As Apple's first store in Hong Kong, this place is still my favourite one of all. Maybe it's because I live near here, or perhaps the sentimental memories, having been there during be opening ceremony, or perhaps it's because it's one of the few stores in Hong Kong that has an AWESOME VIEW.
Compared to other stores, this store closes a lot sooner (9pm), which to a certain degree affects their ability to provide more Genius Bar appointments, and oh my does this place get busy. That being said, I feel that this store is better equipped than others in the area to handle large volumes of customers, and I generally buy products here mainly because it feels less chaotic/intimidating. That's probably because they separate their floors by function, and thanks to that classic spiral staircase, there's a clear division between purpose in the sales floors- each product has an immediately apparent place, which overall makes service feel much more efficient.
Staff are nice and helpful as you'd expect them to be at an Apple store, but due to the sheer volume of service requests at this location, walk in support sessions are a pretty bad idea, as they may simply turn you away because their schedule is literally packed, or you may have to wait close to an hour to get help (if you come early in the morning).
Aside from issues of crowding, this store still runs very efficiently and interactions with staff are pleasant. If you do come in charging an appliance, keep an eye of your stuff, there are a lot of kids running around and you never really know what could happen next once they get their hands on your stuff. read more
