I really liked this market. It may not be the largest, but large enough to carry quality Latin American & Mexican products, not to mention regular local products. I was able to pick up a corn tortilla, queso fresco, panela cheese, skirt steak, and a variety of produce to make homemade salsa. All were well priced. They have a kitchen where they roast ribs, chicken, and beef products. They also make their own pork rinds. The in house bakery offers cakes, breads, and pan dulce. Customer service was nice at the cash registers and helpful and the meat counter.

Really expensive and not the meat I asked

I usually love this store but yesterday I went there to buy meat Arrachera para coser and they gave me small and skinny pieces of flat meat I paid 28 dollars and it was some pieces of meat with lots of grease . I don't live in Chula Vista so I can't go a returned but I will talk with the owners they are always there .. Check your meat people not fair

    White mold . Horrific

Horrible , unsanitary food ! You should check your food daily if you are selling groceries to people . I bought some camotes and I opened the container and bite one and immediately spit it out. I then noticed the mold and the horrible smell. It's not about the money it's about people's health ! You should have a manger check food constantly to make sure it's fresh . How dare you sell this to customers what if I were to get sick .

    White onion full of mold!

When you buy a dozen flour tortillas you get eight, nine and if your lucky ten. Never twelve. Their produce is more expensive.

Their menudo is amazing ....I usually eat it every weekend. It's my go staple to recharge over the weekend. That and an energy drink. Their tortas are also epic! Highly recommend!!! I've noticed they are getting busier and busier so morning is probably the best time. Say around 10 -10:30 am. Especially on wkends. It can also get packed .. bring patience and manners. The ambiance inside the market is also nice ..not overpowering like say Albertsons. They have a great selection of food and drinks...not only alcohol but energy drinks, waters, Starbucks bottled coffee and sodas as well. When I was sick, I came here with a mask on and ordered their caldo de res...with all the veggies and the warm broth it actually helped me feel better. Plus the generous chunks of veggies helped me get some nutrition in me. That and the menudo on the weekends are what I believe helped me get past being sick. Truly grateful for this place being nearby!! I highly recommend this market.....it has amazing food, amazing employees, and a really decent selection. Need laundry soap but think you have to go to name brand store? Nope! Head over towards the butcher in the back, across from the pan dulce and you'll find it! They also have instant coffee and creamer. Speaking of their pan dulce ... absolutely must try!! It's delicious!!!

If it's close to expiration, it will bagged up already for you at a very discounted price. These are normally sitting in shopping carts off to the side. Some folks come here and do their regular grocery shopping, because the lower priced items make up for the slightly higher priced stuff. End result- you are mostly spending the same in the end. There are deals to be had, just take the time and look. Fresh butcher shop/carnicería, fresh corn & flour tortillas(made here), quality pan dulce and even prepared food to order- called Elena's Kitchen- are all reasons to come here. We come for the tortillas, produce and hot food. I like the rolled tacos, the lady likes the menudo. Quick service with no attitudes too. We both like the rice and beans & wanna try more things! Definitely worth checking out when in the area.

I never really have a difficult time finding things in stock and they are extraordinary when it comes to calling them for stock checks. Roughly 85-90% of the staff I have ever met here have been exceptionally great to be around. I used to bond with one of the girls back in my early 20s when I started coming here in the late 2000s. I know that it's probably an extrovert part of me, but the people who work here are oddly therapeutic to talk to and they make the day easier with their questions. It feels like a family whenever I talk to anyone working the cash register. I love the quality of everything at Trader Joe's. I even use their skincare. Highly recommended and comparable to large brand names for cheaper prices. I don't know how Trader Joe's always knows how to get with the times, but they do a good job most of the time getting down flavors/vibes. The ambiance is easy to navigate, very straightforward layout. I highly suggest going before lunch time/after school rush. Don't be surprised if you meet your soulmate at Trader Joe's! The bright lights and flowing conversations make it easy to talk to randoms. Please invite me if you do meet your soulmate at this one. The card I sign will most likely be from their clever card section selection. Teehee

It has a solid hot-and-ready food counter plus fresh pastries, all in one place. Parking: there are plenty of spaces, but if you drive a big SUV or truck, the lanes feel tight, so just take it slow. Inside: clean, bright, and easy to shop. Hot food is right when you walk in (to the right) which makes it perfect for a quick stop. The selection is great. They have rice, beans, pozole, chicken, pork, beef, tamales, fresh fruit, and drinks like aguas frescas. We grabbed shrimp and fish ceviche with chips (fresh and cold, perfect for game day), plus some baked goods and a few things to prep at home. Everything looked fresh and well stocked. Staff were friendly, and the store was kept nice and clean. If you need party food fast or you want a one-stop shop with better prepared food than the usual grocery run, this place is a good move.

Omg I love this Sprouts with a passion!…read more First of all.. "Sushi Wednesdays!" The sushi here is good if not better than some sushi spots in Chula Vista. It's pretty fresh and not a fishy taste/smell. They will even take requests. Lately I will call one of my homegirls and yell, "Sushi Wednesdays!" And we will laugh and laugh and make our way over. Do not sleep on chunky cookie time. The singular packed chocolate chip cookies are delicious. Better than some local bakery cookies I have had and cheaper in price, but not quality. This location has my favorite sandwich and smoothie and deli/butcher. They are the friendliest people with hearts waiting to serve and you can tell they like their jobs. They are easy to exchange words with here. The store is clean and organized. I can find way more stuff here than other locations. It is spacious and it has been rare that I have been shopping while it was overly crowded. The crowded area I would say would be the sandwich/smoothie deli during lunchtime for sure because schools/colleges/trade programs in the area will all come and get the lunch specials. The sandwich deal is so smart of them to do because in this economy, it is harder to find a good deal. Back in the day, they used to include sprouts in the sandwiches for free, but now in 2026 I rarely see sprouts sold in stores even. Healthiest smoothie I have had was the green detox, highly recommended. Every single week a different smoothie goes on sale so check the weekly ads for your favorite smoothie. The meat quality is amazing always! I always get chicken, fish, and beef on sale. I have gotten sick before from meats from markets that inject hormones in the meats. I trust Sprouts a lot and have never gotten sick from their raw meats. High quality for sure.

I also appreciated that the produce was very fresh, organized, and vast. I found the Albino Pink Strawberries here, as well as the Okinawa (purple Ube) Yams! This is AWESOME. I have not been drinking alcohol lately and it was VERY REFRESHING to find that they have a nice selection of non-alcoholic beverages. There were several variations of Athletic Non-Alcoholic Beers, nice. My FAVORITE non-alcoholic find was the Mocktails brand called "Mingle". The different flavors looked delicious and seemed to be priced very well. Our cashier was great, she had good customer service. She also showed us the new 25 cents reusable Sprouts shopping bags. They are made of a pretty sturdy material and are a nice khaki tan color with the green Sprouts logo. We purchased 3 of them. Overall, great trip here on a Friday Night, minus the $200 we spent on great groceries, still a great trip.
