It's Independence weekend and once again, I played this course for the second time…read more On the property of the Rumbling Bald Resort. This is the sister course to Apple Valley Golf Course which is about a mile away. This year, the experience was 'post-COVID' and considerably better. They have more staff on hand to provide support at the front desk and with assistance with the carts as you check-in. The main guy, Matt is a real pro and very helpful. The starter could be your Grandmother, she is a sweet and likable lady who has worked there for years. I had the earliest tee time on a Saturday and she told me: you are my pace setter, my jackrabbit, my dew sweeper! She had my laughing right from the get go and I told her I wouldn't let her down. It's a semi-private course and the green fee remains at $75 which covers your range balls. They allow playing off the rubber mat only and irons only. Once again, no food at the club house but the food cart still makes the rounds and you can get a breakfast biscuit in the morning and a hot dog or wrap later in the day. Greens are very fast, fairways are a bit narrow in some areas but overall an easy to manage course even if you've never played before, the cart paths are well marked to get you from green to tee.

Incredible golf course. Bent grass greens. Excellent condition. Great layout with scenic views…read more Love coming up here from ATL

Introduction: Orchard Trace Golf Course in Hendersonville,…read moreNC is a great spot for a round of golf. It's a par-72 course that measures 6,567 yards from the back tees, making it a great option for experienced players and beginners alike. However, it's not without its flaws--let's take a look at what makes this course both enjoyable and challenging. Blog Body: Layout & Difficulty: The layout of Orchard Trace is fairly straightforward, with few surprises or gimmicks thrown in. Each hole is straightforward and easy to understand, which makes it ideal for golfers of all skill levels. There are also several water hazards throughout the course that can make things interesting if you're not careful. The fairways are generally quite wide and forgiving, but there are some narrow ones as well that can be tricky to navigate. The greens are slightly undulating but mostly flat, so you don't have to worry about having to putt with any major breaks or slopes. Course Conditions & Amenities: Unfortunately, the course conditions at Orchard Trace leave something to be desired. The fairways were quite rough when I played here and the greens were slow and bumpy as well. Additionally, there aren't many amenities onsite--just a small pro shop where you can buy drinks and snacks before teeing off. That said, the staff was friendly and helpful when I visited and they did their best to make sure my experience was enjoyable despite the subpar condition of the course itself. Value for Money: For the most part, Orchard Trace offers good value for money; green fees are fairly reasonable (around $20 for 18 holes) and there aren't any additional costs or hidden fees associated with playing here. All in all, if you're looking for an affordable round of golf in Hendersonville then this is definitely worth considering--just don't expect too much in terms of quality! Conclusion: All things considered, I had a fun time playing at Orchard Trace Golf Course in Hendersonville. While it may not be the best golf course around by any means - due to its rough condition - it still provides an enjoyable experience with great value for money overall! If you're looking for an affordable place to hit the links then this should definitely be on your list of options! Just make sure you bring your own clubs; they don't rent them out here!
