They sent me the wrong part. I had nothing to do with that.......it took almost two and a half months, seven emails and three phone conversations to get a refund. well, well, well.... i am not surprised that the review service number is so low. allow me to share some of my experience with appliance part doctor. in the beginning we had a good relationship. in fact, i considered us business friends. we weren't neighbors, family, or dinner dates, but business friends!! no follow through on first set of appliances!! but i gave them another chance on customer service. then after i purchased a second set of appliances totaling $3200 their true side really showed. customer service took a turn south. things you want to know prior to purchase: -choose appliances that you specifically want to purchase and take a photo!! -discuss and get in writing what your warranty covers and for how long -make sure the appliance is scratched and/or dented. not damaged! there is a difference. -only complete the sale if you can receive a printed receipt (companies will likely not honor a handwritten receipt) hence, no warranty!! with both parties signing to confirm all persons are aware of all aspects of the purchase including warranty. i asked for a printed receipt over a week ago. still waiting!! they're a local company. and it could be emailed!! i have a handwritten receipt. my warranty for service was denied. and i must pay all costs. it is worth paying more for the appliance and receiving the service you need, rather than to take a chance and receive no warranty and no customer service. rest assured i will not give the staff at appliance part doctor/a & m scratch & dent in monongahela, pa any more of my time nor money!!! i suggest purchase elsewhere. save yourself from a stab in the back!!!!! read more

Ordered a plastic refrigerator shelf from them with a part number given from Samsung. They sent me the bottom shelf when I needed the middle shelf. When I contacted them to return it they sent me several emails making it incredibly time consuming and difficult to return. Email after email requesting pictures, descriptions etc. only to tell me they can't get the part number and I would have to contact Samsung for it. Then sent me an unpaid return label to return the $32 part. Shipping was $20 and I decided it wasn't worth it. I already paid them $50 after shipping and they sent me the wrong part. I should have read the reviews online. So many concerns with their return policy. You're not protected, I would buy from someone else. read more

DON'T BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! These guys should just put on their website that they don't do returns at all. They make you sent back the part and then tell you that since you tried the item they can't take it back. What are you supposed to do if it's the wrong part? Please believe the negative reviews you see. I purchased a product they advertised incorrectly. Once I got it and saw it was incorrect, I called and let them know and they said to send it back. From there, they weren't answering my calls, but picked up when I called from a random number. They barely responded to emails, which typically happened after the call from the random numbers. I finally spent a lot of money shipping the item back and since April 11, they have had their product and my money. They keep telling me I would receive a full refund yet it has never happened. To date, I have been told I would get an electronic refund back to my card and blamed their system for the hold up. Then I was told it would come in the mail, which it never did. Only one person sounded like they were sincere and would refund my money... that was in May and it's now July. They say "customer satisfaction " is their goal, but honestly, taking your money is the goal and they could care less about your satisfaction. I have been trying to wait for them to honor their promises to refund my money, but this is ridiculous. And they can post excuses but I have emails to back up everything I said. Only do business with this company if you can afford to lose what you spent in the event you get an incorrect or broken product because you will never see your money again. Long story. I needed a dryer repair and a wonderful appliance guy came out and told me I needed a new "board". His parts place was going to take a couple of weeks and I pleaded with him to try to find another parts supplier so we could get the repair faster. He was completely hesitant to use someone else, warning me that "all parts companies are not the same" but I insisted. He found the part faster at "PartsDr" and he brought it out for the repair. The part was defective and didnt start/turn on when he replaced the broken one. He reached out to the company and was told he would have to send them a picture of a scanner code or something from the INSIDE of my dryer before they would be able to process the return. My dryer is STACKED on the top in a narrow closet and it takes 2-3 people to detach it and move it down and then put it back up and reinstall it. Not to mention, my rental apartment where the dryer was is in the Florida Keys and the appliance repair guy didnt get near my place very often and had already been there TWICE. The appliance guy reached out to Chris at Parts Dr multiple times to process the return (we are literally talking about like $120 part here... and this was a brand new client for them) and they refused, without him taking that picture (which was basically impossible for him to get... and why should he have to get that from my broken dryer?? When their piece was defective??). Anyhow, I felt SO bad for this appliance repair guy and couldnt IMAGINE this was actually the case, so I got the email contact for Chris and reached out to him. He was very curt and repeated that "he (repair man) knows the return policy" and refused to take the part back. I inquired as to what the policy is for returning DEFECTIVE parts and he told me he could not speak to me as I am not the customer.... he told me that twice, and on the last message said that he would not be communicating with me any more. I have never dealt with someone so unprofessional and unscrupulous. How would they not take a return on a part that is defective?? And the appliance repair guy literally reached out to them the day/day after he tried the part. So it definitely didnt violate any return rules in regards to timing. It was all about demanding this scanned code photo that could not be reached. This is a terrible way to do business, dishonest, and just bad faith. I hope no one else uses them and has to deal with this type of unprofessional lack of ethics. read more

