I ordered door dash for my mom and I and I ordered ribs and they were like shoe leather. Litterly the worst ribs I have ever eaten.

The boneless wings texture felt like store bought chicken nuggets, the nuggets were very crunchy with very little chicken, no flavor, cold, and texture felt "lab made", ribs were awfully chewy, no flavor, and basically was more bone than meat in my opinion I feel this place is only good with burgers, but sometimes messy, pasta, can't forget to mention how soggy the fries were, they were stale, cold, only good thing I got from them was the pretzel bites but was awfully salty, cheese was good too that's it. read more

My experience was not great at all. I feel terrible for my server because all the guests could hear was a manager/ a female staff member disrespectfully yelling "I need a runner" every 5 seconds from the kitchen. Even heard a male staff member simply tell her no as that's all she was yelling. It would be faster at that point to pick up the slack and run a table yourself. Clearly your servers are busy helping customers. Every time I saw my server she had plenty of drinks, plates or even to go boxes. She was quite busy as she had multiple tables in her section. I went in with a small headache, came out with a bigger one. If you're wanting a nice dining experience without a ton of yelling boarder line screaming go elsewhere. read more

How about seating customers when there is obviously tables/booths available whether the serving staff is busy or not, And not having Manger hiding out in the kitchen doorway not supporting the staff or customers, while staff is expressing dissatisfation with being overwhelmed with how many table they have and not acting as a team in front of customers. read more

Excellent food and outstanding service, even on a very busy Mother's Day afternoon. We'll be back.

I am so grateful for the amazing service here! I'm from out of town and ordered a meal online for my dad. I didn't notice that the restaurant I ordered from was in Nebraska, not Iowa. Major oops! I replied via the app that I had arrived and waited about 10 minutes. When the food didn't arrive, I went in and asked the bartender. She was so sweet and said she didn't see an order come through. The manager came out and was so kind and helpful. Offered to get an order started right away and offered me a free beverage while I waited. She also suggested I call the restaurant in NE and let them know to see if I could get a refund. I called and that manager was also super sweet and without hesitation refunded me. I am impressed with the level of service I received!! Special shout out to Jaide and Courtney A!!! read more

Very, Very rude ppl working there. went for dinner one night and the lady was very snotty saying it would be a 20 minute wait. plenty of seats available. we said we would like to sit at the bar and she was still snotty saying it will STILL be a 20 minute wait until you can order. we get to the bar and the bar tender was rude too saying it will be a 20 min wait. can y'all train your ppl how to handle this cordially, if not friendly? we got up and left! read more

Do not waste your time stopping here. They are short on help BUT the help they have here doesn't want to work. When we were seated there were only 2other booths. Total 4 people. 2 were already eating. We sat down was told we could download the menu it our waitress could bring us one 5 min later no one looked at us or came our way. Bartender was on deep conversation with another women. A man who looked like he was guarding the kitchen just stood there. We did see a waitress going into kitchen. We left and I was going slow so I could tell them why we were leaving not one person looked at me. They couldn't care less if we left or not. We live here but will not be back maybe we will try next year. By then they might have employees that care. I am 60 years old and could have waited on 4 tables pretty fast. LAZY LAZY read more

There steaks are not good like at all, me and my boyfriend were very disappointed. We also had to get the 12oz instead of the 8oz like we wanted and it was expensive too, there Mac and Cheese was also bad, my boyfriend described it like it was just milk noodles and shredded cheese read more

Just horrible. Service is constantly slow and food is ALWAYS wrong, I have tried giving it multiple chances because it USED to be soooo good. Now I will not be returning here again. read more

