They had one of their service techs have a family emergency and asked if I could reschedule to have my dryer looked at. I explained that I had taken the day off already and this was the only day I would be available. So, they were able to squeeze me in with one of the two techs they had. I ended up that I got The Jason mentioned in the reviews. Great guy with a super friendly attitude. He made it seem so simple with the replacement of the belt. I was looking for an alternative to Sears to fix my dryer, because Sears uses subcontractors. Sears…read moremay not mention this when you call them, or they may tell you the contractors work for them, but they are subcontractors. I did not want to deal with that. Plus, with Sears, they make one appointment to come to your home, assess the problem, determine what parts need to be ordered, and ask you to pay for those parts in advance. Then they make a second appointment with you for the repair after the parts have come in, which will have been mailed to your home. If the parts end up being the wrong ones, you get to start over again. I had read of too many nightmare problems with Sears repair, so I researched and found this place. I spoke with Nelson and we set up an appointment. I specifically asked for late afternoon, which turned out to be an issue. Because of that, my appointment had to be rescheduled several times, because they were not in their busy time of the year. Luckily I was not in a hurry. I know I could have called Sears and had someone out immediately, but I wanted to give these guys a shot. Finally the appointment was set, about three weeks later. Again, this was because I was requesting an appointment for after 4 p.m. If I could have done an earlier appointment, the work could have been done sooner. But I tell you this in case anyone needs a late afternoon appointment and it is a certain time of year for them. Justin came out and did the work by himself, even though I have a stacked washer/dryer unit. But he handled it fine. Sears would have sent two people. All Brands Appliance could send two people as well, but they would charge extra for it. And really, there was no need. My stacked unit (the type I had) did not have to be removed from its position. Justin was very polite and neat, too. And they had gotten enough information from me that they were able to have the likely parts on hand for the job. Sure enough, Justin had the right parts to fix my dryer. It was done in one appointment. And at a very fair price. So the work was done in one appointment, not two, which is the way this company tells me they prefer to work (unless it is unavoidable and unforeseen parts have to be ordered). The business of the first appointment is not just to diagnose your problem and then leave. It is to show up with the necessary parts to fix your problem in hand and fix the problem. And I like that business model. Again, it may not always work, if while diagnosing something unexpected comes up. But I like it a lot better than Sears' model. They also have a 90-day warranty backing their work. I called because I thought I heard a sound, and they said if I wanted them to come back out to let them know. But I did not hear it again, so no need. Highly recommend for appliance repair.

A trip to Home Depot and other appliance shops indicated I was looking at $500 to over $700 for a a new compatible dryer plus delivery and installation to replace the noise maker at home. Not knowing what the malady was with the my noise making Whirlpool dryer I decided to call a repair service to see if they could resurrect life back into a machine that had given up. Based on the five star reviews, I selected Tampa Bay Appliance Fix in Brandon. The first good news was that they would be able to send a technician out that afternoon. The second was that the service call fee would be subtracted from the repair work. Five minutes after technician Tim Hart arrival, the drum from the dryer was lying on the floor exposing the worn out parts causing the problem. He had new replacement parts in his van and 30 minutes later the dryer was working soundlessly doing its job. Thanks to the professional work of Tim, the lady of the house was happy and I saved over $500 not having to buy a new dryer. Because it was an older GE long vent dryer it has two blowers and the parts for the secondary blower are very difficult to source. He fixed the switch to get the dryer running again, but we decided against trying to fix the secondary blower fan. Instead, we purchased the newer version of the GE long vent dryer. None of the authorized repair companies further out in the county traveled to South Tampa. Today Monday LG corp lined up a company with horrible BBB rating & Google reviews. I spent over an hour with an online agent to get a different repair company to come out. We'll what happens next. I found one I liked and asked about delivery. He said yes, he delivers and yes, he removes the old appliance. He wrote up the ticket and gave me a discount and a delivery time for the very next day.
