I was belittled and humiliated by the manager today. Now I see why they are closing. I was told I could have the 10 by 8 inch picture of my son's baseball team that was hanging over in the corner by the bathroom. I signed up for it and took it yesterday. Today I was confronted by two managers that they were going to have me arrested if i didn't return the picture. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They said there general manager told them to call the police if it wasn't returned. Let me remind everyone this is a very small picture hidden over in the corner of the bathroom that I signed to get. The picture frame may be worth $5.00 at most. I won't even get in to the fact that I have been by far their best customer over the years. WOW is all I can say. Went with my friends and was pleasantly surprised. We were seated pretty quickly, and the waitress was very polite and professional. We did wait a little long to get our order taken, but it was pretty busy, and after that everything was quick and surprisingly delicious. We first started with the mozzarella sticks and the spinach dip. The mozzarella sticks were pretty good, but the spinach dip was absolutely delicious. Shortly afterward, my bacon cheeseburger came out, and I have to say that it was really good. The burger was cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisp, the cheese was delicious, and the french fries were amazing. If there was any complaint, I would say that the fries had a little too much salt on them, but beside that everything was really great. I know this place gets a bad rap because it's a chain restaurant, and I also have had bad experiences in the past, but this time around was a really great time, with great food, and I would be happy to go back again. Let's just say I was truly hoping to count. This is a better experience than I've had at her Applebee's unfortunately, it was not. Let's start with the ambience when we first got there we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who brought us to a booth to sit down, and when he tried to sit down, the table almost fell over because it wobbles so much, and we were unable to sit at that table because of this fact, and we moved across the way to a regular table with some chairs. During that time the sun was out and was very bright, so it was very bright in the area where we were sitting. I noticed and took a picture of the TVs that you see they were not working they advertise this being a NFL station basically meaning that you see your NFL package but yet the TV isn't working if you also look in the picture I had to turn and look down the side into the bar area in order for me to see a picture or a TV that was working. As it got darker, I noticed that it got really dark and I looked up and I noticed that the light did not work it was out. We were completely in the dark, not one person, waitress or waiter that came to our table. acknowledge the fact that we were sitting in complete darkness. I asked for a manager the general manager came out and only gave me excuses not even saying that he was sorry and just walked away. The food was OK I was not very impressed with what we got as far as it goes because the chicken was very hard almost like it was over cooked and they give you these little cups for the dipping sauce. You have to ask for another sauce in order to have enough to even get through the first order . I had boneless chicken wings. My wife had trouble eating hers as well, but managed to get through it. We had the all you can eat chicken wings, and could not even finish our second plate. Overall, the waiters and waitresses happen to be the best part of the service because they did do their best to try to make the experience good. Would I go back unfortunately no but I wouldn't ever recommend that no one go there. The service was fine and the restaurant was clean. I ordered the riblet platter. The ribs were acceptable, but definitely not how I remembered them. The fries were tasty but cold. The restaurant was not busy at all so a little confused as to why food would be cold. My fiancé's prime rib dip was good but he agreed about the fries. So I'll start by saying I know it's Applebees and I wasn't expecting fantastic but we were in a time crunch and our son works close. I will also say the hostess was nice, dressed well, and friendly. The place looked very clean including the bathrooms. Also our server was attentive and did an outstanding job. So for the food. It was okay. Not great but it came quickly and was hot. The beer was cold and the glasses were chilled. In all the food was a three but the workers attitude, the cleanliness, and service all made the visit enjoyable. This is the absolute worst of the chain. Great looking place. You would think it be like any other of the chain. That's not even close. I cannot even explain it besides monkeys and footballs. I was crazy enough to give it a second chance (twice). Spend a buck and pay for fuel to continue your drive to someplace better. There is a McDonald's down the street. This place has gotten better. As far as Applebee's goes, this one was what you would expect. Food was fine, but nothing special. (We went because we were given a gift card; we're not big Applebee's people.) There was a centipede in the Caesar salad! Really grossed us out. The manager offered onion rings instead. When the bill came the waitress flipped past the itemized bill directly to the payment screen and I thought the bill was high. When she displayed the itemized bill THEY HAD CHARGED US for the replacement onion rings!!!!! The service was also extremely slow. The salads actually showed up to our table before we got even our ice teas! I would never go back there. After my first review of two stars, I was contacted by Applebee's Corp. asking for contact info so they could try to make things right. Well, five weeks later I finally received a call. The 'new' manager of this site, an import from the Schenectady store, apologized for both the cause of the previous review and the delay in contacting me. He explained he really wanted to make things right and encouraged me to give them another try. Well, last night I did. There was a greeter on duty who seated me immediately in the bar area. It couldn't have been more than a few minutes before a waitress approached. She was friendly and pleasant and, seeing that I was done with the menu, took both my beverage and food order. The beverage arrived within several minutes, and the food not very long after. So far, so good. Then, the food order arrived incomplete. Neither the kitchen or the waitress noticed. I had to catch the waitress going by and ask for the rest of my order. She apologized and returned with the rest of my order within five or so minutes. Unlike my previous review, the AC was at a reasonable temp, the music wasn't blasting and the meal was typical chain restaurant quality. Everyone was in some sort of uniform except a male doing multiple duties in a well worn t-shirt. If this was a manager he should dress better if working in front of the public. I frequent Applebees during football season for their cheap draft beers, boneless wing, and NFL Sunday Ticket. It's obvious that very little of the food is made fresh to order, but mostly frozen and deep fried. I'd say that would be pretty typical for most "chain" restaurants like Applebees. Waitresses and hostesses are always very pleasant and the place is generally clean. Assuming you realize you won't be getting a fine dining experience and just want to get some deep fried food and some beers it's a good place to stop at. read more

I had the savory cedar salmon from their lighter fare menu and it was okay. The salmon itself was nice but the potatoes were underdone the spinach was kinda wilting and the "spring" mixed vegetables it was supposed to have were these big lumps of cooked zucchini. So I dunno-when I go out I like to go to unique place that doesn't microwave your entree out of a bag. I've been a vegetarian for almost 30 years... with the exception of the last 2 times I've come to this Applebee's. Last time, they made me a salad and (after I found chicken pieces), admitted that they'd just picked chicken off to make it vegetarian (yuck). Tonight.... they reassured me that they could make the mac and cheese without chicken strips... it came out covered in chicken and bacon... This is our local chain, but it is a terrible disappointment. A couple years old and already has a peculiar odor when you walk through the door. This place just recently opened, I know everyone is trying to work the kinks out but no excuse for not being proactive and ready for a pack house no matter what time and day it is.