I recently bought a part from them and it turned out I didn't need it but they would not take the part back. They suck in my opinion

Got a dishwasher rack shipped. It came broken and rusted - NOT in the product description. They claimed it wasn't broken when they sent it (like a tine can rusting and fall off and then vanish during shipping!). I complained, and they offered a refund minus 10% stocking fee, but I'd have to pay the shipping myself. Guess how much the shipping cost? Over $62! But the whole cost of the transaction was $68. Uhh, what? Why is this the case? It smells fishy as hell... Ah but wait... In PayPal's terms & conditions: "IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal's Purchase Protection program does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur." So THAT is why the shipping cost is so high. Here's their business model: They ship you crappy damaged products at hugely inflated shipping costs, then when you complain they say "sure, you get a refund, minus 10%, but pay the shipping", and PayPal is on their side. I was skeptical ordering from Appliance Part Doctor at first, but I'm glad I did. The part I needed to repair my dishwasher (a Vapor Valve) was available on other sites for $65 new, or on eBay used from $20 to $30. I found a listing for the used part on AppliancePartDoctor.com for less than $5. Including shipping! Since there weren't a lot of reviews I thought they might not come through, or the part might not be functional, but I was willing to risk $5 to find out. I was happily surprised when the part arrived in a few days and it worked perfectly (although it was pretty dirty - I had to clean it up a bit). Their return policy states no returns if a part has been been "installed, used, or 'tried'", it cannot be returned. Yes, it is documented and I bear some responsibility. Truthfully, it did not occur to me that an appliance part could not be returned if only "tried", as they put it. This to me seems crazy as many if not most appliance repairs require an attempted parts replacement to achieve the correct diagnosis. This is a terrible business model as I will not only never use their website again, but leave negative reviews such as this worth more to the company than my $79 which they are keeping. read more

Ordered and ice maker part from parts dr. That was faulty threw away the old original part and installed the parts dr. Part for my Samsung refrigerator and it didn't work. They refused to replace the part without a picture of my original icemaker part witch I didnt purchase from them. Simple do it yourself install. My trash was picked up that day no way to send them a photo of my original part. Buyer beware. They are not easy to work with at all. My advice is to check other options first. read more

Very disappointing customer service! Ordered an item on a Thursday and couldn't get it shipped because the person who processes Amex credit cards had left early. Note: their website can't process c/cards - charges have to be entered manually! Grunt :-( So I called back on Friday. They processed the order and credit card payment at 12.30pm and I was assured the part would be shipped that day since the order was processed before the cut-off time of 4pm. Today, the following Tuesday, I get a notice that the shipment was only processed today!! When asked why, I was told "The girl who processes shipments wasn't in on Monday". Well, why wasn't the shipment made the previous Friday!? No answer. Then, the customer service agent bluntly asked: "Well do you want the item or do you want to cancer the order?"
