For two people it was 44$ and some change, that being said i got a 6oz steak with two sides on a Wednesday. On the table I was sitting at it had a paper showing on Wednesday you have a deal for the 6oz which would make it 9.99 for that and the two sides. my meal was 18$ all together. minus the drink and appetizer i got for my partner. The steak was smaller than 6oz more so like a 4oz and it was burnt. The outside was burnt to a crisp and dry, yet the inside was still incredibly raw. My partner got chicken tenders and french fries, which were undercooked. My partner didn't really eat her food due to it being undercooked and our server was a bit off about it. He walked closer to her and said "whats the matter did you not like it?" Which made her panic. The whole place was nasty looking to say the least, the table we got sat at was only half clean, I understand it was last hour but wouldn't that mean you'd be cleaning up the tables? As a server, I know theres things you have to do and apple bees does not do it. The food is consistently decent - cooked well, flavorful, no major complaints. Is it the best Applebee's that I've been to? No. Is it a decent meal for the price? Yes. In my experience, the service is good. I would caution you to not go here solely for cocktails at the bar. I would stick to well drinks and beer. The cocktails are really really watered down and just not worth the effort or the cost. Went do lunch on Friday. There were 8 other guests seated when we arrived. Took waitress 10 minutes to ever show up. After we ordered it took almost thirty minutes to get our food. Had to keep flagging down waitress to refill drinks even though the place was deserted. Requested a birthday dessert which had not arrived after ten minutes so we left. I noticed their health score was 85. Perhaps that's why the place was empty. Food was excellent but service was very lacking. UPDATE Went back a week later to experience the same horrendous service. Server Mercedes G brought our fajitas out without the wrappers and toppings. By the time she had brought them the fajitas were almost cold. There were less than eight freaking customers in the entire place so how in the hell can it take you that long? I went on the corporate website and filed a complaint and have not heard a single word from anyone. The problem with Applebee's begins at the very top. They obviously don't give a damn about customer service. Can someone explain to me how this place stays open when there are never any customers inside? We came at 7 pm on a Friday night with a party of 5. The very unmotivated hostess, who didn't wear a mask, told us that the wait would be 30 minutes and to wait outside. I had to ask her if she needed to put my name on a list, so she rummaged through her chaos to finally find a yellow marker and a piece of paper, and she wrote my name and phone number down. We stood next to the door for 45 minutes, during which a party of 5 and about 20 more people left the restaurant after they were done eating. The hostess did not seat one single person during that time, even though many, many families tried to get into the restaurant. When we checked on our status after 45 minutes, she said we just had to wait. We left. It has now been 90 minutes and she still hasn't called us. Unmotivated, no mask, completely unhelpful. The restaurant was half-empty (a Wednesday, night @8PM), so we figured we would probably get seated fast (it took FOREVER). After waiting (20) minutes watching restaurant staff LARKING and LAUGHING around the bar, a hostess comes over and attempted to seat us in the worst area (next to the restroom) but we REFUSED. There were PLENTY of other existing tables. We waited an additional (15) minutes and was finally seated. Waitress then takes (10) minutes to come to the table makes no eye contact and has an attitude. The waitress treated us like a bother, rather than guests. (A total lack of sincere greeting). We immediately left the restaurant and walked NEXT DOOR to LongHorn Steakhouse. At LongHorn's the staff treated us as high valued customers and we enjoyed the service and food. Placed a curbside pickup order. Pros: order was ready when I arrived, chicken wonton tacos were great - the chicken and slaw came in separate little containers. Both were cold, which I thought was odd, but still really good. Cons: everything tasted like they had made it and it had sat. I arrive three minutes after they said to, then drove two minutes back to work and immediately ate. Beer pub pretzels were supposed to have two sauces - didn't have any. Pretzels were not great, and I have ordered for delivery from other Applebees locations where they have sat for 15+ minutes and they are normally still great. Not here. Burger was overcooked, but otherwise not awful. Fries were mushy and gross. Boneless wings were crunchy and weird - ordered and paid for two sides of ranch, only got one. Ordered and paid for celery, didn't get any. Only giving two stars because the gal who took my order on the phone was lovely - very clear and specific, called me by name, really efficient. It's against my policy to rate a chain this high, but we were very happy with our meal. My whole family ordered steak, and I thought they were making a mistake. But I tried some of theirs, and I was impressed. Okay, not the same as a quality steakhouse, but the meat was tender and tasty. Absolutely worst service I've ever experienced in a steakhouse style restaurant. The server, Ebony T, was slow to take our order, but I forgave