Sis and I were out and about in Forest Lake and stopped in here for lunch. We haven't been to an Applebee's in years, but know they have a nice atmosphere and good food. We were about to get seated quickly in a booth. There was a big group of high school basketball players and parents near us. It was nice to see all their food come out from the kitchen so I see/smell things before I ordered. Sis decided on the Whiskey Burger and that was a part of the 2 for $20 deal. So we looked over our appetite options. Mozzarella sticks are always a solid choice. I decided on the new menu item, the O-M-Chz burger. Both entrees came with fries. Whiskey burger was a classic cheeseburger with bacon. The Whiskey bbq sauce had chucks of bacon in it too. "Very good". OMC came out pre-cut in half, cut end side down, sitting in a sizzling melted cheese sauce. And on a hot plate similar to fajitas. I thought delicious. And I would call it a open faced Juicy Lucy. It came with a hot honey mustard sauce. I am glad I asked for it on the side. It would have been too much flavor if on the burger. Overall, a successful visit for lunch. Took our grand daughter out for lunch as she loves the chicken Alfredo! We ordered the oriental chicken salad and bourbon shrimp and chicken and all was nice and hot and delicious! They also have the best French onion soup! Service was great by Tiffany. read more

We visited Applebee's in Forest Lake, MN, after a fun evening at the Dead End Hayride, and overall, it was a solid experience. The late-night appetizers were decent--just what we needed to satisfy our cravings. The menu offered a good variety, and everything we tried was tasty, hot and well-prepared. Service was okay; our server was friendly, but not very attentive. While it wasn't a perfect visit, it certainly hit the spot. Food quality has greatly improved - hadn't been here in 5 years due to declining food quality. One negative, they tried to charge me 2.99 for playing a game on the electronic device on the table. Not the best Applebee's I've been to, but overall it was a nice spot to get some appetizers. Me and my boyfriend got the sampler with wonton tacos added on. They didn't give enough chips for how much dip they gave us and it really wasn't as filling as I thought it would be. I would recommend the wonton tacos though! They were good. It was pretty packed on a Friday night but that's expected in a local Applebees. We sat at the bar and had to wave down the bartender to order and get drinks. Overall, it wasn't my favorite experience at an Applebees but wasn't expecting a 5 star restaurant service either. read more

This was not a great experience for how much my family and I end up spending. Our server had no interest in helping us, she only wanted to spend time by the door chatting with the hostess. We almost didn't order dessert it took so long for her to come back. There was about eight tables filled and we waited about 35 minutes to get our food. She never came back for refills and it took another 10 minutes for her to finally come back with boxes. The one in Coon Rapids is much better. The hot honey chicken skillet is amazing! Our server was great and attentive. We ordered drinks and they came fast as well as our food. I'm not huge on chains but they where the only ones in the area open past 8pm on Thursday. Even though this is a chain location, it really feels like a neighborhood restaurant. Ever since Covid ended, Applebee's has become a place where everyone knows your name. 3 stars for trying to make things right. Placed an order with door dash and had a large order close to $100 Almost half the items were missing. I was told initially that the door dash employee was responsible for making sure things weren't missing. In order to get my replacement food I had to go pick it up, which was fine. The manager did replace what was missing and upgraded my Caesar salad to a large and gave 3 deserts as an apology. She was very nice and apologetic. After getting home and having what we needed we finally were able to eat. My sister bit into her burger and it wasn't fully cooked. The lemonade drinks did not taste right and the there was a lack of sauce on the wings and burger. We did call the manager to let her know about the uncooked burger and she did ask what could be done, however we were over the situation. I'm new here to forest lake and hope this isn't a reoccurring issue as there isn't much places to eat here. read more

I had the best lunch experience today! This location was recently remodeled & we really like the new decor, featuring local scenes & photographers. The waitress Kaitlyn was bubbly, attentive, and one of the best staff we have ever had in any waitress. I had a Strawberry Chicken Salad which was a 10 out of 10! Big chunks of chicken, huge fresh strawberries and a healthy portion. Very reasonably priced for the quality. My son ordered the chicken bacon sandwich & the amount & quality of chicken was enormous, a super value! Most restaurants these days skimp on the meat or portion size, but we felt like the meals were not lacking at all! Very impressed & we will definitely be back. It had been a very long time since we were here as we had a negative time in the past with service but Kaitlyn dominated today & made a huge positive impact! Nice job Applebee's! read more

