Stuck in a hotel catching up on the administrative work (emails and Internet work) when I discovered it was lunch time. I headed across the parking lot to Applebee's. I ordered the soup (Tomato Basil and Chicken Caesar Salad) with an eye on the $5.99 luncheon special. I then ordered my coffee to finish the meal. I mentioned to the wait staff that the coffee would make my day. I was very disappointed when I was served a barely warm, at best, cup of coffee. Be careful what you ask for! read more

Watched the UK-Louisville game there and the waiter was great for letting us hog the table for 3 hours. But I tipped him well. I don't know why I get boneless wings I always think they'll be good but these weren't. Everything else was good though. The beer pretzels with cheddar was pretty good. I came here with my family hoping to have a nice dinner. And I was turned away at the door. I was told by the hostest (after waiting for a couple min) that all the tables were full and they were not accepting any more customers. I asked if we could wait and she then responded with honestly no and as a matter a fact they didn't even have silverware or cups for us to drink out of. I was very offended and absolutely disgusted that I would be treated like this. First off if I could a Negative Star Rating I would! My sister and brother in law and there grandson and my wife and I went to Applebee's in Hazard around 6:30 yesterday. We were seated right away. Once the hostess seated us a couple at a table directly across from us was asked by the couple if she could cash them out since the waitress had not been back forever. That should have a signal for us to just leave. We remained seated for 20 minutes and never saw a waitress, no drink order was ever taken. We finally just got up and left and went to Sazon, don't waste your time at this place the service is horrible. read more

I have had several bad experiences with pick up orders. Orders are seldom correct. Food is not very good and price is high.

I often eat at the local Applebees when traveling for work and find them to range 3-4.5. This was the exception I have not been for 2 years but at the time the drinks were poor the service was poor and the food was poor. Surely it has improved some. Its still there. read more

Applebee's is a staple of Hazard! They were one of the first large chain restaurants to believe that our small town could handle the big businesses. The food is delicious and affordable. The staff is always friendly. I can't say enough about "The Bee"! read more

I eat at this Applebee's at least once every couple weeks. I honestly love it. I've never had bad service the wait staff are always really friendly to me. Food is always good, I've only ever had to send a plate back once and it was because the steak was over cooked. read more

we go to many Applebees as we travel and usually have perfectly good experiences.but the hazard ,my location is the exception.at one time it was pretty good ,but the new staff has let it decline into a joke.we stopped in on a Sunday evening and the place was practically empty.our server tried to seat us at the bar for some reason ,but we asked for and was given a booth.when out order arrived we noticed the included sides weren't there,but we said nothing.when the waitress came by and asked if we needed anything,my wife asked for a pat of butter for her potatoe..the waitress asked why she wanted it ,since she had ordered a "loaded"p otatoe with sour cream ,butter ,and bacon..we then showed her the bare potato we were brought and she said she couldn't give us butter ,we would have to see the manager..the manager comes over and says she will bring a new potato,then asks if the steak was ok..we showed her it was bloody in the middle although we ordered well done..also told her we got no sides,but it was ok,we don't like to complain..she says she will fix everything,..then sees some guy outside and leaves..we wait 45 minutes then give up and try to find our waitress so we can pay and leave..shes sitting in a booth talking with a guy about buying her car..i repeatedly ask for the check and the amount..sge says it's $34.75.but doesn't make a move to take it,so I threw her $40 and left!..then we meet the manager outside and she gets really confrontational..so we leave quickly..one last thing..ny wife posted on social media about our experience..and we get threatening messaged posted by the family of the manager!!.needless to say we will never go to an Applebees again!! read more

If you are in the market for *mostly* bad service, this is the place for you. Don't get me wrong, some of the servers are nice but the not majority. My husband and I used to be frequent visitors to our hometown Applebee's a few years ago. However, now we barely ever go there. One of the last times we went there we sat 20 minutes in a booth and not one of the servers even acknowledged that we were there! When we told the manager about it, the reply was "They're just busy". Okay, I have worked as a waitress before, but if I was a manager and someone told me this happened to them- I would be trying my best to make it right with them. Each time I order my medium-well steak from there it comes out BURNT and cold. After waiting 45 minutes just to get the steak, I somberly eat it because sending it back would just take another 45 minutes. I never leave happy from here so I spend my money else were now. read more

It's close to the Hampton Hotel I use while in the area and the service is fast and friendly. The food is way less than average . I asked for something other than a starch for my side and the waitress politely offered mac n cheese (I know!). I didn't realize it would be Kraft out of the box (not even the creamy shells!) anyway I questioned the mgr thinking they may have ran out of there non-Kraft... Nope she said it was Applebee's spec! The service was VERY slow! We were in on a Saturday around 2pm and the place wasn't busy enough to warrant a 20 minute wait to put in our food orders. We oredered the all you can eat soup salad and bread and had to wait too long to put in our next salad orders. It also took forever to get our orders from the kitchen. The soup was luke warm, I had two bowls and both were that way. The salads were great though. I will probably choose another place to eat next time. Two students and our professor from Berea College, Entrepreneurship for the Public Good (EPG) program, Berea, Kentucky stopped by the Applebee's in Hazard Kentucky. I had their Fiesta Lime Chicken for not cheap price of $10.49 but I had good meal. It came hot and was beautifully grilled chicken done with fiesta style with a zesty lime sauce. It's topped with Jack Chedder and Mexi-ranch. It was served up with crisp tortilla strips seasoned rise and fresh Pico de Gallo. We had two waitresses taking orders and bringing the meals. One of them forgot to bring the forks and knives before the meal was already in our table. However, the waitresses were responsive. We have had a good conversation with one of them too about tourist attraction sites in Hazard, Kentucky. read more

Terrible service. I came in and sat down at the bar and asked the bartender for a diet coke and a menu. I got the diet coke and menu but the menu was worthless because I sat there for 45 minutes and no one ever took my order. The bartender walked past me and wouldn't even look me. Also I'm not an expert on how glasses are supposed to be sanitized but on numerous occasions I seen the bartender just dip used glasses down in water bring them back up and start filling them. Was in Hazard on business with a group of four. We had a great experience at this Applebee's for dinner. We tried just about every appetizer they had by ordering the appetizer sampler. All were great and we didn't leave anything on the tray! All of us really enjoyed our main courses as well. And service was very friendly and efficient. Three of us also had their Brewtus size beer. Ice cold and a really good deal. Will come back on my next trip to Hazard! read more
