The owner is point of contact for everything, so there not multiple people to deal with & waiting for someone on their day off. The price is based on the granite you select - different patterns are different prices per square foot. Also, there's a cost to make a cut for a sink & for fancier edging. I happened to select a pricey granite. I was directed to go to a warehouse along RT8 in Shaler Township where they had thousands of slabs. I picked the one I wanted. Luckily, one slab was enough for my job. The work was done in two phases, based on my moving in. While I was here for a week, the old counter tops were removed. After I settled-in, the new ones were installed. Top Tier did all the work, including the plumbing hook-up. I got a new sink & kitchen faucet as part of the change as it seemed foolish to keep the same old faucet. There have not been any issues.

We would have cancelled the order or Top Tier would have had to rework. Most other granite companies advise where the seams are up front. Very disappointed. Large investment to have this happen. We heard about A.V. Carpentry through a friend, so we reached out. They responded SUPER QUICK. They took a look at our project, gave us a detailed estimate, and we ultimately went with them. Within a matter of days, they were over here doing work! All of their guys were super polite, they let us know ahead of time when they were coming AND SHOWED UP ON TIME. The work A.V. Carpentry did on the project was really good. They really nailed the fine details and were fantastic to work with. I will definitely use them again for future projects!

Their communication throughout the project was excellent, and they effectively managed subcontractors and handled unforeseen challenges with ease. We were especially impressed with the work done directly by Avery, Niko, and Joel: when they were working, progress always moved quickly. Avery will be our first call the next time we have a project.

She was very patient, very knowledgeable and super helpful in the process. She actually even had a sample of the floor we chose and a white cabinet that we were able to put up against the slabs to make sure it all worked together. The gentleman that came to do our template was so friendly and detail oriented. He took his time to make sure everything was perfect and answer any of our questions. We were able to go back to Choice Granite and select what sections of the slab would be used and where. You could tell the pride they took in their work and were so dedicated to getting it just right. The install day came and the install team was fantastic. They were efficient, professional and very friendly. Everything went smoothly. The finished product is awesome! You can tell just how much time they put into make sure everything was perfect. The backsplash lines up perfectly with the design on the actual counter etc. They were a true pleasure to work with and I'm so thankful that our contractor took us there!

The template guy was thorough and accurate. Fabrication was completed on the day they promised and the install team was punctual. They took care not to damage any of the rest of the house during the install process. Worth noting that due to an error on my part, they had to make a second trip to install a part of the countertop. Pricing was reasonable given the scope of work we requested, which included substantial hand-prep for the hearths (curved to fit the fireplace). The install techs are pretty quiet, but I'm paying them to install countertops, not to talk my ear off. They were certainly professional and the install was perfect (incl a seam that was flawless). I can't speak to the old reviews here, but I had numerous interactions with the office staff, the install manager, and the team- everyone was professional and courteous. They delivered exactly what they said they would, and the price I was quoted.

Pittsburgh's Best Remodeling was great to work with from start to finish. Missy was our initial contact. She listened to all our ideas, spent a long time looking over and measuring the space, and later presented us with a design plan that was exactly what we had in mind. Every worker who came into our home was polite, friendly, and always willing to answer any questions or explain things to us. They were all skilled craftsmen who paid attention to every detail. Randy and Mark were the two who spent the most time with us and both were a pleasure to work with, At the end of every day the place was cleaned up as much as possible for the stage of work that was done. Tobey, who managed the project was a delight to work with. Sue at the office was another gem on the team who kept us well informed of schedules and responded quickly to all our questions. There were no surprise expenses. We made 2 small changes to the original plan which were the only cost increase over the original quote. I would not hesitate for a moment to hire them for a future home project.

Avoid at All Costs - Total Ripoff by Joshua Schwartz & Artifex Remodeling…read moreI wish I had read a review like this before hiring Joshua Schwartz and Artifex Remodeling because it would have saved me a massive headache and a lot of money. This was, without a doubt, one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a contractor. The Bait-and-Switch Tactic Joshua Schwartz came off as confident and knowledgeable during the initial consultation. He promised high-quality work, reasonable timelines, and great attention to detail. Everything sounded perfect. But the moment I paid my deposit, the professionalism disappeared. Getting responses became nearly impossible, and suddenly, all those "guarantees" were just empty words. Deposit Taken, Then Ghosted After taking my deposit, communication became a nightmare. Calls and messages were ignored, and when I did get a response, I was fed nothing but excuses and delays. Weeks went by with no progress. I had to chase them down just to get vague, half-hearted answers about why the project hadn't started. Poor Workmanship & Cutting Corners When they finally did show up to do the work, it was rushed and completely subpar. Crooked installations, sloppy finishes, and corners cut everywhere. It was clear that they were just trying to get in and out as quickly as possible while still collecting full payment. And when I pointed out the issues? They either ignored me or made excuses. Price Keeps Changing & No Accountability The final straw was when they suddenly asked for more money to "fix issues" that they themselves created! I had already paid them a significant amount, and now they were trying to squeeze more money out of me for their own mistakes. When I refused, they basically walked away and left the job unfinished. Final Verdict - Stay Away Joshua Schwartz and Artifex Remodeling are completely untrustworthy. They will take your money, disappear, and then do shoddy work when they finally show up. Do NOT trust this company. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away and hire someone reputable. You've been warned.