We came Thursday night, around 8:55pm, they close at 10. They told us it was gonna be a 35 min wait, we were fine with that. We gave them our number in order to be in the wait line. It's 9:30pm, still never been contacted by them. So we went back to the restaurant and the host told us that they were closing and couldn't serve us. We came back the next day Friday. My husband and I only wanted to get their chocolate cake and get some cocktails. So we called in advice asking about the line, we were told there was no wait and we could come right in. We get there in 5 minutes, and we walk in and the door host tells us that it's gonna be a 20 minute wait. We were a little upset because we were told there wasn't gonna be a wait. So we go sit in our car, 25 minutes later we finally were able to get a table. We wait about 10 minutes sitting at our table, till our server finally comes to get our drink order. We order the cake and cocktail and ask to pay the bill now so we didn't have to rely on a waiter. Another 10 minutes later I finally get the cake but still no cocktail. Then I realized they never gave us silverware. So after finally tracking someone down, I wait another 10 minutes without a fork. By the time I finally got my fork, my ice cream was melted and my cake was cold. And then I got my frozen cocktail after that and it was all melted because it was sitting at the bar for awhile. We managed to talk to two employees that stated they were gonna quit the next day. So Applebees if your employees are ready to just quit, then you should do better with staffing and making sure you have enough coverage and silverware. (they ran out of silverware so they had to give me a plastic one) read more

Family of four ordered. What a disappointment. All four meals were cold. French fries were the bottom of the barrel. No salsa or pico tonight, ran out. Waiter was friendly and was trying. read more

This was one of the worse experiences we as a family have had at a so called restaurant. We waited 3 to 5 minutes to be greeted at the door. Which I could understand if they were busy, but the television in the bar was more important than us. When she did come to seat us, no smiling welcome she was dressed like she was at home relaxing. We were seated without menus. when the waitress finally came and took our drink orders we were left waiting with no menus just to sit there. we waited over 5 minutes and no one came I could see her at the bar visiting with the bartender. so we got up and left. I wrote to the corporate office and never received an answer from them either. So good bye Applebee's I will never be visiting you again read more

Pulled in with an hour left before they close and the doors were locked with people inside at tables and the bar. They clearly were preventing new customers from coming in and avoiding any work in their last hour of business. Don't waste your time with these people. read more

Small pools of grease made for an unappetizing backed potato soup. The 4 cheese Mac with chicken bites came out without the chicken! Then we have the appetizer... White queso and chips. Stale chips and thick cold cheese. read more

This restaurant had the dirtiest bathrooms that we have ever seen. If we had used them prior to ordering, we would have changed our minds about eating here. We are hoping that the kitchen standards were momentously higher. If not, we fear for our health and that of others, especially during this pandemic period. Very disappointed!! read more

Walked in at 6:55 pm. Waited 15 minutes past the stated wait time to be seated. Wasnt able to order our food till 7:50 PM. Once we finally received our food, it was cold and under cooked. Not impressed!! Lots of better places to eat in Fort Dodge, Ia. read more

We used to enjoy Applebee's in Ft Dodge back in 1999. The place was always packed and the food was good. You didn't mind a bit of a wait. Over the years, the food has gotten worse and the wait times are ridiculous. We have tried at least once a year to see if things have changed for the better. Nope. The latest remodel made the place feel like a dark dungeon. Definitely not family friendly. read more

This was not a pleasant experience. We had a group of seven, got in almost immediately, but did not receive service for at least 20 minutes. Food came in decent time, but was under cooked. We were not checked on nor did we receive refills for the duration of the meal. It was not busy. read more

Terrible service, took forever, didn't have what we wanted and brought us what we didn't want, food wasn't bad bad but will never come back again read more

Bartender was more worried about her kids than taken my order. Stake was over cooked and little flavor. The kid who drop off my order did not look to see if I had silverware. Beer was flat. I will not be going back. read more

OK, you know what the food tastes like. But is it possible for Applebee's to train the servers. Don't clear the plates until everyone is finished; don't ask if you-guys are done "working" on the food; and let's keep your personal favorites and dislikes out of my conversations. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. One of the worst meals of my life. We waited forever for food that was terrible. Sent it back twice and it was still wrong. We were seated near the bathroom which smelled awful! And to top it off we were still charged full price. The incompetent manager gave me a $10 card for my next visit. Worthless considering we will never return. read more

