He checked all the valves and orifices for proper function and made sure all burners operated properly. It took him less than an hour and the price was very reasonable. Natural gas grill running! I purchased a Napoleon gas grill and it was installed by another company incorrectly, I had a very hard time and had multiple other companies come out that were a little to no help. STEPHEN from Gas masters came out and truly lived up to their name! The pricing was extremely reasonable and the work was done in about 30 minutes. I called GasMasters on my plumber's recommendation after my hot water heater died. They were able to come out on the same day to evaluate the situation and explain my options. The formal estimate came the next morning, at which time, they were quickly available by phone to discuss things further and schedule the installation. Knowing that I was without hot water, they even rearranged their schedule to get someone the next day to install the new water heater. They are fast, efficient, and considerate. They are good about answering phone calls, although they aren't quite so fast on the email. Their prices are very reasonable. I think the price of our water heater + installation + inspection was not much more than the internet-advertised price of the water heater because they are able to tap into any deductions from the manufacturer and the local energy companies immediately and apply them to the price rather than charging the full amount and leaving the customer to deal with applying for rebates. read more

Gasmasters came to our house in January to fix our fireplace. Charged $85 trip fee and told us that would be applied to the cost of the repair once they ordered the necessary part. Months went by with multiple phone calls and emails made to Gasmasters checking on status, only for them to tell us in September that their parts person left and it was his fault that they never received the part. They came out later in September, ignored the $85 prepayment from the January visit, and the original instructions that included a replacement remote control. Another $85 trip charge was added plus the excessive repair charge. The repairman had no information on the remote request until I asked him to go back to his January paperwork where it clearly stated new remote was needed. They proceeded to come back a 3rd time and attempted to charge us ANOTHER $85 trip fee. In between the last 2 visits, I talked to Richard to schedule the remote visit. Expressed my concern that we were overcharged. He said he would look in to it. We scheduled the visit for the following week. No one showed up. I called and he had no recollection of our conversation and insisted no appointment was scheduled. BOTTOM LINE: IF I CHARGE THEM FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIME I TOOK TO GET THEM TO DO THEIR JOBS AND PROVIDE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY WOULD BE PAYING ME! Called for repair of a tankless water heater, the tech did not know how to troubleshoot the problem and instead charged for 2 hours our busy work cleaning but not repairing the unit. Tech did not call the factory helpline and was ready to leave me hanging with a broken unit. They don't carry the ($20 maintenance kit) parts, so I ordered and replaced the parts myself. When I priced out a replacement unit through them, they were 50% higher than other installers. read more

I have been using these guys for several years specially for direct hook up for natural gas to a barbecue from my house line. I am selling my current home and leak was detected on inspection. It turned out that it was just a very simple fix and these guys did not charge me and were very honest about their repair when they could've easily charge me. While the sales people and installation staff were pleasant and helpful, their after installation service was absolutely awful. They sent someone who was young, winy, rude, confrontational and needless to say very unprofessional to our home when the system stopped working shortly after it was installed. Another major gas appliance also stopped working, both most likely due to a storm event, the company that serviced that appliance was very professional, helpful and considerate. This was the second appliance that Gas Masters installed for me and I found their customer service response one of the worst I have ever experienced when a problem happened after the install. **BUYER BEWARE - Do not waste your money on this company.** They take weeks to provide estimates for their work. When they are finally done making a simple estimate, they give you a vague date range of when they *MAY come in. The truth is, they are not being run effectively and are completely disorganized. Don't believe what they say about deadlines because they will not deliver and when you ask them for specific answers, they literally say "I don't know". Go elsewhere for your business. read more

Do the work yourself, if you can! ...or call someone other than Gas Masters! I had them install a gas stove for me. It was a simple matter of connecting the stove to the existing gas line. The technician didn't bother to check the connections for leaks. When I asked about it, he said "Trust me, I know what I'm doing - it won't leak." He still didn't put soap on the joints to check them. Sure enough, later that day, our family started getting sick and realized that the connection was leaking. We got out of the house and called People's Gas for an emergency repair. They found and fixed the leak. Gas Masters refused to refund my installation charge. Also, by the way, they tell you that if you do the install yourself, you do not get the Energy Conservation Allowance from People's Gas. That is not true. You can get the rebate if you do the work yourself. read more

I have had a horrible experience with the company. I even spoke with Frank Winters the president who told me he would take care of this. We have had a fireplace waiting for repairs and parts from these guys for 7 months. They took the money though. Nothing should take 7 months. Can't get a call back or refund. don't go to these guys with any kind of timeline in mind. over 6 weeks ago i set up an appointment for them to bid a small project. i had to email them two times for the bid after they came out. i should have known, that if you have to chase someone to throw money at them, it will probably be a headache over the entire project. Then, i had to change something and asked for an update, and asked for an update, and called for an update, and then 11 days later i got the update. i accepted the new lower price but they were backed up for weeks to fit you in. two weeks later after accepting the new proposal, they show up to do it with the old proposal but didn't bring digging equipment. that will be another week and a day at the earliest to get someone else who can dig out. I've got something going on that i planned over six weeks ago, "what if i pay overtime" nah they are fine. they don't want money, apparently, they just want the pride of Mastering Gas, time frames be damned. read more
