For positives Natali our waiter was very friendly and well organized in placing our orders and ensuring we were well taken care of. The manger Denny was very friendly and welcoming as well. The restaurant was nice and warm from the cold, clean and had an inviting atmosphere. Unfortunately we waited a bit long for our food to come out. I'm not sure if there was a backup in the kitchen. It seemed that everyone's food came out all at once. Tables that placed their entrees well after we placed ours got their food the same time as us. Our appetizers came in a good amount of time however when our entrees came, we sent an entree back because it had the sweet sauce we didn't want on the grilled cheese. In total we waited a bit over an hour for our food. The chicken was really good, the grilled onions paired very well with the garlic pesto and the mashed potatoes. Would get again. The grilled cheese cheeseburger is your typical homemade grilled cheese with a burger patty in the center. The tomato basil soup tasted great as well. Overall we had an okay experience. read more

Most of the time you're waiting for a table when you shouldn't be because they don't bother cleaning tables. Eventually you'll be sat and the tables around you are still dirty. Staff barely comes back after you order. They have food runners so you'll get your food but if you need something you can't order on the tablet, good luck. Food is consistent, tastes good and doesn't take too long to come out. Staff and cleanliness are horrible though. read more

We actually got take out in Thea snowy night. Drive from South amboy to Manalapan. Always get the 2/$20 something deal. Always chicken tender meal and oriental salad with mozzarella sticks. So you raised the prices and cut the portions! No I didn't get a picture because I was too pissed off. My salad with chicken was jammed into a tiny to go box, same with the chicken and fries. I hadn't been to Applebees in a very long time. Now I know why. Ordered 1/2 rack of ribs with mashed potatoes. I have to say the ribs were the worst I've ever had. Ever. They were tough and overdone. Ribs should fall off the bone. These I needed a pair of pliers to get them apart. And it was a very skimpy order. Terrible experience and the check wasnot cheap for 3 of us. Very disappointing. What a excellent experience we had at Applebees in Manalapan nj. Our server Ronica has to be by far the nicest and wonderful server we have had. And to make it even better the bartender Haley was just as sweet. If they can make a video on how to serve and bartend these two should be staring in it. BTW the food was good as well. This is the bourbon chicken and shrimp. I asked the waitress why the meat is so pale and she said this is how it always looks. I asked for extra sauce on the side and she gave me a cup of dry rub seasoning. The waitress sat us down and did not provide us with any utensils. The food came and she asked if we were ok. We all looked at the table with food and no utensils. We had to ask for straws and essentially everything we needed when we saw her waiting another table. Am I the fool for believing it was possible to walk away from a dinner at Applebee's with even a sliver of amicability preserved? I'm currently working on a theory that posits the presence of a chemical compound in Applebee's food that, upon consumption, encourages hostility and antagonism. The first sign that this night was going to end catastrophically was when, along with the menus, we were handed a laminated promotional tri-fold for the new Top Gun movie. The second sign was when I decided to order the fish & chips of all things. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The spinach & artichoke dip was solid -- the glistening of the grease layer on the chips made me nervous, but in a fun way. My friend got the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp -- actually, not too shabby either; he was even able to dip his toe into the clean plate club (the only reason why he wasn't granted full membership status was because he didn't finish the onions, but it's like, "Who eats the grilled onions when there's nothing else left?"). Our waiter was nice and efficient. I'll raise my rating up to three stars if this particular Applebee's puts a photo of me on their wall featuring other random individuals. read more

My wife and I dined on April 30,2024 at this location. I ordered a Santa Fe chicken bowl. It was getting late and we were both hungry after some evening shopping. At first my salad seemed fine but I continued eating and found the chicken to be excessively salty. I mentioned this to my waiter who said he'd mentioned it to chef. After soon arriving home, had diarrhea. Apparently consuming excessively salted food can cause this. The next day I called Applebees and spoke to a young lady (manager) who only wanted to know if I had gone to a medical facility. After telling her that I did not, she told me that there wasn't anything they could do for me. I was really hoping they could win back my business but unfortunately it didn't work out that way. Was on a shopping trip and stop by this Applebee's the host and the server was nice and attended us well the appetizers were good and came very timely. The reason for the 3 Star rating was due to one of the entree's was wrong and things do happen but when you have to wait for 15mins just to have a steak cooked the way you wanted it ordered just doesn't make the overall meals with others go well while you staring at the other members of your party eating and you just there waiting and it was agreed to just have their entree to go at this point. The best part was I believe it was the manager at the time and I state believe be issue the person never identified himself as a manger nor his name finally came and had the entree in aTo Go bag which he mentioned that he heard from our server that we asked for the check and some To Go takeaways. This person says to us "Do you want me to throw it in the trash or you can take it as the second meal as it is a brand new entree" it took a lot to just breath So this person again I believe was the manager had the incorrect entree comp So having. This review is for the Order Pick Up & Go App- Mini-Me and I really enjoy the green goddess salad wedge, so much so we have it at least 4-5 times a month. Although we do "eat in" this was the first time at this location and we were in a rush, so we opted for the Order and Pick-up option. Ordering was easy and we just gave our name, make and color of our car and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes, to just pull in to one of the parking spot for To-Go orders. But when I pulled in, like there were no spots available in the "pick up and go", and there weren't people in two of vehicles, odd, right? So I kinda did that park and wait thing, *yep check out the parking lot cameras", Mini-Me walked in to the restaurant, walked to the back, to pay and grab the salad. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, the parking issue was a bit of a damper but in no way is this the Establishments fault. The food was packed well so it made it home without spilling and packed exactly the way we ordered it, staff was friendly and food was ready on time. Def will use this App again. read more

Their chicken is overcooked and hard and their portions are much smaller than before. Also, while it was 45 degrees outside, they run the air conditioning full blast. This waitress only seemed to care about bigger tables and not smaller tables. I just moved here and I wanted to go try out the Applebees at this location. I was a table of one and I really wanted to enjoy my experience at a new location. This waitress didn't seem to think that smaller tables also tip big as well. Tonight I ordered 2 bourbon street steak dinners to go. I ordered them medium rare with garlic mashed potatoes. Onions and mushrooms compliment the meal. They were DELICIOUS! TENDER AND JUICY. It was so easy to order. We were given a time for pick up, less than 1/2 hour, and when we pulled up, our server came out with the food!
