(I need 2 days a week for each injury, so I am there 4 times a week) Normally you would have one physical therapist but they were able to squeeze me in a little bit with everyone. It is a busy place for a reason. Everyone is really nice and focused on helping you achieve your goals. Yesterday I saw Preston (the owner) He was interested in how I got hurt and how to help me get better. I can tell he genuinely cares about the people who go there (both staff and customer). I originally walked in because North Harbor is close to my home but I will contue to go there because of the quality of care. I have already recommended them to someone who is hurting, because (please don't take my time slot) but they are good enough to share with your friends.

So back in mid 2023, I broke my foot... Like the devastating kind of break. I had three fractures…read moreand a torn ligament that resulted in a major surgery that required four screws be placed in my foot to stabilize it and pin the ligament while it healed... End to end, I spent the better part of seven months in a boot. It was pretty awful. After surgery, my orthopedic surgeon recommended physical therapy... He said that it definitely could help me and I should give it a shot, even though I was skeptical. It's important to note that I was over 300 pounds when I had my final surgery and I was in a very weird place where I had to exercise if I wanted to lose weight, but my injury was so grievous that anything more than a slow walk was excruciating the next day. Enter Nate at Anchor Physical Therapy... I had my initial intake with him and while I did try another therapist, they weren't as good as a fit, so I adjusted my schedule to make sure I was available when Nate was available, and I started showing up for his first appointment every Friday morning. I've been working with Nate for over a year and while weight loss was definitely not part of our goal setting together, it was part of my personal journey, and he contributed to this greatly. He gave me homework, and I did it... Ensuring that I was moving my body, stretching, and doing the little things that he asked me to do in order to get better. This is an essential part of the journey, doing the homework. I won't bore you with all of the myriad of details of my recovery, but suffice just to say that in the last year I have lost 90 pounds, and I have graduated from a hobble to training for a 5K, after being told that it was likely I would never run again. With help from Anchor Physical Therapy, I have overcome the odds and in spite of injury, osteoarthritis, and schedule challenges, I've come out on top. As far as details go, I would also like to add that the front desk staff and management is phenomenal. They were always really great about dealing with my insurance, which is Tricare and that can be challenging at times. The referrals didn't always come through the right way, or there was a hiccup, but they always made sure it got taken care of, and they communicated every step of the way. Big thanks to the whole anchor team at this location and especially Nate.

Ryan Downing was my provider and I only worked with him. That made progress much easier than seeing multiple providers. We were always on the same page. But I wonder how that works with billing if they are billing 1:1 for an hour when that is actually not happening. So the PT worked with myself and another patient from across the room. Hard to assess when you're not there and with another patient. This does not seem like standard practice and when I asked to get schedule on 1:1 was told it was not an option. The PT was very nice and knowledgeable but the business model does not seem adequate for patient care.

Pulled hamstrings, quads, sprained ankles you name it, I've probably had to deal with it! But being able to get stem treatment and ultra sound done was always so helpful. Not such a fan of the stem... To me kinda feels like ants crawling all over your skin... But I just deal with it because the results are amazing! Heating and icing as well were recommended, as with most injuries! But being able to come here and get some work done with the therapist, leaning new stretches and exercises to help warm up the muscles to stretch them more still helps me to this day! My initial visit was just assessment and paperwork. The second visit was a nightmare. I checked in for my appointment and the lobby reeked of sweaty body odor. It was so strong and disgusting! I assumed it was another client waiting to be seen. I couldn't wait to be picked up so I could leave the lobby area. My appointment was with the manager/PT gentleman. As he led me back to the table I realized IT WAS HIM that smelled so bad. I just didn't even know what to say to him!!! Almost an hour I had to sit through that smell and him and the other therapists just talked and gossiped the ENTIRE time. Just YAPPIN!!! It was SO loud, smelly and uncomfortable. I ended up cancelling all my appointments there. Left with a migraine. There was no way I was returning to that. I ended up rescheduling all of my appointments at the Lakewood location with a traveling therapist. Unfortunately she was filling in at the UP location, so I went there to see her. This time, thankfully, there was only one other therapist with her client. However, she happened to recognize me from my first visit/assessment with her. It was obvious she recognized me and had a bit of an attitude. I thought maybe I was just being overly sensitive perhaps. But then my therapist noticed her behavior as well and we tried to stay away from her. I would normally end my sessions on the seated stepper for about 10 to 15 minutes. There were about 3 or 4 of these type machines available. This therapist brought her client over and told me she needed the machine for her client and to move. The exchange was so uncomfortable that her client said no that's okay I can just go on this machine here. My therapist and I just stared at each other in disbelief. The blatant attitude was just gross and unnecessary. Needless to say I am in current need of a physical therapist and I would NEVER EVER go back to this place again. Enter at your own risk!!!

I was told someone was going to get back with about a large bill I received from them because it was billed incorrectly to my insurance and it took them almost 8 months or longer and now they are blaming my insurance.
