I would say about a month ago,we went to the Applebees in strongsville. The service and food were deplorable. Well,I received a $30 gift card for complaining,(do to the salty food.) We visited the Macedonia restaurant. People waiting to be seated,only a handful of people in the restaurant(less then 25. There was a 20 minute wait time!! The place was dead!! But they had a 20 min wait!! Ordered food. The appetizers (mozzarella sticks.) waited 20 minutes to get those,47 minutes to get dinner. Is Applebees restaurant chain going down the tubes? The Ohio State/michigan game was on,the place was dead!! When we went to Strongsville restaurant,Browns football on,the place was dead. I went to this Applebees on Friday night and was seated at 8 with my spouse we ordered the 2 for 25the fiesta chicken and the ok burger; needless to say the " horrible " waitress we had did not notice that we did not have our food we had ordered although several parties that arrived at least twenty minutes after we were seated received their appetizers and food while we sat their waiting; at 9:25 we left with no food packaged to go or no food being served to us. I have been coming here with my family for years but this is my last visit to this restaurant. It deserves a no star rating!!! read more

The good news is their food is as good as any Applebee's. The bad news is your customers don't care if your shortstaffed they only care that they are getting what they paid for. It's typical of Gen Z to make excuses and that's what it seemed like most of their employees are. But the truth is I don't care that you're shortstaffed. Did you ever go out for lunch on a Friday during lent to find a Lenten appropriate meal in Macedonia Ohio? I actually had two appointments on the same day in Macedonia, which is a 50 mile one-way travel for me. I searched yelp before I went out and there weren't a lot of choices so I opted for one of my usuals-- Applebee's. I should've kept driving. I walked in, It was probably 1 o'clock and was seated by the crabbiest host I've ever met and I won't go into any details. If he doesn't like his job, he should find another They had three fish choices, one was salmon, yuck. One was fish and chips, another yuck so I chose double crusted shrimp and I replaced the fries and coleslaw with broccoli and more broccoli. The food took forever to come out. I'd almost finished my entire large beverage. The shrimp were fine, but it's supposed to come with Cocktail sauce... I tried it and called the server over and I said wasn't this supposed to come with cocktail sauce and she said that's our cocktail sauce. I said that's ketchup -- she says that IS our cocktail sauce SO I PASSED ON THE KETCHUP. the broccoli was so badly undercooked a coconut shell would've been SOFTER to eat. I don't like broccoli that's not the bright green color and overcooked but that wasn't the issue. They needed to go three or four more minutes to make it able to be cut easily with a fork not with a STEAK KNIFE. Brought most of the broccoli home in a doggie box, nuked it for about two minutes and it was cooked to perfection. Another Clark get together! Eleven of us to eat please. We got a newer waitress and she actually did really good for all of of! She kept the drinks a coming. No one was empty and she checked on us often. It was a Saturday nite and quite busy too. Must be payday..??!! Lol. Anyway out of appitizers and food there were 3 mishaps with the food. That's why the three stars. We ordered chicken oriental salad. His had no dressing.. another steak order was bloody. He sent it back to be recooked and it was still red but he ate most. We met some people at Applebees and I was never a fan of semi-fast food restaurants, but the food was great! I ordered a Crispy Bacon Chicken Sandwich/held the dressing and the sandwich was really tasty. The chicken was juicy, fresh, and crispy, and the brioche bun was perfect. My partner ordered the chicken salad and it was perfect. I'm really impressed. I'll have to try other locations now when I see one as I travel around. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. Happy we stopped. read more

