Saturday afternoon visit, we were seated finally after the hostess gave us an unofficial tour of the place. She didn't know which section to seat us in, but we finally were seated after hearing someone say " just sit them up top". We sit down and our waitress, who was on her second day came for our drink orders. We ordered soup and salad also at the time of the drink orders. Drinks came out 5 mins later, but the soup and salad took about 30 mins. Soup arrived with no spoon and I needed more ice for my warm tea, my friend asked for a spoon during this time. Spoon arrives, but no ice. Food orders taken and I ordered the parmesan steak and shrimp with loaded mashed potatoes. Our food arrives sometime later and is brought to us by another server in training. We ask for steak sauce, but was not given the option of what they have, the guy just walked off and came back with Heinz 57. Well during all this our waitress is MIA (missing in action), when she finally comes back to " check"on the table, I was halfway done with my food. I asked what type of mashed potatoes did she enter and I told her I ordered loaded. She said she didn't hear me say that. Yes, she offered to take my plate back. Um no maam I'm half way done, it took you forever to come back and if I had sent it back on telling when I would get it back. The entree was actually tasty and I was really impressed by the flavor( unless I was just hungry). The green beans were good and the steak was medium well(perfect medium well)!! Was not dry at all and the regular mashed potatoes were pretty good too. No seasoning needed for this order, which again shocked me. They could have put my plate back in the cabinet, I ate every drop. Lol Despite being MIA the whole visit, she was prompt with bringing the check! Another waitress came by to check on the table, come to find out, we were in her section, but she was late due to car trouble. While speaking to the new waitress, the other waitress comes back and almost knocks the new waitress down trying to get the check. She would walk behind guests and not offer an excuse me, but more of a " if I can fit through here I, I wont have to say anything to anyone" The bathroom was clean, however the floor leading down the ramp to the bathroom and by the back exited were dirty, as well as the front door entrance. Went to grab supper early 5pmcst waitress was as sweet as she could be, the food my wife got was good but the place was dirty lots of soap left on the silverware, the section we sat in has food and other items on the floor. the biggest issue is the food I got (chicken breast with broccoli and potatoes) the chicken was aweful/ overcooked like it and the broccolie had been under a light since lunch. Last night ordered chicken bowl online. Waited over 15 minutes. When in to see if ordered was ready. Waited more. Receive order. Got home open the plate and what a disappointment.the rice was literally uncooked and some ingredients was missing. If you dont like your job find another one. Customer pay for this food. It would be cool if they added another type of steak, because I'm getting tired of sirloin and ribeye. Let's get this review on Seating Was pretty quick, and the booths were pretty nice. I enjoyed some of the music they played, but it was really quiet, and the restaurant was quiet, too. Service The waitress was pretty nice, and she got our food in a considerable amount of time. My husband & I came in and the hostess motioned for us to just sit anywhere. We sat for approximately 45 minutes to one hour and no one acknowledged us. My husband went to the bar and asked who was waiting our table. The bartender did not know. All of the staff were black and we are black. Interestingly, when three white customers entered, they were immediately seated and served. We left and went to another restaurant. We do not plan on ever returning. The only thing that was decent was the pretzel sticks.... we had kids cheese pizza, barely any cheese, kids chicken tenders (very hard), buffalo wings (hubs said they were just ok), and I had the shrimp and Parmesan steak.... shrimp was so salty I couldn't eat it, and steak was tough.... We were in Memphis for Elvis' 85th birthday celebration and had a couple gift cards for Applebee's. We stopped at Applebee's in Bartlett while out and about for dinner. We were seated pretty quickly, but waited quite a while for the server to show up. Our food came out and was correct. Once we were finished we waited quite a bit longer for our check. We paid the check and had about $9 and some change left on the remaining gift card. We left the server a $10 cash tip despite the less than great service (I gave him the benefit of the doubt because they were busy). I went to Applebee's back home last night and was surprised to find only $0.88 left on my gift card. What happened to the balance? Did the server take an even larger tip??? read more

