Over the years, I've had the awesome experience of working with Laura and her team at Apples and Oranges to fulfill personal and business orders. They are beyond extraordinary in every part of their process. I've had different orders printed through Laura and her team including : business cards, custom photos on canvas, a life-size custom print out for my birthday and most recently, (2) "welcome home" banners to welcome my newborn nephew home. The way that Apples &Oranges delivered my most recent order really impressed my family and I, and most importantly, my friend and her family (the person who the banners were printed for). My friend gave birth on a Monday and after I heard, I called Laura at 1:30PM to order a custom "Welcome Home Baby" banner to have an option for visitors to take a picture with instead of the baby (baby was born during the coronavirus). After calling Laura to discuss the order, a follow-up email was sent as a confirmation, then my order was finalized later that day to be ready by Wednesday. The next day (Tuesday), Laura called me at 2:30 PM (just 25 hours after my order was discussed) to let me know the banners were ready for pick-up!!! This is the fastest turn-around I've experienced for anything I've had printed that is this big and custom. The banners are very high quality - you can tell the material is durable so it can be hung outdoors and they look spectacular. There's really nothing I love more in this world than a woman owned business. Pile on top of that a woman who knows her stuff and its a partnership made in paradise. I contacted Apples & Oranges because I heard through the grapevine that this was an enviro-friendly print shop that was close to home. I needed car magnets, menus, t-shirts, & stickers done in a flash and they made sure that they delivered on-time and in some cases under budget. The print quality was outstanding. Laura had a little trouble with my t-shirts and wasn't happy with the way they turned out so she didn't charge me for them. That's customer service. I spoke with Laura by phone over 6 weeks ago in regards to have some business cards printed. She told me she can proceed with the service after i email her the file. I asked my graphic designer to send her the email and she confirmed. Four days later, i called Laura and she said she'll get back to me and that she was swamped with deadlines. Long story short, she never printed my business cards nor responded back to my graphic designer email nor mine. I wouldn't trust Laura to keep her words and complete the work at all. I was working on a project for Boeing Huntington Beach and their team developed fantastic signage with a quick turn around time. We had a difficult job: a DIY wedding template PDF with fonts she didn't have and a less than desirable timeline (~ 1 week). First of all: Laura, the owner, is amazing! When I approached her with a family photo in need of editing, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted; but she was patient, and asked questions to help me get an idea of what I might want. All I knew was that I wanted to edit out a person from the foreground of the photo, but I wasn't sure how else to improve the picture-so I gave her a bit of creative license to see what she could do. She was able to completely remove the person (and their phone!) and added a wonderful story telling quality to the picture by editing the background/coloring of the picture. Her first proof was perfect as is. Her work is speedy and high-quality. Her customer service is above and beyond.