Applebee's used to be a favorite for me and my family but they have made some menu changes that have really been disappointing! For example- The portion sizes on all of the appetizers that are part of the trio have gotten smaller. The soft pretzel sticks are skinnier than my fingers. The boneless wings were hard and not fully tossed in sauce. The only decent app was the spinach dip (and that had a rubbery layer of cheese over top they needed to be removed before eating. Rubbery, not warm bubbly melty) They other app we ordered was the salsa verde beef nachos. Gross. Completely unseasoned hamburger meat on nachos with thick raw jalapeños rings. In the picture I had already chopped up the jalapeños into smaller pieces. Also, the kids meal was $4.99 and was a single tiny cheeseburger with very few fries. Shown in the picture. Very disappointing. Save the money and skip the ciabatta bread bun and use regular cheap buns like kids prefer and GIVE 2 SLIDERS you cheapskates. Ugh. Applebees was a disappointment. The waitress was sub-par. The food was sub-par. There were 12 of us. I ordered the ribs, they were lukewarm and the fries were cold. It took 22 min for food to come out. 3 people ordered the chicken tenders. They were overcooked. The waitress needs more customer service training. My son ordered the boneless wings and they were pretty good. The fries were terrible and very salty. Since it took so long for the food to come out, we did not send it back. I wish I would have checked the reviews first. I ordered for delivery and was given a time of 60-80 minutes for my order to be delivered. Then when they were supposed to be here I got an additional notice it would now be another 45 minutes to be delivered 6 miles down the road! I wanted to do take out but delivery was the o my option. I waited until 3:45 then I called in to let them know I was outside they put me on hold for 10 mins. This was an awful experience. The hostess was the only one who looked as if she had even showered, but she was pissed to be working. Our waitress had on leggings and slip on crocs. She had no clue as to what was on the menu. The waitress serving the table behind us was just as clueless with her table. There was a table with an unruly child, and the first couple got up and left because of it, within minutes they sat ANOTHER poor couple there. They moved. The restaurant was no where near full so there were several empty tables to seat people, but AGAIN they say more people at the adjoining table. We were so desperate to get out that we left a huge tip just so we wouldn't have to wait for change. The food was wrong, and the shrimp had been nuked.... Definitely a letdown. It would be amazing what a good manager could do for this place. A hygiene lesson to the waitresses and a quick lesson in professionalism. We like Applebees so no review there. But we wondered why Happy Hour only included beer and not wine. Also, the credit card machine now comes to the table. We thought it was to save time. We got our receipts with the totals hand written that somebody had to write accurately. Why? The totals could have been circled or highlighted. We swiped our credit cards through the machine and signed. Then our busy waitress hurriedly brought us the receipts to sign again. Why are we signing the receipt again if we ran our own cards? Seemed awkward, and our busy waitress seemed frustrated, but kind. Totally unnecessary. Perhaps this pay system needs to be rethought. read more

My first journey out of the house, after moving to this state yesterday, landed me at Applebees. The only problem was that it was 11:20pm... And they close at midnight! I felt like such a d-bag, strolling in that late and so near to closing time. BUT the staff didn't seem to mind... Or at least they were pretty good at faking it! I quit going to Applebee's years ago. But my niece graduated and my brother and his family chose here for us to meet up after the ceremony. We were a group of 14 so I already figured if they couldn't get me and my wife's stuff right that this had the potential to be a disaster. It was. First it took forever for the food to come out. But like I said it was 14 people so whatever. I ordered the Triple Dog Dare Ya which was supposed to consist of a sandwich with onion straws, pulled pork, bacon and ham. When they brought out the food I noticed that the onion straws looked burnt. I tasted them and of course they were. Visibly burned and there was no bacon. Like why would you send that out? Told the waitress and she took it back. It came back very quick with a heaping of onion straws, like a comical amount like they were upset I sent the sandwich back. I then noticed that there was no pulled pork on the sandwich. How does one make a sandwich minus TWO major ingredients AND burned onion straws. I talked to the manager this time. I told her I don't even want the sandwich because clearly they don't know how to make it. I chose just a regular bacon cheese burger. Like they can't possible F this up. Well that took forever to come out. I had to go looking for the waitress to tell her never mind because everyone was finished eating and I asked her if she was planning on charging me for it and she said she thought the manager was going to. The manager had brought the plate to the table while I had got up to find the waitress and told my wife in this BS tone not to worry about paying for it. Applebee"s is a joke of a restaurant. This is a zero rating. Worst place to eat. Let's start from the beginning. When walking in took a while to be greeted even though multiple employees were standing chatting by the door. When it came to ordering, I wanted a tea with a lemon slice but I got something different. Eventually they addressed the mistake and it took two people and three times asking for my lemon. When we received our food it was cold and salty and under cooked. When I asked for my side to be heated a little it came back as hot as lava is there no happy medium. So I've been to Applebee's a billion times, but yesterday I went with my mom for the 6.99 burger night with a free refill on fries;that they have on Mondays. I ordered the brunch burger with sweet potato fries, and the burger was really good, but my fries I didn't care for to much. The service was pretty slow as well, and I kept having to search for my waitress when I needed something! Overall, I really enjoyed my burger and some quality time with my mom. read more