this when she helped us select menu options for my wife and daughter. Then when our appetizers started coming out randomly, my wife never got her house salad. They brought the entrees (my daughter did not receive a bread stick she asked for, my wife's steak was undercooked, and my burger was burned), and by this point, everyone's drink was empty, an hour had passed, and Ebony T was nowhere to be seen. I flagged down another waitress, Coco, who was super helpful and got my wife's salad and refilled all of our drinks in less than five minutes. We also asked to speak with the manager. She told us he was "behind the line" but would be sure to come out and see us. We waited another hour. No manager. Frustrated, ignored, and needing to get my daughter to bed because of the time, we paid our ticket and left. Ignored by Ebony T, and ignored by the manager. I've been reluctant to review this restaurant considering how we've always liked Applebee's all over the country. The service in Covington and Conyers however is simply pathetic. When we found out that the franchise owners are the same people of both establishments that answered a lot of questions. They simply don't care and that same careless attitude flows straight down to the front line of those they employee. Both restaurants have racial bias issues that desperately need addressing. Many patrons simply get up and walk out. If you should get your food, it seems to be prepared to Applebee's standards. Most of the employees are just winging it, lost without any leadership and complaining. I hate to come down like this but they've earned this review from me and countless others you've not even heard from yet. Step one is to make sure that these stores don't become black only catering establishments. Both Conyers and Covington have underlying spirit of racism that can only be a direct reflection of the franchise owners. That's just the way it is folks. I hope it gets better. Update: The district manager had asked us to wait six months before going back to eat and stated that the issues would be completely corrected within that timeframe..3/31/19 Our return visit, The discrimination was more rehearsed in its approach. This is the second time I've had a problem here. I said I would never go back after they messed up my last to-go order and were very rude to me. (This was about six months ago) But I let my wife talk me into it. So tonight I placed an on-line order about 1 before they closed, it was only 2 things and they said it would be ready in 30 minutes. So I get there ON TIME and it wasn't packed at all maybe 10 to 12 people there, mostly at the bar so I walked up to the bar and stood at the end waiting to be helped. It took 15 minutes before anyone even asked if I had an order, waitresses were walking by me and the bartender was helping other people. So finally I asked about the order and I was told one moment. The next time someone said anything to me was 37 minutes later. The manager walked up to me and said (mind you he has walked by me several times as well) there was a mixup in the kitchen and my food was being prepared right now. So I was going to voice how unhappy I was with the service but when I went to say something he shush me. Needless to say I was very unhappy at this point and I stood up and let him know that and went outside to my car, where my wife had been sitting for the past 45 minutes and she went back into get the food. This establishment has really declined. My husband and I ordered a take out order. When I went in to pick it up, the restaurant was filthy! Trash all over the floors.. dirty glasses and dishes piled on the bar. While I was waiting for my order to come out, the bar tender and two of the waitresses were gossiping about how much they disliked another employee, and how she is weird and socially awkward. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Then two of the waitresses got into an argument over a drink that was made for one of the tables. So my food FINALLY came out. The total was $38 and some change. I handed her a $100, she looked at me like I had eight heads and said, oh, umm I don't know if I have change for this.. so let me get this straight. It's 8 pm and you are telling me that you don't have 3, 20 dollar bills in this restaurant? She said, hold on let me ask my manager , she came back approximately 10 minutes later with the change.. the food was alright, not great or nearly as good as it used to be. But I also was kind of grossed out by the appearance and cleanliness of the restaurant and couldn't help thinking, if this is what the dining area looks like, what does the kitchen look like!???. Anyway, I probably will not eat there again unless going with a group that chooses it. There is no reason why it should take almost a hour to get dessert that is already pre-made. They take so long to bring your food that by the time you get it, its cold or something is missing. After waiting one hour after our food order was taken (while the restaurant is almost EMPTY) and also watching 2 separate tables whom arrived after us and are eating their food, I went to speak w management. Manager appeared, said Hello. I explained the situation also telling him that some of my family had left without eating. simply said he would take care of it. No smile, no apology, nothing. He turned and went back to wherever. Never saw him again. No courtesy extended to us in any manner. At 70 minutes after ordering, our grilled chicken and potato arrived. Check was presented to us.
