On 11-13-25 about 9:50pm I called Carter Hill Rd. Applebees for A carry out. I was told they were not taking anymore orders because they was cleaning up so they could go home. I called the Taylor Rd store and asked if they would take my order and the did. Taylor rd. told me Carter hill Rd.should not have closed down early, and gave me the Regional Manager infomation. Applebee's is an old time favorite of ours. When our kids were little, it was our restaurant of choice. My husband and I visited this location for a quick dinner. The parking lot was pretty empty so we figured there wouldn't be a wait. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess who brought us right to our table. I couldn't help but to notice that there were greasy handprints all over the seat. I asked the hostess if she could clean it. She came back with what appeared to be napkins and wiped it. Though that didn't get the handprints off, I decided not to address it further and just sat down. Once seated, I also noticed the windowsill was pretty grungy and could use a good cleaning. Our server came over to greet us and take our order. We got the chicken wonton tacos for an appetizer (I highly recommend!) and my husband ordered an alcoholic beverage. A short while later, our server returned with my drink and let us know the bar was working on my husbands. It took quite a while longer before my husband got his drink. It was odd because there were only about 3 people at the bar. For our main course, I ordered the bourbon chicken and shrimp and my husband ordered the fiesta lime chicken. My meal came out before his and was perfect! Everything tasted fresh! His meal on the other hand was a great disappointment. It wasn't hot, there was a glob of cheese on top of his chicken that appeared to have been melted and then got cold and hardened, and his rice wasn't even room temperature and very Al dente. He was hungry so he still a bit of it but didn't finish it, which is rare for him. Overall I think that this experience could've gone better. Our drinks and food been should've been served at the same time and immediately after they were finished being prepared/cooking. I'm not sure why my husbands food was room temperature at best, especially when the restaurant was pretty empty. We noticed employees sitting around on their phones. I feel like if tables have been properly wiped and areas needing attention/cleaning have been taken care of, then maybe that wouldn't be an issue. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, down time should be used to address areas like cleaning, restocking, etc. read more

Went to lunch with a friend who is leaving town. We just wanted to get in a visit and talk. We were able to do that over a good meal.

Door greater was rude. I forgot my mask in my car, and when I tried to come in she just about tackled me like I had robbed the place! When I came back with a mask on, she asked me to read questions on a board related to COVID, and stated that if I answered no to everything I was "welcome to dine there." I ordered a grilled turkey club, but it came on plain, untoasted bread, thatcher than grilled. Fries were undercooked, and I wasn't offered a refill of iced tea. Pretty poor overall. read more

