I can't remember the last time we had such terrible service. Even after the manager said she would be taking care of us, our iced tea glasses remained empty. I have never had a good experience at any Applebee's, but for some reason, my kids like it so I go on rare occasions. Yet again, another disaster. At this location, it took 45 minutes for our food order to be taken. The place was only about 1/3 full for lunch. After about 30 minutes, I decided not to ask for help just to satisfy my curiosity over how long it would actually take. So, no matter how bad my kids crave Applebee's, we're not going - I mean it this time, darn it! I'll just give them the money we would have spent and have PB & Js instead. we waited at the door for 10 minutes to be seated. after FINALLY being seated, we waited for 30 minutes to get our food. nobody came to take out order yet we watched every other person that walked in get immediate service. we eventually just got up to pay for the drinks and leave, and they acted like it was a shock to them that we hadn't ordered yet, (the woman that was supposed to be our waitress was beside us talking to the people at the bar). This establishment has really declined. My husband and I ordered a take out order. When I went in to pick it up, the restaurant was filthy! Trash all over the floors.. dirty glasses and dishes piled on the bar. While I was waiting for my order to come out, the bar tender and two of the waitresses were gossiping about how much they disliked another employee, and how she is weird and socially awkward. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Then two of the waitresses got into an argument over a drink that was made for one of the tables. So my food FINALLY came out. The total was $38 and some change. I handed her a $100, she looked at me like I had eight heads and said, oh, umm I don't know if I have change for this.. so let me get this straight. It's 8 pm and you are telling me that you don't have 3, 20 dollar bills in this restaurant? She said, hold on let me ask my manager , she came back approximately 10 minutes later with the change.. the food was alright, not great or nearly as good as it used to be. But I also was kind of grossed out by the appearance and cleanliness of the restaurant and couldn't help thinking, if this is what the dining area looks like, what does the kitchen look like!???. Anyway, I probably will not eat there again unless going with a group that chooses it. Shame on the MANAGERS for allowing the restaurant to operate in a substandard manner. Ordering carside is always a disaster. There is no reason why it should take almost a hour to get dessert that is already pre-made. They take so long to bring your food that by the time you get it, its cold or something is missing. I don't understand why the service at this location is so poor its not like people are lining up to get in the parking lots always seems empty. Unfortunately my family will never return to this location. After waiting one hour after our food order was taken (while the restaurant is almost EMPTY) and also watching 2 separate tables whom arrived after us and are eating their food, I went to speak w management. Manager appeared, said Hello. I explained the situation also telling him that some of my family had left without eating. simply said he would take care of it. No smile, no apology, nothing. He turned and went back to wherever. Never saw him again. No courtesy extended to us in any manner. At 70 minutes after ordering, our grilled chicken and potato arrived. Check was presented to us. This Applebee's is horrible. I do online orders often. I understand that people makes mistakes, but they mess up my order every time. Not only that, when I try to ask them for the items that I was missing, they continue to say well it doesn't come with that. So, I get nachos but the dip doesn't come with it? Then they take forever to get your stuff ready. It makes no since for my food, which were appetizers, to take 40mins to make. I ordered at 5:00pm. The website told me that my food would be ready at 5:15. I get there at 5:12 and waited until 5:30. When I went inside to get my food, they said it would be 10 more minutes until it is ready. I said I couldn't wait any longer, could I just get my money back. It took the girl forever to get the manager, then 15 mins later they hand me some food. It's terrible. read more

We had a large party (12) maybe that's what confused our waitresses. Adults & teenagers, not arranged by family. My wife & I got the 2 for $24; we both ordered the 9 oz sirloin w vegetables & baked potato. When my steak came to the table, it was tiny. The waitress tried to convince me it was 9 oz, but 2 others at our table got the same thing & theirs was double the size of mine. I had to get the manager involved. She made it right & my 2nd steak was 9 & then some. My wife was still waiting on her 1st steak. My son's Philly Cheesesteak had hair in it! That went back and was replaced and taken off the bill. My other son's food was fine. I give the mgr credit for her efforts, but the waitresses made it hard on themselves by over-complicating the order. When all our bills came to the table, they were all incorrect & had to be recalculated. If not for the manager, 1 star would have been all they got. I have eaten here before without problems, so I hope this is not a trend. read more