I ordered a medium bacon cheeseburger, with avocado added for an extra $0.99. First of all, my burger arrived with no avocado on it. When I told my waiter, I was brought a bowl of avocado that looked older than dirt, and was very grey. I said I didn't want the avocado, and I decided to still eat the burger. Bad idea. I ordered a medium burger, and it was more well done than any burger I've ever had. Also, the bun was burnt and everything was dry. Will not be coming back. Please heed these reviews. This location is close to hopeless. I come here often, as this location is right around the corner from my job. Each time I come the food quality is less than ok. The service is reasonable, so I can't blame the servers, except the blonde bartender, is slower than two turtles racing on a road of molasses. I don't know who they have in the kitchen, but they cannot cook, and clearly can't follow simple directions. I'm positive that the recipes are not THAT difficult to follow... most of the dishes call for you to heat up frozen food... how hard can that be? Heat it up.. and make it look like the picture in the menu... They pay them $10 an hour and they can't follow simple directions. If I order a penne pasta... why do you bring me linguini pasta with a smile and expect me to pay and tip at the end? SMH... I bought a salad today, and this crap is what motivated me to leave this review today. The salad I purchased today, was supposed to be for my lunch. I could not eat it as the lettuce was older than my current wig. The eggs were just about whole, and overall, the salad was just soggy and sad. I'm pissed and still hungry. I try not to blame the servers for the cooks' shortcomings, but the issue is, time and time again, I've had food delivered to me that was sub par, so clearly the servers do not check the food before they drop it in front of the customers. I never see the manager when I'm in there so nothing is being handled. Its a wonder that they still even get customers. Applebees is LUCKY to get the money that they've gotten from me because I'm ready to call and cut up on them right now, but instead I'll just leave this review to steer others from them. Dirty glasses with bits of god knows what floating around in my tea... STRIKE TWO. Went here twice in one week and both times the service was terrible. On the first occasion, we ordered sliders and they came completely plain, no sauce or onions and the bread was not toasted like it normally is, it was cold and stale and so dry that I almost choked trying to swallow it. I pulled the bun off to show her how they looked and she laughed and said they forgot the other stuff so she brought out a bowl of sauce and onions and walked off. No "sorry about that" or anything. My mother ordered unsweetened ice tea and there is no sweetener on the table so I flagged down the server and asked if we could get some sweet-n-low. 10 minutes later I went digging around the bar to find some. We never got drink refills either. The only napkin we had was the one wrapped around the silverware and we had messy food. This was 3pm in the afternoon, hardly a mad rush on a weekday. The server just seemed lazy and annoyed the whole time. Went back two days later (assuming the bad service was just a fluke) and had a different server. I ordered a sandwich and fries. I discovered the ketchup bottle on the table was empty and my server was busy chatting with other employees so I got up to locate a bottle of ketchup. When I started eating the sandwich I realized it was very messy and I had sauce all over me. I was craning and looking all around for my server and could not spot her. Other servers would look away knowing full well I needed something. So, I got up and found extra napkins (which were next to a group of employees visiting with each other). I polished off my drink mid-sandwich and needed a refill. Same thing, looking around for SOMEONE and everyone looked away because they could tell I needed something. So, I got up and walked to the kitchen to ask for a drink refill. My server came out and I asked her for a refill and she took my glass and disappeared for at least 5 minutes...it was an abnormally long time to refill a fountain drink. No "oh I'm sorry" or anything. I finish up my meal and needed to leave but of course, no check. I start the whole process again with all of the employees pretending to not notice I needed something. I got up and went to the register and told the group of employees who were still visiting with each other if I could get my check. This was at 2:30pm in the afternoon and there were maybe 5 tables in the whole restaurant. They treated me as if I was interrupting their break time. I enjoy Applebee's food when they prepare it correctly, but the service at this location is so bad we have decided we will drive to another part of town WAY out of our way if we get a hankering for some Asian tacos or something. After 3 phone calls to tell them I was there and to check on my order. Each time I was told they would check, but offered no additional information. Waiting an additional 35 minutes to pick up an order, and getting no communication from restaurant is ridiculous. If I had been told they were short staffed and asked if I would be willing to come in to get my order wod have solved the problem. This was by far the worst Applebee's experience we've ever had, the place is disgustingly dirty, it needs a scrubbing from corner to corner, the food came very quickly but the salad was old, fries didn't taste fresh and the chicken was barely warm, I asked them to reheat and brought it out again and it looked like a new meal but barely warm again, our kids always choose Applebee's for their birthday meal and we told them we we're celebrating our sons birthday but the wait said they don't sing to them, at least he still got his birthday treat!! read more

Our food was over 18mins cook time and we should have gotten it free because the menu said 12 mins or its free, however the waiter said she put the order in b4 she rung the ticket up. I'm going to say I have honestly never had a good experience at an Applebee's even though I love their food. I am very happy to say I had my first good experience there on Monday 4-17-17. Our server was a younger man with dreads and I wish I would have caught his name. He was fabulous! He was friendly and prompt. All around his service was on par with the type of service we get at far nicer places. The food is pretty much always the same, it's the staff at these chains that make or break them and this young man was outstanding. If the management is wise they would keep that guy on staff as long as possible. read more

The service. I have a 15 month old daughter. She is not a booster seat child, yet. I mean, she can, but she is wriggly and it's much easier to strap her into a high chair. Our server refused to give me a highchair, stating that they can't put them in the aisle. They then refused to move us to a place where you can put a highchair and insisted I use a booster. Welllll.... the boosers straps were ripped off, and they wouldn't get me a new one. So I'm fighting with a fidgety, exploratory child and we order our food with barely a glance at the menu, in and out, right? Wrong. The food took FOREVER. When it finally did come out, the kids meal didn't. When THAT finally came out, we were finished and it was way too hot for her to touch. When she finally did get to eat, it took another 30 minutes to get a check and another 15 for her to pick it back up. Why didn't I leave? I don't know... I was with my mom and sister, and we were there, and the baby was in, it was just a dumb decision. On this experience tonight 1 star if your are ordering Togo. You will go through the whole process online just for it to tell you they are closed. Then you call they say they are closed just for you to drive past and see that they are open. Then you walk inside to place a Togo order and they have to standing waiting for 10+ minutes have workers walk by like you aren't there. It's only after someone in the line of 3+ to ask why it's taking so long for them to even act like you there. Then they have no idea who is supposed to be doing what so the manager has to step in and take over. The food itself is good and if you are going earlier in the day the waiters are fantastic but last time I dined in I could smell the alcohol on their breath and she continuously forgot about us. She literally said she forgot about us. I am at a crossroads because when I say the waiter in the day is good I mean he is one of my favorite waiters.
