I hired All Star Stain to stain my pergola and parts of my fence two weeks ago…read more The good: -he answered my Yelp quote request within 24 hours, asked for pics, and gave me a quote by email. This is the reason I went with him. -price was good. I got two quotes. One from a large company with a salesman and All Star. The difference wasn't huge, but I figured the difference between paying a salesperson commission. -Chris is very nice. The bad: -was not a huge concern for me, but he was late for our first meeting and late for the job. Late as in hours. I work out of the house so no big deal. -I asked him to use a specific stain mandated by our HOA. It's Ready Seal so no crazy request on my part. The stain he used looks okay but doesn't quite match the rest of the neighborhood. -he spilled stain droplets on my pool deck stone. Around 30 quarter sized drops. -Chris removed my two lounge chairs and grill under the pergola to do the job, but left without putting them back. I did it, no problem, but not sure why he didn't. -he took my fan and light remote off the support beam. I have no clue where he put it, but my dog sure did. She chewed it up and it is now completely trashed. I ordered a new one which eliminated the small savings I got by using them.

I hired this company to paint the wood trim on the exterior of my home…read more The first time they came was in the evening, even though I was told they would come in the morning (Herbert and Christian are the workers that came), they worked till night and told me the job was done. I inspected the job and advised them that a portion of the job looks incomplete. Christian assured me that it was just wet and it was too dark to see. I paid them the full balance of $800 in cash. The next morning, I noticed I was right and sent them text messages with pictures to prove it. They both advised me that they would be back to finish the job and what was needed was a ladder tall enough to finish the job. They came back the following week with a long pole and a brush. They did not bring a tall ladder to reach the highest point and when they were done they called me to check the work. I noticed that there was paint on the brick (where there shouldn't be any paint) and they didn't do a good job of painting the wood trim at the highest point. When I brought this up, Christian kept on telling me he didn't see anything wrong with the job and that the job was complete. Again, I insisted the job wasn't done and could be neater. Christian again stated he didn't have a ladder tall enough so he couldn't really get the high part. This was in the evening. I waited again till the next day when the sun was out, and I could take clear pictures of their work. I sent the pictures to Herbert which clearly shows the areas where the paint was on the bricks and it shows the terrible job they did with the wood trim. There is also an area of the wood trim they didn't paint at all. Herbert sent a reply, that they will come back with a tall ladder. He didn't commit to a time. This would be the second promise this company is making. Herbert assessed the job before starting. Why take the job and charge me $800 if you knew your company did not have a ladder and could not do a good job. They shouldn't have taken the job to begin with. I have filed a complaint with BBB that they still haven't responded to. That should be a clear warning sign to anyone even thinking of hiring this company. Even though I sent them pictures that clearly show the job was shoddy, improperly done and incomplete in some areas, still no response from them. ****UPDATE**** These guys never responded to BBB's attempt to contact them. They also never called me back. That is a clear sign you should stay away from this company. Thankfully, I found somebody else that did an awesome job for a reasonable price.

Zach was very knowledgeable and responsive from quote to completion, and their team did an excellent job executing our project. They engaged us regularly about our preferences and were extremely responsive to any minor concerns we had. In the end, we got exactly what we want and the work looks great! The company truly lives up to their name. Our project included the following work: - concrete pool deck & path replacement with paving stones - retaining wall rebuild - stone wall tuck pointing - flower bed edging replacement - back fill and leveling of yard - sod replacement - crushed granite path installation along fence line. I highly recommend them for all of these services! --------------- June 2018 - I want to update my previous review, because I had a settling issue with the pool deck pavers Clients First installed last July. I contacted Zach to let him know about the gaps opening up between the pavers and the cracks in the stone border mortar. He immediately responded that it was covered under warranty and provided me with a time frame for his team to repair it. They came out, added re-bar and concrete to the foundation to prevent future shifting and relaid all the pavers. Couldn't be happier with the responsiveness and workmanship. Many companies are quick to respond to problems when money is on the line, but this is one of the few I've worked with that cares about their clients when there is nothing to gain financially. Couldn't be happier!

If you are thinking of hiring Reveles Roofing to work on your property, PLEASE read this…read morebeforehand. It could save you from a massive headache. We had them do a number of projects on our house (roof, gutters, sprinkler system, lawn care, etc.). One of the workers needed to go into the garage to access the sprinkler control system. I was out of town, but my family at home asked the workers if we needed to move my car out of the garage to avoid any issues. The workers told us it wasn't necessary. Fast forward over a week later. I'm back in town, and I find three feet of scratches along the entire right side of my car. Many of the scratches were permanent. To make matters worse, this is a limited edition vehicle (though frankly, this is obviously 100% unacceptable regardless of the car's value). Even worse, I had to discover the damage myself because no one informed me about what had happened. We spoke to Martin, and he said one of his workers probably walked too close to the car with keys or something around their belt, causing the scratches as they walked by. Extremely reckless. I'm being serious when I say they almost had to be deliberately negligent for this to occur. There was very little space between my car and the garage wall. I honestly have no idea what they were thinking. Martin then tried to have me take my car to body shops he recommended, asking me to drive over 40 minutes each way to a shop he picked out. I told him no way... you damaged my car, so I get to choose who works on it. I consulted several local shops, and all of them confirmed the scratches were permanent and that a full paint job would be required. Repainting just the two body panels was possible, but the paint wouldn't match (tri-coat red paint, difficult to match), and I wasn't interested in repainting the car for any amount of money. Martin then tells me he has someone he trusts who can come to my house to work on the car and avoid a repaint (impossible, but I figured I'd give this guy a shot so Martin could see for himself that the damage could not be fixed). Well, what do you know... this guy no-shows twice without any notice. I came back to town for the sole purpose of meeting his guy to attempt the repair. After his first no-show, I verbally communicated to him that I was frustrated from the first no-show and to make sure he could come this time around, and he still couldn't show up. Lovely. In the end, I sold the car for a similar replacement because the scratches were beyond repair, and I refused to have it repainted. This solution cost me multiple thousands of dollars ($15,700, to be exact). It was still cheaper than getting a repaint, as quotes for repainting were between $12k-$15k, plus another ~$10k in depreciation. There were only around 300 of these cars produced, and it took me 8 months to find an appropriate replacement. We still owed Reveles Roofing just under $3k for the project at the end, which we kept (He had the audacity to ask us to pay that balance). As it stands today, Reveles Roofing has caused me to lose over $12k of MY money in this situation. I am generally a calm, level-headed person who doesn't get upset easily, but this situation left me angry beyond words. Of course, the car damage was a huge part of that, as it had sentimental value to me, but the way this situation was handled is unbelievable. You would think I am making this up. I strongly urge you to do your research, as there are hundreds of excellent contractors in Dallas. I urge you to avoid Reveles Roofing at all costs. You want to hire someone who does good work on your home and treats your personal property with respect, and unfortunately, Reveles Roofing cannot do that.
