If I could give 0 stars I would. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait to be seated despite multiple open tables. They did end up seating us within a few minutes, (in the same tables that were open the entire time) however we sat at the table for nearly 45 minutes without so much as a word from any wait staff. They gave us menus and never came back. The people that were seated within a minute or so before us were almost finished with their meal before we were even spoken to. We left and no one even noticed. Editing to add... we went down the road to Chilis at rock and central and had 1000x better service! 10/10 recommend there instead!!

That's just the way it is. If you're suffering from main character syndrome and need someone to make you feel like mommy's special little somebody, Mulligan's isn't that place. But, if you want to get your beer and your food at some point, you want to have good conversations, you want a clean but hole-in-the-wall bar atmosphere, and you want somewhere that's not crowded from wall-to-wall with self-important hipsters shouting over one another about which fruity sour beer they like most, Mulligan's will fit the bill perfectly. They're usually pretty dead for lunch, with a few "regulars" bellied up to the bar, but the lunch specials are on point. Their Tacos and Pizza's stand out in quality and freshness, but everything on the menu is honestly pretty dang good...for bar food (remember, you're at a bar, not a steakhouse). Evenings and weekends garner a larger crowd, but I've never been there when I would consider it "crowded" or uncomfortable. Tables are well spaced and overall it's just not one of those places that's so crowded and loud that it gets annoying. It's a fantastic place to grab a few friends, belly up to the bar or find a dark corner, maybe shoot a round of pool or put something on the jukebox and enjoy yourself!

Tucked on the periphery of the Wichita State University campus, nestled among frat houses and dilapidated dorms (does anyone even live in Brennan Hall anymore? Is that even a thing?), Field House has been a stalwart since my days as an overly ambitious coed with an ego as unending as the construction on Kellogg. With beer options as varied as Miller Light, as craft as ShockTop, and liquor options that stop just short of Fernet, the Field House isn't for city slickers with perfectly coiffed cowlicks hoping to sample artisan cocktails, and imbibe in sipping tequila. It is however, the perfect spot for those of us in our late 20s and early 30s who never forgot the power of a $5 you-call-it, and the allure of a bartender whom we grew up with, and had a crush on 15 years ago. If you're looking for an economical way to lap away your sorrows and meet a stranger that you'd met once before at the SigEp house a decade or so ago, Field House will deliver. But unlike the days of my reckless youth, I am now old enough to sip my Frio with class, and only occasionally take over the Touch Tunes juke box to put Saves the Day, Panic! At the Disco, and Alkaline Trio on blast. I am also young enough to get straight up drunk on Rumple Minze, eat a bag of cheese Doritos, and toss darts errantly at a dart board or a wall, whichever happens to appear closer at the time.

Wanna pay $4 for less than an ounce of well vodka? Look no further. Extremely overpriced.read more

A Very Disappointing Experience at a Restaurant We've Enjoyed for Years…read more We've been customers of Red Rock Canyon Grill for many years and have generally enjoyed our experiences, which makes our most recent visit particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, this was easily the worst experience we've had at this restaurant, both in terms of food quality and overall service. We visited on a Friday evening during prime dining hours, so we fully expected the restaurant to be busy and anticipated some wait time. We joined the waitlist, but it seemed that accommodating our party of five presented an unusual challenge. The wait became considerably longer than expected, and the seating process seemed unnecessarily difficult. Once seated, we ordered an appetizer and salads, which were generally fine. Unfortunately, things went downhill when our entrées arrived. Our table ordered several different dishes, including the chicken fried chicken, pork chop, shrimp special, and short rib. Disappointingly, not one of these entrées lived up to the quality we've come to expect from Red Rock Canyon Grill. When multiple people at the same table order different dishes and everyone is disappointed, it suggests a broader issue with the kitchen's execution rather than simply one poorly prepared meal. Another disappointment involved the only child in our party. No children's menu was ever provided, so we had no way of knowing exactly what was offered or how the children's dishes were prepared. We ordered a quesadilla, reasonably expecting it to be a cheese quesadilla. However, when it arrived, it contained chicken, which the child did not care for. At no point during ordering did our waitress explain that chicken was included or clarify what we wanted. This could have been easily avoided with a children's menu or a simple explanation when taking the order. Instead, it became yet another unnecessary frustration during an already disappointing evening. The service was equally disappointing. Early in our visit, we specifically informed our waitress that someone in our party was celebrating a birthday. We hoped this would be acknowledged at some point during the evening, but that never happened. After our entrées were delivered, our waitress did not make a meaningful effort to check on the quality of the food or invite honest feedback. When she eventually returned, her approach seemed to assume everything was satisfactory rather than genuinely asking about our experience. There were several opportunities throughout the meal for her to engage with our table, but we never felt that our satisfaction was a priority. As the meal concluded, she became particularly persistent about selling desserts. What made this especially frustrating was that she had already been informed about the birthday celebration, yet she made no effort to acknowledge it or help us make the occasion special. When we attempted to discuss the birthday with her, she seemed to disregard our comments and walked away without addressing them. The experience ended on an equally disappointing note. When it came time to settle the check, our waitress's demeanor seemed somewhat cold and negative. Another staff member ultimately handled the check and returned it to our table. There was little warmth or personal attention, and we left feeling that our business was not particularly appreciated. Perhaps most surprising was the complete lack of management involvement. At no point did a manager stop by to check on our experience, and we never felt that anyone was genuinely interested in hearing how the evening had gone. What makes this particularly frustrating is our long history with Red Rock Canyon Grill. Over the years, we've had many positive experiences, including ordering takeout on numerous occasions. We've especially enjoyed the rotisserie chicken family meal, along with the salads, carrots, and cornbread. Those meals have generally been consistently good, which is why we've continued returning. This visit, however, was a completely different experience. The food was disappointing across multiple entrées, the service lacked attentiveness and hospitality, and a birthday celebration that should have been a pleasant evening became an occasion we would rather forget. We understand that Friday evenings are busy and that restaurants occasionally have an off night. But when the food, service, communication, and overall hospitality all fall short during the same visit, it is difficult to overlook. After years of being loyal customers, we left genuinely disappointed and questioning whether the restaurant is maintaining the standards that originally earned our business. We hope management takes experiences like this seriously, because Red Rock Canyon Grill has demonstrated in the past that it can do much better.
