I want to sincerely thank the incredible staff at Applebee's for the compassion, professionalism, and quick thinking they showed during one of the most frightening experiences of my life. While eating with my large family, I had a piece of steak become lodged in my throat. It was a terrifying emergency, and the staff immediately sprang into action once they noticed what was happening. They called 911 while an off-duty EMT who happened to be there attempted the Heimlich maneuver to try to dislodge the steak. Although it could not be dislodged at the restaurant, their fast response ensured that emergency services were already on their way, and I was transported by ambulance for medical treatment. In the middle of all the chaos, they showed an incredible amount of kindness by putting our entire party's meal on the house. That thoughtful gesture meant so much to my family during such a stressful and emotional moment. It's easy to review a restaurant based on the food, but today I'm reviewing the people. The care, compassion, and humanity the Applebee's team showed us is something I'll never forget. Thank you to every employee who helped, to the off-duty EMT who stepped in to assist, and to everyone who made sure my family was cared for during such a traumatic experience. I WANT THIS AS A PERMANENT MENU ITEM! I recently had a craving for Applebees and when I heard they had the new O-M-Cheese burger, I had to give it a try! Once I ordered and it arrived, I literally said to myself "Oh My Cheesiness!" It looked so good I wanted to preserve it in a Museum of Cheesiness, especially the fries with it, (although the Spicy Honey Mustard more likely was just Honey mustard that was Hot.. not as much Spice as i thought) all in all I'd definitely recommend it and I Hope it becomes a permanent menu item! I wanted a sweet tea, and I don't know if it was watered down, or what. But it had NO sugar. The server wasn't around a lot, but when she was, she was nice. I have eaten at this particular restaurant from last 15 to 18 years and tonight the service was so bad the waiter messed up my sweet tea drink water and gave us water. I asked for more napkins 20 minutes later she gave us napkins or meals or late getting to the table, we had customers that sat down 15 minutes after us that was getting their meals before us. The kitchen was out of order management was out of order. It was really frustrating because I've been to this place for like I said 15 to 18 years and this is the worst service I've ever had there. Terrible experience, waited a long time to get a table because no one was cleaning the tables to allow people to be seated. Then me and my fiancé waited an HOUR just to get our food when people that was seated after us that had bigger groups got their food faster than us and the food wasn't even good. Service was horrible. I stood at the door for at least 7-10 minutes with an empty restaurant no staff on the floor. I could see that with what very few people they had in the restaurant had been waiting a while for drinks and even food. I talked to a couple they waited over 25 minutes for someone to even come ask what they wanted to drink. My experience here they wouldn't even have a nice conversation with me didn't even ask if I needed a refill when my drink went empty and when the food came to the table they didn't even ask if food looked ok they just put the food at the end of the table and walked off. No tip was left from me. The waitress instead of tending to her tables she sat at the bar with a gentleman customer. Horrible service. We both decided to drive about 30 miles to have some Applebee's. They closed the one down at home,respectfully so because it truly went downhill. Well our experience here was extremely great! Lettia was very attentive & so was the mgr. The food was amazingly good! Our waitress(Lettia)helped us put together our meal so that we were able to save a couple pennies! I'm very big on my drink staying filled & had no issues here. I truly felt the hospitality in this restaurant & will be back much more often. Overall the wait wasn't bad. Mozzarella sticks were hot and had a very good cheese pull. Bathrooms were clean and sanitary; however, they do it support short people. The kids chicken Alfredo was a very big portion. The kids cheese pizza was very good. The appetizers took a while to get to us. Overall, not bad, but could be better. read more

I was supper hungry so I decided to give this place another try. I walked in at about 2 in the afternoon. The place was active but not busy. There was not one single member of the staff in sight. No one manning the door, no one manning the bar and no one checking on the customers at all. I stood there feeling foolish and uncomfortable for almost 10 minutes and still no sign of any staff so I left and when I did one employee yelled from the back that they'll get to me. I said, "don't bother, you obviously don't want my business" and I left. Not the first time this happened here I am sorry to say, but I think it will be the last, for me anyway. read more

Came in for dinner there were multiple employees that were coming in and out of the back door, one at the bar, one smoking. There were a couple people seated never checked on in the time I was in there. I waited 10 mins standing with my fiancé at the door and was not seated, spoken to or anything. 1 star for right now. We were stayed in the area on vacation and we're looking for a spot to watch our beloved Blackhawks crush the Wild. This was the closest "sports bar" to our hotel. I'm normally not an Applebee's fan cause the food isn't the greatest but we were lucky! We ordered off the special appetizer menu. Pretzels with beer cheese, buffalo shrimp, and tapas style meatballs. All the food was awesome! Our service was also great. The staff was super friendly and energetic! Speedy with refills and just a lot of fun! We were very happy to find this place to watch the game and would visit again if we were in the area. read more

The spring drink special Tipsy Shark was good, it did sit on the bar waiting to be picked up by our server for a good time though. Our server seemed to disappear, took our order then no where in site. Watched my drink sit at the bar. Husbands sierra mist was all carbonation. We ordered combo appetizer, bourbon steak and a salad. We sat there not seeing our server again. A lady I think was the manager came out with the steak and salad, NO appetizer. I was shocked and said we never got our appetizer she was surprised. I said just forget the appetizer our food was here. She said she would check and get it to us I said it is to late now, really appetizer after food. She came back and said it was the kitchens fault. Well not completely he should of taken care of his customer, we never saw him! She said as she brought app out it would be taken off our bill and apologized. I asked for to go boxes. The appetizer items were overcooked, quesadilla were brown crisp, boneless wings looked like popcorn chicken and some popped open batter, artichoke dip looked dried. I don't even know what to say. Our check was covered but that defeats the purpose and also after excuses from the one manager that finally came over to us after we were entirely too patient- it fixes nothing and our server, although completely out to lunch, doesn't get tipped for our table. The entire restaurant was up in flames tonight. Considering the fact that there were three managerial staff on the clock and we waited for our check for almost a half an hour and not one even touched our table was an issue. Call outs regardless- know how to run a restaurant and support yourselves or clean house. Your hiring process needs to be improved tremendously if the residents are going to support you, seeing as this is one of the few places in the area. I can't even mention our service or the food because it was just that bad. No salads- entrees not dropped for 45 minutes after three other tables that came in after us got food- multiple complaints from other tables in our section... having worked in the restaurant business for many a year I'm giving two stars as a benefit of the doubt in hopes that whomever the franchisee is will make some massive changes- maybe fix the gaping hole in the booth we were sitting in would make the curb appeal a little nicer also. And please clean your bathrooms. They are absolutely disgusting. read more

If you have been to one Applebee's you have probably been to them all. That said, we had a very nice meal at this one. Our server Jeremiah was very friendly and attentive. The manager even stopped by during our meal to make sure everything was ok. The food was good and fresh and we had no complaints. We especially liked the 1 dollar small desserts. read more

Usually when I eat here I get it to go and tonight I was reminded why. We had to wait 10 minutes for our drinks, waitress forgot to put our appetizer in, three out of four people were out of drinks before we were asked for refills, another guy asked if everything turned out good and I asked that our appetizer be removed from our bill since we never got it and he acted like he was offended that we actually answered his question instead of just saying everything was fine. He then was like are you sure you don't want them. The food is good but get it to go. The service can easily ruin your experience. read more
