500 to adjust my hearing aids but to tack on $2,500 in unwanted services is not working for me. So I have hearing aids, from "Hearing Life" at 40 st and Bell, which used to be "Metro Hearing". They adjusted them last week and I can't hear a thing. I called this morning and they told me they can get me in for an appointment in about a month! I'm supposed to go without hearing for a month! So I called "Applied Hearing Solutions" at 40st and Union Hills and I got an appointment for tomorrow morning! Needless to say I am no longer a patient of "Hearing Life". I'm the newest patient of "Applied Hearing Solutions." The person at "Applied Hearing Solutions" was very cordial and sweet and understood my dilemma. The "Hearing Life" person was a robotic drone like adolescent. Was visiting from Texas and needed to find an Audiology clinic asap and on a Friday. I called this location based on wonderful online reviews and within an hour we were there. I feel like I hit the jackpot with these people. They were extremely professional, kind, and caring! Diane was my first contact on the phone and she was amazing!! I have luck to find Dr. Olson after just 10 days of browsing through hundreds of highly biased, misleading, disappointing sites. After watching most of Dr, Olson presentation (ALL of them was realy useful) I can not resist to share my excitement about the UNBIASED information he presented. And only couple of hundred thousands of clicks, while more then 30 millions people with hearing problem only in US need it. One of the most desirable information was about IqEarbud Boost- fully adjustable and even self adjustable device available. In a nutshell, Dr. Cliff Olson changed my life for the better! I'd like to begin by saying that I'm leaving this review after being under Dr.Olson's care for a year. I wanted to make sure I left a review after several office visits and time wearing my current hearing aids to share my experience. Dr. Olson is the 3rd hearing professional to treat my hearing loss. The 1st guy was an audiologist with 30+ years experience, the 2nd person I went to was an Audioprosthologist, basically a hearing aid sales person. I thought I was receiving adequate care for my hearing loss until I had my first appointment with Dr.Olson. The difference in the level of care was incredible! I found Dr.Cliff via a web search for top rated audiologists in the Phoenix area and was thoroughly impressed by his reviews and watched many of his YouTube videos before deciding I needed to make an appointment with him. His practice is super busy and so it was a few weeks before they could get me in to see him. It was worth the wait! My first appointment and test was 90 minutes long and seriously the most comprehensive evaluation I've ever had done on my hearing. I'd never had any hearing professional spend so much time with me or perform a Real Ear Measurement test. He listened to my concerns and even tweaked the programming on the old set of hearing aids I came in wearing as they were not programmed correctly to my prescription at all. He did NOT try to sell me new hearing aids or anything, which was both shocking and refreshing. This appointment was literally just an evaluation and him taking the time to explain my hearing loss to me in detail and listen to my concerns. Dr. Olson was very upfront by telling me that if I wanted him to treat my hearing loss it was going to require a time commitment on my part as several appointments would be required to fine tune my hearing aids and the programming. I immediately said yes. His office is 70+ miles from home but after finding an audiologist as good as Dr.Olson, I didn't care, it was worth it! I decided to upgrade my hearing aids on my own, with no pressure from him whatsoever after some time under his care. He gave me several options to choose from that fit my needs and lifestyle best and did NOT push the most expensive models or those with features I didn't need or wouldn't use. The other hearing professionals I went to before Dr.Olson spent maybe 10 minutes on 'treatment' and the rest of the appointment in salesman mode trying to close a sale.   If you're looking for an ethical, professional and amazing audiologist who truly cares about his patients, Dr. Cliff Olson is your man. I'm hearing better than I have in years thanks to him taking the time to get my prescription right. My quality of life has improved in more ways than I have time or room to mention as a result of being under his care. A few other things worth mentioning in this review are listed below. I'm so grateful to have found Dr. Olson and recommend him to anyone who has problems with their hearing. The office runs a tight ship when it comes to appointments. They respect your time as a patient by seeing you on time, every time. Walt McClellan 3/16/2021 After 12 years and two different sets of hearing aids, I can finally hear again thanks to Dr. Cliff Olson. I'm from out of state and we travel to Arizona in February. After doing extensive research for help with my hearing, I came across videos by Dr. Olson. I was immediately impressed by his passion to help individuals with hearing issues. I could see he had a wealth of knowledge he could share with those wanting to become a more informed consumer. The best practices he follows is just one example of how he determines the best hearing aid match for each individual patient and their specific needs. We visited Applied Hearing Solutions in Phoenix to see Dr. Olson. He met with my wife and me and through a series of questions and answers he was able to determine how best to meet my specific hearing needs. He then completed extensive hearing tests and ear measurements and recommended custom ear molds to give me the best chance for hearing clarity. I returned for my fitting of the Phonak Audio P90 