We popped in at 2:30 on a Monday for a beer and burger. Unfortunately we sat for well over 10 mins the hostess went to get the bartender (she had Bright reddish hair) as soon as we're seated. Well the bartender came out never looked at us and proceeded to train (hopefully her replacement). We were about 10 feet away and tried to flag her down4 plus times. We were the only ones in the bar. The restaurant portion had 3 people. The hostess tried to get her attention as my husband did, but to no avail. We were BEYOND frustrated as we watched her proceed to train this gal on the 2 for 35 deals and how to punch them in. As you can see we were that close. No acknowledging us or even looking in our direction! We decided to get up and she finally came out from the back with the trainee in tow. We said nope we're going. And I proceeded to tell her I could definitely work the 2for 35 in the machine as we listened to it. We walked out and went to next door to wild wings within 2 mins we had a cold beer and our orders were taken. There were a good 15 people in there all getting their drinks and food! This is our first year as winter Texans and applebees will not be one of our weekly places to frequent in the 5 months we are here. Terrible service! Drinks were served in to go ramekins and a "tall" draft (16oz) was actually a 12oz bottled poured into a tall glass because the bartender already cleaned the draft lines (still charged for a "tall" beer), specialty drink wasn't served with sour gummy garnish or whatever. First red flag was when our waitress was taking our orders and my bf asked for a coke and the waitress answered, "dr pepper or sprite" instead of saying they were out of regular coke. Mine and my dads orders were the last to come out, riblet special and mac & cheese with chicken. The ribs were ice cold and the waiter took the plate back. Our second visit to this Applebee's in a week and after reviewing the reviews on this site from other customers, I want to chime in on the bad service. Near the hostess area trash and crayons littered the floor. We were seated and ordered drinks and then ordered our meal. A couple that came in after us received there food before us. Both times the server forgot to bring our silverware. Our food was slow coming out. They got the order right and the food was ok. I ordered the quesadilla burger and it was nothing short of awful. The name alone is deceiving...the burger itself should be called a tortilla burger because there's no quesadilla. Tonight was by far the worst dinner EVER! This is the forth time we get bad service at the same Applebee's location, WESLACO. Gloria the manager is very unprofessional, unpleasant and carries an uncaring demeanor. This isn't the first time we've dealt with her due to the same issues. Every football Monday all the appetizers are half off. Why wouldn't she be fully staffed ? Instead the bartender was taking care of tables, hence tables were waiting 15+ minutes just to put in a drink order, and even longer to place an order of food. She accused the server we requested of stealing "our table" after we flagged him down and requested some assistance Sadly when brought up to her attention Gloria threatened to call the cops if we didn't leave "her restaurant". Soooo guess what I told her ? Lol, that's right, call them, please call them. They came, again. Apparently she's known to call them all the time on customers complaining.