Kitchen staff here is pretty bad. Food comes out in wrong portions and ignores special requests. Servers and food runners failed to look at what they bring to tables. Server was slow and inefficient, table of 8 was never pre-bussed from apps to the time we left. Not all Applebee's are this bad. I have only been here and overall it has been decent, As I arived the service was slow; it took about 30min for the waiter to take our order. She was verry friendly. There are a varity of great deals and combos and a abundant amount of choices. It was verry stressful ordering because I was still thinking after the 30m wait. Wether this was my crippling anxiety or just a poor desison making brain I dont know. We got the aptisers about half an hour later and they were delicious however the plates were dirty. So...after my infamous review I had never again set foot in any Applebee's again until tonight, I had an old gift card in my wallet and my two daughters wanted dessert so... I thought how bad could it be? You can't really screw up ice cream right? Well I was correct, you can't. Also, our waitress/bartender was very nice, didn't act like we were weird just getting desserts, she even checked my old gift card from 2002 just to see if it still worked and it did. The desserts were all good I got the Apple Fritter one, looked nothing like the online photo, but solid. The Manager offered me awhile back to come back in for a free meal to try their place again, I suppose my last review...well got reviewed...so I may come back in and try a regular meal again. I googled Applebee's Forest Lake hours and the website said open till 1am. We arrived at the restaurant just past 11pm on Friday night. When we walked up to the door and the sign said open till midnight. But to our surprise the restaurant closed at 11pm. So we wasted a trip to Forest Lake because someone is to lazy to update store hours. Oh and its covids fault. Apparently some restaurants are doing better than others after covid and can afford to run less hours and not update times. Guess my money is better spent on the struggling restaurants that still believe in customer service. read more

Samuel H. as been our server 3 times now and he has been absolutely wonderful! Each time he has been extremely respectful, kind, and courteous to us and always is willing to go the extra mile for anything we would need. We recently went there for Veterans Day and he shook our hands and thanked us for our service. Ordered car-side to-go and they forgot half the order. I had to drive all the way back in and get the order. They had offered me a free drink when I waited for so long for the first half of the order but they offered me no compensation after I drove all the way back in to get the second half of my order. Do you like horrible food, weak watered down over priced drinks and horrible service? If so, then this is the place for you! I have been to this Applebee's 4 times in the last year. I have yet to get my order right. It's not like I order difficult items, how hard is it for a burger with sauces on the side instead of on it? After our last visit I vowed I will not step foot in this establishment. Our waitress took almost 20 minutes just to take our drink order, I guess talking to the bartender at the bar was more important then helping her customers. When she finally took our drink order she took our food order. About 30 minutes later she set food down in front of us and wandered away, never to be seen again. The food was terrible, everything tasted freezer burnt and over cooked by their microwave. My burger tasted "nuked" instead of grilled as did my wife's pasta. It was completely disgusting and I would have complained if we had a server. Don't even get me started on their "specialty drinks"! It tasted like a kiddie cocktail! We ended up requesting our check from a different waiter who looked just as bored as our initial server. Our check was paid with cash and we left vowing never to return. I'll be honest, this place is Applebee's, a restaurant that is not the great place it was ten years ago, the food is just bland and boring, but this location is one worth going to if in the area. Friday, July 22, 2016. Terrible meal, terrible service. I had to ask them to clean the food off of the booth seat then had to also do it myself with a napkin. Asked the waiter for a new napkin, he threw some at us and left the crusty one on the end of the table for the whole meal. The steak quesadilla had burnt steak. The salad had stale croutons and rotten tomatoes on such a small plate you couldn't cut the lettuce without the content falling onto the table. Our pop came after we were finished eating. We would have talked to the manager instead of writing a review on Yelp but the waiter never came back to see if we needed anything except to give us the bill. Terrible experience. On 9-28-2015 had an e-gift card so I ordered a quesadilla burger and some boneless buffalo wings to go. Picked it up and brought it home. Got the ketchup out for my fries and didn't even use it. I only had maybe 10 fries! I haven't been there in a while so maybe the portion size shrank, you can get twice as many fries with McDonalds happy meal. Other than that, the food was good. read more