First the good. Food was good... no problems with that. We arrived at 540pm... it wasn't full. 4 of us got 2 menus. grrr... asked for 2 more and they grudgingly said we have to wash them after each use and are short.. but we got them. 10 minutes later, finally took our order, the place was busy but NOT full. We ordered appetizers, THE BEST ONION RINGS IN TOWN, no problem with those.... but.. it would be nice to get them. 45 minutes after arrival.. no appetizer... waiter was hard to find. finally he came by and asked if we needed refills on drinks... YUP... he ran away real fast after that.. 5 minutes more drinks.. then asked WHERE ARE OUR ONION RINGS.. um.. umm.. ummm.. just a minute.. let me get the manager.... 5 more minutes.. umm.. we lost your order... would you like to order again.. grrrrr.. in the mean time hear are some FREE nachos until your rings get here.. grrrr.. so.. re-ordered... nachos were mediocre.. don't order those... we didn't .. but ate some while waiting.. rings show up.. YUMMY YUMM YUMM... ate those.. food shows up.. all it well and good.. now we are stuffed... now.. waiting for bill.. where is the waiter? wait.. he passes by going real fast I yell TICKET.. he heard me.... brought our bills.. separated as requested.. good... but.. after looking at it... THEY CHARGED US FOR THE FREE NACHOS... GRRRRR... He came back for the money... I said.. fix this please... also on the bill was 50 cents for XTRA TARTAR SAUCE.. nobody ordered any fish and we never got a normal amount of tartar sauce, let alone xtra tartar sauce.. so he come back with the 'fixed' bill.... ok.. nachos are gone, but the xtra tartar sauce is still there.. GRRRRRRRRR..... I said.. ok.. nice try.. let try some more. 'TARTAR SAUCE'.. gone with the bill again he goes.. come back and now finally we can get out of this hell hole. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT... the service was a negative 50.. maybe it was the BLUE FULL MOON ON HALLOWEEN.. I don't know... but won't be going back to that particular applebees any time soon..... 2 hrs from walking in to walking out.... unacceptable.. no discount off the bill which would have been nice. read more

This food is not good at all out of the 7 times ive been here my family and I had to wait an hour and a half to get our food, when it finally came it was gross. The staff is very nice and helpful if you need anything. I just think for the price it could be a lot better. read more

We just ate at the Ft. Dodge Applebee's for a belated Valentine's Day meal. We both ordered the Steak, mushrooms, and red potato weight watcher's approved meal. Both of our Steaks were very flavorful taste wise. But, both steaks were stringy and tough to chew. While the flavor was good, we will probably not return again. Service was great, almost too good. The waitress nearly bothered us. She asked if our meal was good before we even took the first bite. I hate to say we won't be back, but for that much money, we won't. read more

Sometimes they have some communication issues with my order. Overall the speed and quality is on par with other Applebee's I have been at.

Ate here a couple times in the last two weeks. Staff is friendly, but tends to mess around a lot when the manager is there. They need to learn to remove the private, inappropriate conversations to their days off. Waitresses tend to be very flirty while on the clock. Food isn't bad though I did have to send my steak back the second time I ordered it for being slightly under cooked, but good flavors, good selection and always has seats available. Love the carside to go option too. read more

Don't want to say anything bad they do try hard and the cooks are more than over worked look at it this way if you go in order a all-in burger a fry and a pop you have just spent more money than the person who made your food gets paid in an hour and a half. Your food may take a while to get to you that's because of poor leadership and lack of good training read more

They are so slow. Their servers are slow and always seem to be around the bar talking rather than helping their tables. You try to call in a to go order an hour before they close, let alone an order that will take maybe 15 minutes, and they tell you that you can't call in an order because their grill closes in an hour. read more

This place is getting worse. Husband ordered a sandwich which came out cold. He sent it back. Waitress then came out to our table and said the Manger was requesting a new one to be made. The service was about the best thing they had there. I used to love the fiesta lime chicken and the quesdallia burger. I ordered the quesadilla burger the other night and I was very disappointed because the burgers have shrank. There was more tortilla than there was a burger or even toppings. The taste was that great either. The time before that I ordered the fista lime chicken and let me tell you that was the smallest piece of chicken I have seen on a dinner plate and there was a very small portion of rice. The last time I order this dinner the chicken was decent size and had a decent size of rice, it felt like I was eating a kids meal for the price of an adult. I hate to say this but I probably will not be back to this applebees in a very long and will not recommend it to any of my friends because who would want to pay 12 dollars or so for kids size meal. I will not recommend this place in fort dodge ia and will not return, I was very disappointed. read more
