Well...to start my rant here, I will say that I wish I could give AppleOne a NEGATIVE 5 STAR rating. I signed up for AppleOne in Roseville in May of 2010, which was just a matter of months after I had been given no other choice but to resign from a very good county job (where I had worked for over 10 years) due to my being off work pretty frequently having problems with serious health conditions. After some months of treatment I started feeling better, so I started applying for work again. When I went into the AppleOne Office to meet up with them, I filled out endless loads of paperwork and took several computer application tests as well as a typing test. I did very well on all the computer tests since I had used all the MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) daily for well over a decade. On that first day, the recruiter lady who was assigned to me said that it looked like there was an available position that suited me. Of course, she said they had to get back to me to set up an interview with the employer. That never happened because the job magically became unavailable. Ever since that time almost 6 looooong years ago, I have applied for literally 1000s of jobs on the AppleOne website as well as calling them to check on my applications. They always told me the same BS story that they had nothing available at that time and that I should keep checking back with them. One time a few years ago they actually called me (a miracle...so I thought), and they said they had a positions for me. However, it was for one measly day for 4 hours. Obviously, I accepted it and I was planning on being at the job site on the scheduled day. Then, later that day, I received a phone call from AppleOne where they said that I wouldn't be able to go to that job because I was "inactive in their system". WHAT???!!! How could I be called and offered work at a job site, yet not be active in their system. Yeah...so much time had gone by (years) where they had not hired me for even one lousy job that I became inactive in their system (although it makes no sense at all since I was still fervently applying for jobs on their website on pretty much a daily basis). I actually went into their office again a few years ago to renew ALL that paperwork and take the ALL those computer tests all over again so I could be active in the system again. This was completely useless because still to this day (almost 6 years after first applying there) I have not gotten even one single job. They are the WORST employment agency EVER. I have been in the job market since the early 1980s working in many different industries (including State, County, and other offices...as well as various warehouses, several restaurants, printing companies, computer companies, telemarketing offices, retail sales, and more) gaining a wealth of different kinds of experience. Heck, I actually had paper routes with both the Sacramento Bee and the Sacramento Union newspapers in the 1970s. The only conclusion I can come to is that I am over 40 and that they absolutely discriminate against people over 40 (and especially Caucasian men over 40). What really gets me now is that I completed a degree in Business where I earned a 3.9 grade point average and graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude), and I STILL cannot get a job. Something is VERY wrong here, especially when there are people out there who have jobs in offices and they cannot even come remotely close to formulating a grammatically correct sentence. David Borginis has been absolutely wonderful to work with from the very first contact made with him when I was in need of employment services. I first connected with Dave in Fall of 2020 and landed my first assignment within a matter of weeks. Greatest experience I have had in a long time! I was struggling at my previous job and I was becoming very unhappy. I had been searching for a job for almost a year and still now luck. One day I got a call from a representative from AppleOne her name was Sara Flashman. She had come across my resume and she contacted me immediately. I told her my situation, what I'm looking for and what my goals are with life and the workplace and we set an appointment to meet. I had never of a hiring agency before AppleOne and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had. Sara made me feel confident about myself and I felt heard by her when I expressed what I am looking for. The same day I met with her I got an job interview with another company for the following week. I was so thrilled! Sara was with me every step of the way and has made everything so easy. My experience with AppleOne was greater than any that I have experienced with other employment agencies in the Sacramento area. My recruiter was Mr. Joseph Andrews super polite and welcoming, non judgmental and helpful. He sparked much confidence in me and his ability to find a job that would fit for me. When initially contacting AppleOne I requested a specific assignment which unfortunately I was not chosen for, rather then give up on me or make me feel lesser of an applicant Joseph immediately had another position to apply for in line and I am truly elated to say I did receive an offer for employment from said position and it would seem as though Joseph got to know me better then I know myself, This job is everything I could imagine and more and I cant wait to start. In all this entire process was MAYBE 2 weeks long , just two weeks and I am no longer unemployed but in line for a job with amazing pay great hours and the potential for a career, not just another "job". Following up on my previous review, I noticed the reply from the business manager encouraging me to reach out via email to discuss my experience during my employment through Apple One. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disheartening and failed to meet the legal protections outlined under California Labor Code 230, specifically related to protections for survivors of domestic violence. I had hoped that Apple One would ensure fair treatment of employees, particularly under the circumstances covered by this law. However, since I received no response to my email, I kindly ask that the business contact me via a personal message here on the Yelp app. It's crucial that employees are not further victimized in the workplace, especially when legal protections are in place to prevent this. read more
