Going into an Apple Store is like seeing a bald middle-age man with a belly driving a Lamborghini. Impressively groomed, but utterly lack of characters of its own. Always busy and with an uplifting vibe, which is kind of another unique "Apple" thing they try to impose, but high-fiving the long queue of people waiting for buying the latest latest model of iPhone seemed... fake and pretentious. Let alone the fact that nowadays it's not the Apple hardcore fans queuing, but more like the mainland Chinese and Southeast Asians who are professional buyer-resellers. Seriously, if you walk around IFC during any new model launch, you'll see the largest number of people holding big fat cash notes on the hand ever in your life. Now back to the bald middle-age man, I mean, the sight inside the shop. If you are wondering how many of these hundreds of people are customers, you are on the same page. The answer is 3, at most. The rest of them? Probably playing Candy Crush on the iPad displayed for demo, or waiting inline to talk to one of the Apple Genius. Oh the Genius. They are good, but hardly genius. They are marginally better than the tech support who asks you to "Have you tried turning it off and on again?", but Google is always your better friend for solving any Mac problems. When I go to Apple Store. This is my routine: Walk in, talk to a staff and tell them exactly what I want. Walk straight to the product I want. Pick it up. Turn around and you may see one of those staff with the fancy iPhone with the payment-gadget. Ding! You pay immediately without queuing at the cashier, and you walk out of the shop. Take 5mins if you are lucky. Go elsewhere if you have trouble breathing among the crowd. read more

The 100th Apple Store in the world, and first Apple Store in Hong Kong. Opened on September of 2011 (a week before Steve Jobs passing - RIP). Other than the Apple Store in NYC, this is also another one of my favorite Apple Stores in the world. I love how the design on the outside blends in with the mall architecture, and also love the views to the outside from within the store itself. This store also has the best location, being that it's shared with IFC Mall, Hong Kong Station and also not too far from Central Station. I use this place as a meeting point all the time particularly people traveling who don't have mobile data because of the wifi at the Apple Store. Service in the Apple store is also very consistent to other stores worldwide (and within HK itself) and like most HK retail, it is offered in English, Cantonese and Putonghua. read more

If you drop your iPhone in water/on the pavement as much as I do, you'll probably have encountered the same issues with booking an appointment at the genius bar as I have. I find it so frustrating that a store so large can not have one session free for three days in a row. However, on the two (ok three) occasions that I have just showed up, I've managed to grab an appointment within a couple of hours. The staff obviously take pity on the shattered mess I present to them and send me off on a mini shopping spree whilst dealing with customers who HAVE managed to book an appointment. When I finally do sit down with a 'Genius' it drives me mad that without fail I'm told I need to replace my handset when I know that someone in Mongkok will change the screen for me in a few hours... but of course, then there is no warranty... so I end up footing the extortionate bill to have it done by the book. However, genius bar rant over, I really like the Apple store. My brother is notoriously tricky to buy for and the newest gadget on the Apple Store shelves always does the trick and makes me look seriously tech savvy in the process. I have bought everything from a Jambox to a Fit Bit to pair of sound eliminating headphones there. I also really appreciate their system of emailing receipts - in 2014 surely we are done with the paper receipts that end up in the trash anyway. However, the recent report that the internal staircase is a hot spot for peeping toms (it's made of perspex ladies... ) has made me think twice about wearing skirts. read more

Apple store in the heart of HongKong. This apples store is in the middle of the best and center of hongkong mall and attractions. It is big, open, all glass. And all the employees are all from everywhere like the USA, Austrialia, the UK... they were super nice and helpful. We were getting a phone and had to wait to have something engraved on it, it took a bit of time but didn't feels it because I was blown away by the Ferris wheel across the road, the amazing walk path and bridge which I later went on and the view of China across the river. Lot of selfies were taken here ( amazing lighting). The store was busy with lot of people that are not buying anything/ they are sitting and standing around enjoying the scenery of the city from the Apple store - making it difficult for the customers to get a sit - but who want s to sit when you have such an amazing selfie locations. :). read more

I visit Apple Store around twice a year, mostly to get my phone, iPad or Macbook repaired. It's definitely not my favourite place to go but I know I have no choice when my electronic devices are broken. There're three Apple Stores in Hong Kong, including the one at Causeway Bay, Central IFC and Festival Walk. I normally go to the one at IFC mall, which is the most convenient to me. They provide a lot of services there, such as free workshops, one to one training, free youth programs and of course, their hands-on technical support for your Apple products (the service that I need the most!). Since I'm pretty clumsy, I always drop my iPhone and... it gets broken a lot. The Genius Bar is like my angel, fixing my broken products and giving me advices on how to take good care of them. It's better to make a reservation before you head to the Apple Store since they get pretty busy sometimes and might make you wait for hours before you can meet the Apple experts at the Genius Bar. Apart from these awesome services, you can also find all sorts of products at Apple Retail Store, from devices like iPod, iPhone and iPad to accessories like wireless speaker, USB ethernet adapter and iPad smart cover. If you fancy a gift for friends, apple store gift cards are available in any amount from $200-$40000. Although, I genuinely hope I don't have to visit the Genius Bar again, I still want to shop and get the latest accessories for my devices at the Apple Store. read more

I wish zero stars was possible. They removed all function from my phone with exception of wifi and can't fix it. His morning a friend here in Hong Kong said not to come here, that ever since the American launch team left, so did the service. I agree.