I'm ride with my parents to Montgomery for the service academy thing that happen the same day, food was ok, the server who took our order was fabulous but the host who acknowledged us was kinda surprising in a idk, bad way, stereotyped me and my parents. Have eaten at this particular location several times, usually for lunch during the week. It is always easy to get at table. Now I know why. Recently went in on a Monday evening for some comfort food and to get out of the heat. Service was slow and it was obvious the server was either new or just incompetent. He wasn't sure which salad dressings the restaurant offered when one of our party requested Italian. They didn't have it as it turns out. Italian is apparently too exotic for this establishment. I ordered one of Applebee's specialty salads, one which I have ordered numerous times at this and other locations. When it arrived, it had no dressing whatsoever and the waiter was MIA. Finally found our waiter busily lending his attention to another of the wait staff chatting about non-work things. He asks me what dressing I want. I said I want the dressing that comes with this particular salad. He clearly didn't understand their specialty salads are created with specific ingredients. When he finally arrived with the dressing in a condiment container smaller than the one that one of our party had received with a small side salad, I looked at the dressing with incredulity. It was not right, but he insisted that is what they told him in the kitchen. At this point, our party was halfway through their entrees and I was in no mood for arguing. Only when we had finished with our entrees were we asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. Just horrible service. The poor ratings for this restaurant are honestly deserved. Now I generally am optimistic about all of my eating endeavors, but after this experience at Applebee's, my views may change. After stopping in Montgomery, AL for the night, we decided to get some takeout. When arriving, I was greeted and gave my order to the bartender. When the food arrived, she was friendly and checked out all of our food. In the process, we realized two of the dishes were wrong. At this point, I wasn't really bothered, as I can understand how this can happen on a busy night. But the next incident was inexcusable for their "Curb-side service." Right as I was leaving, I realized we had no plastic ware. When I asked for some, one waitress looked and could not find any. After coming back empty-handed, another employee went to get them. When she came back, she claimed "Sorry, we don't have any more plastic forks and knives." In all of my experiences with take-out, I have NEVER encountered this phenomenon. But whatever, at least I have my food. When I thought the worst was over, it was just getting started. I was a little annoyed they gave us ranch instead of blue cheese for our wings, but that was the least of my problems. I started eating my chicken penne dish (after I scrounged up some silverware), and about half way through, I noticed something very wrong with the chicken slices. Half of them were literally raw and translucent. Since I was back at the hotel, I could not send it back to be properly cooked. I couldn't believe they served me raw chicken. Another person ordered the Cajun steak, which he described "it tasted like a Salisbury steak TV dinner-style meal." It really looked like the cooks just used way too much tenderizer for the meat, making it way too mushy to be sirloin. All in all, I would have rather eaten out of the hotel vending machine and went to bed hungry than eat the poor quality food that is served at this Applebee's! read more

I ordered the parmesan steak with shrimp and it was pretty great! The cheese was plentiful, melted, and was smothered on top of my steak. The shrimp were good too. However, I ordered medium rare for the steak and it came well-done, not even a half-attempt at medium. Well traveled in from Florida for a military function and instead of eating at a place we were unfamiliar with near our hotel we took the time to travel to a well known favorite. To start off we ordered our food and things seemed ok. The wait staff were to be expected. To start off my husband and my salad came out with our food and they were supposed to be side Caesars and the amount given was less than a $1 McDs salad and the dressing was extremely watery. My husband had an extreme amount of cabbage in his salad which does not exist in a Caesar. We only took a few bites and refused to pay for them or have them replaced since they brought them with our food. Next my hubs ordered a burger and explicitly told the waiter no pickles. Well we received our food mine was fine but they brought him just a plain cheeseburger. It was sent back and thus another was brought freshly prepared with pickles in the meat. After dealing with the burger twice and the manager the salads were removed from the ticket and we were only discounted $4 for our trouble. Worst dinner ever!!! read more

01/08/2018 Usually, I love coming to Applebees for dinner with my mother, but we went during the Alabama vs Georgia game on Monday night. Literally, the worst experience EVER. We walked in and waited 10 minutes before anyone even noticed we were there. The manager just so HAPPENED to look in our general direction and asked if has anyone helped us. After we've been seated, we waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to come. We didn't even know who our waitress was infact. I actually had to tap on the lady in the table next to us and ask, "Do you know who is supposed to be working this section. We've been waiting a while and no one even asked us for a drink." She replied, "Oh honey it's been like this all night. We had to wait a while before anyone came for us." The lady was kind enough to help us FIND the waitress and we flagged her down. (She was too busy watching the game.....) At this point, I had a headache, so my mother and I went ahead and put the ENTIRE order in. (We didn't know what time she'd be back....if she ever came back). She brought out our drinks with our food (which took a while to come) and the drinks were wrong. We didn't want to wait for her to redo them, so we tried to swallow them down. We ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade and honestly it tasted horrible. It was watered down and I'm pretty sure there isn't LIME in LEMONADE. We could tell the drinks were sitting on the counter a good minute. Also it wasn't frozen, it was on the rocks. I honestly just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. After we finished eating (did I mention my food was hard and burnt? You could carve a diamond on how tough that honey BBQ wing was.), we had to play "Where's Waldo?" with the waitress....AGAIN. In conclusion, NEVER COME ON A GAME NIGHT.