Very very very poor customer service, walked in and waited for 10 minuets to be sited for a group of 6 the hostess looked at us looked around and walked away like we weren't even there. Then I asked another lady and she said I'm not a hostess I'm a waiter and then the other young lady came and was very rude and said she wasn't a waiter but she was hostess and had to ask her manager if they could take us. I first came to this Applebee's in Covington Georgia when I brought my granddaughters. Unfortunately, it was the worst experience I have ever had . The appetizers we ordered were horrible, it took over 40 minutes to get our meal and the waitress told me the wrong cost for the special. I had to get my money back. The other day on the fourth we went to Applebee's and that was a mistake. The food we order was incorrect, the size of the order was small, and the waitress and manager had every explanation under the sun, including they were fighting in the back. I will never return to this location again. I ordered the oriental salad. My friend ordered a simple hamburger. Medium rare. Our meal took over 35 minutes to come to us. The hamburger was burned. It was as hard as a hockey puck. He sent it back. It came back a second time burned. By this time, I was finished with my meal and he still didn't have anything edible. Our drinks were not refilled. The manager agreed with us that the meat was well done. However, I had to make the request to remove from our ticket. They wanted to bring him a third one. Trying to be considerate we gave our food and drink order at the same time. After waiting about 10 minutes more with not even a single water on the table we were graced with the presence of a cockroach hurriedly scuttling across the floor to underneath our booth. Knowing we had already placed our food and drink orders, I let a manager know we wouldn't be staying. I understand we are in the south and bugs happen, but the attitude of our server (we only saw once) and management was unacceptable. I've been there, worked at an Applebee's for over a year and felt a guest who comes in hungry should be treated with respect. This is the first time in about five years I have been to this Applebee's and the service was amazing! When you walk in you are welcomed, and there was no wait. Not just with my table but all the tables after that. They have fixed the A/C and it was all around amazing! I highly recommend this Applebee's! This is the worst place in Covington for service. We waited for over 45 minutes to get our food and then I didn't get it all. The waitress was great. She tries but when you have others who don't care, it's hard to do. The manager thought he was doing me a favor by taking off my wife's drink because he couldn't take off for my salad. The only reason this establishment gets a 4 is because of one certain little waitresses Cionna (or Cici as she's also known). Waited close to an hour for our food while the table next to ours got their food first even though they sat down after us. What made matters worst is the table ordered similar meals to ours. After complaining to manager my ribs came out along with my wife's Mac and cheese and the food was cold and my ribs was not edible. My ribs was so tough I couldn't cut it with my knife. a co-coworker and I went there for lunch. We both had bad experience with that place a few years ago and decided to give it another try. boy oh Boy! was that a mistake! we arrived at 12:25 and there were hardly anyone and def. no big parties. The food didn't arrived until 12:55! (for 1 burger ea). We asked to talk to the manager which took about 10 minutes before coming to our table. we told her the experience was a disaster and she just stood there as she was somewhere. She mumbled she would take 1 entree off the bill. By the time we ate and paid, 1hr had passed. For all that is holy, if you value your sanity, DO NOT COME HERE. Our food took 45+ minutes to come out and when it did, it was just the appetizers. The manager seemed to be on something because he was very nonchalant about the whole thing, and kept blaming it on our server. She was amazing by the way but seemed overworked. There were many people not doing anything at all, and only about two people doing everything. Unfortunately, the food was actually really good, but the wait and the lack of care from the manager really prevented us from wanting to come back. We were seated quick enough but once out waitress got to the table she said very loudly "Coke,tea,water" not hello my name is or how can I serve you today just a shout at us in a weird kind of question. Then I ordered ribs and I ordered a full rack. It came our as 7 rib bones. I told my waitress that that is only a half rack and she got the manager who then proceeded to argue with me that it was a whole rack. It could not have been cause it was cut in the middle of the rack where the ribs are thickest. I know because I used to get the ribs every time I went there. After a much to long argument she says "whatever" and they change my bill. Well then she ( the manager ) goes to the bar and sits and stares at me the rest of the meal. The service has been terrible since the place opened. It survives merely on it's name and I'm guessing off the highway trade. Because of this we have decided to try the "to go" method. The first time my husband went in, ordered and left. He didn't check the bag...how complicated can packing an off the menu order be? Standard with my order comes pico de gallo. NOPE. Next time we did the call in for pick-up and I specifically said please don't forget the pico de gallo. Husband got there 20 minutes later, the order wasn't ready. Waited another 15 minutes, got the food left. Pico de gallo??? NOPE. Third time, I ordered off the internet, completely changing the dish I usually order that never comes with the pico de gallo it says it comes with. This time I got the oriental grilled chicken salad, with an oriental type dressing and sliced almonds. Specified curbside delivery within half hour. Off goes husband. When he got there with order number in hand it had not even been started on. When he got it home, I looked at my salad and wow, it looked good. Except there was NO dressing at all, either on the side or on the salad and not a single almond to be found. Please don't go to this place, they really don't need to be in business. Maybe if we all stop settling for their lack of caring the place will close and someone else who CARES will open up a decent restaurant. read more

I really don't know what has happened to this place in the last few months, the service is hit or miss and the food is too. Phoned in an order for a takeout on Monday 8/3 and the young lady who took my order told me, when I asked her to tell the chef no pink on my well done steak, that basically she wouldn't have to because if the steak is well done there want be any pink. When I got the steak home I had to microwave it on high for 2 minutes to get it done. There was a reason for me requesting this based on a previous dine in visit in which after sending the steak back once I elected to get a carry-out tray and take it home to finish cooking the steak. The service at least on this day was poor, I had to wait an additional 15 minutes after arriving to pickup my food with no communication from anyone after being asked at the bar if I was a dine in or takeout, not even a someone will be with you in a moment. To top the visit off the server went to the door looking for my vehicle when it was finally ready even after me informing her that I would come in to pickup my order. I usually tip 20% when dining in and a $1 even when I come inside to pickup a carry out meal, I thanked the server and left something I've only done once before for poor service.