hearing aids and could not believe the difference. Dr. Olson had tuned them to my prescription, and I could hear clearly again. Things I had not heard in a long time. I could hear the turn signal and the radio without blasting my wife out of the car. After returning to Ohio, Dr. Olson was able to make fine tuning adjustments virtually. It has been an adjustment for me, hearing sounds around our house that I've not heard in years. It is great to no longer need to use a Bluetooth device to hear the TV. My wife and I can now watch TV together at a comfortable volume. I am so pleased to be hearing the birds sing again and to clearly hear my friends and family without asking them to repeat things over and over again. If you are in search on an Audiologist who has the passion and drive to help others with their hearing problems, as well as the knowledge to get his patients in the right product for the best outcome, I highly recommend Dr. Olson. I recently visited Applied Hearing to investigate getting hearing aids. I specifically picked them out because of the knowledge they seem to have of the products that are available across multiple manufactures. They also seem to be superior in terms of fitting and matching your prescription. When scheduling the appointment they will collect a deposit over the phone of $250 and collected an additional $69 at the time of the appointment ($319 total). I found the hearing aid exam, speech in Noise test and auditory evaluation to be good tests. So after the testing they go into costs: For the hearing Aids they were charging $5290 for the pair (Phonak Audeo Paradise P90). They also require a fitting (4 visits remote or in person) which is $1545. They also require a service plan of $945 (1 year) for a total of $7780. I went home and did some research and found the same make and model of hearing aid for $2899 for the pair with remote fitting (fixyourears.com). I called and asked why they were charging $2391 more for just the hearing aids and did not really get an answer. They also said the $945 service plan was required and you could not just pay for visits as needed. The fitting fee I really do not have a problem with. If they feel their process is worth $1545 customers may indeed find value in that service. However charging almost double for the same hearing aid, and requiring a service plan is crossing a line. I am sure this is why they wait to collect your $319 for a visit before they tell you about their inflated prices. From my experience I think Applied Hearing is good at what they do but are deceptive in the way they approach customers. I think most people would be upset if they realized they paid double for their hearing aids. read more

After poor experiences with two previous to thoroughly explain my hearing difficulties after conducting a battery of hearing tests. Unlike the previous two docs, he was spot on with his diagnosis and prescription. He fitted me with the devices I wanted and needed and tested me even further to ensure they worked in multiple environments. Thanx to Dr. Cliff, I went from not wearing my devices on occasion to wearing them 14 + hours a day. And while my previous doc was unable to find any devices that would be covered in full by my insurance, Dr. Cliff found and prescribed them with zero copays. Kudos to who I believe is the best audiologist in the country. Not just for his outstanding customer service and his informative videos, but for his superior effort to go the extra mile with his customers without breaking the bank. It was well past time to update my five year old hearing aids, and having learned the lesson not to buy aids through the mail hoping they'd work, I searched for the best audiologists around. It didn't take long to see that Applied Hearing was the top rated place, and now I know why. Dr. Altus patiently and thoroughly brought me up to date on options and fine tuned my new aids to the point I'm now hearing better than anyone around me! Voices all of a sudden are clear and "what" or "huh" are rarely heard in this house anymore. Streaming from the phone, computer and TV is amazing - like being in a theater! Ever since finding Dr. Olson and his practice, it has been life changing for both my husband and me!! From the onset, he is always thorough, conscientious, available, and provides extensive care for all aspects of hearing and protecting the ear. He is always available for check-ups cleaning, checking, calibrating and ensuring the hearing aids are functioning perfectly. He taught us ways to carefully clean the ears, as well as how to use and maintain both hearing aids. Prior to finding Dr. Olson, my husband had severe hearing loss for many, many years and could not find hearing aids or care which made any impact. Now...he hears perfectly!! Dr. Olson has extensive knowledge, great demeanor, and terrific ongoing care plans to provide the best possible experience. He specifically addresses each patient's unique hearing loss situation. His entire staff is courteous and caring at every turn. Also, my husband swims and had issues with water in the ears; Dr. Olson suggested custom molded ear plugs to prevent any water from getting into the ear. They work perfectly!!! Most importantly, during COVID-19, Dr. Olson instituted safe practices to ensure his patients received care. We arrived at his office, dropped off the hearing aids in secure box outside his office, and then staff comes to get them (all with gloves, masks and going above and beyond to be sanitary). After Dr. Olson thoroughly provides the service (also wearing sterile gloves, etc.) ranging from removing humidity/liquid, to checking computer generated history of the hearing aids, etc.) they place the hearing aids and replenishment of supplies (was removal tabs, etc.) into clean bag and place in secure box.
