Great place however... Went there a couple days ago and they did not have any apples at all? Go figure.

They have really good apples and produce and everything is fresh. They have the best donuts I have ever had and their cinnamon rolls are top notch. Pro tip- heat up the cinnamon roll in the microwave for 45 seconds. Love this place and always support local places like this! read more

Love this little orchard. Well it's probably not little at all but I only go in the stores. They have a small one near Fredricktown. It's very small. You can't get all the things you can at the bigger one in Mansfield. But it's worth the trip anyway. The apple donuts are AMAZING. I think you can get those at the small one, or at least you used to could have so call before going to make sure. And from what I remember you have to go early. Anyway at either one never ran across someone who wasn't nice. I live an hour, hour and a half from Mansfield so whenever we go there we stop and get apple donuts and other things. Nice apple orchard with lots to offer. We actually drive there from Dayton, Ohio to get their fresh apple doughnuts and a gallon of fresh apple cider. They also have many apple varieties to choose from as well as a little shop to find lots of other goodies. read more

Love this place. Cannot be more local than this!! Their cider is the best honestly, their fresh apple donuts is very, really really yummy and is an excellent backup plan for not having Krispy Kream in the area lol! During picking season, lot of varieties, they also have a few more fruits to pick. Lot of fresh farm items for sale as well, including meats, cheeses, beers, pickles... Super cute spot . Many apples to select from. You can sample everything at the store. Honey crisp apple was recommended to me and I love it! I had so much fun picking the apples of the tree. The apple cider was refreshing. The staff is amazing especially the girl that works at the front counter. She was sweet and patient. I also bought apple donuts and apple walnut bread to try tomorrow morning. Can't wait!! read more

Incredibly rude ownership. We arrived for photos with a wedding party and the owner was immediately rude and dismissive. The bride had called THREE TIMES to confirm that wedding photography would be okay on this day- a year ahead, a month ahead, and the week of. Every single time, she was told yes! Apparently this never was communicated to the owner, who demanded a $25 fee or we had to leave. She blamed the bride for the communication issue and was so inappropriately rude to her on her special day. The bride was nothing but apologetic and sweet, yet was chewed out. Afterwards, the owner told a bridesmaid "I'm sorry if this was unpleasant for you, but it was unpleasant for us as well." Note- the owner didn't have to do anything! If this is any indication of how the business is run, I'd be hesitant to become a customer and would instead take my business elsewhere. read more

They are an apple orchard, not a bakery, making apple pastries. Should we expect them to be good? The apple donuts we had the first time we were here on Fritter Friday were good. By the way, they did not have fritters that day. Lame. The donuts we had the second time were pretty bad; they tasted of old fryer oil. Gotta change out the oil more regularly guys. The caramel apple loaf was pretty bland. Where was the caramel? The loaf in general was very unsweet and lacked flavor. Low and behold, there were a few select fritters this non-Friday! Perhaps leftovers from the day before? Even so, they were pretty tasty; better than the old oil donuts. In addition to apple picking, they have reasonably priced squash. read more

What a neat place for the surrounding communities! We like to take our Sunday drives and get their apple Donuts. If you never had them I highly recommend them! They have a very neat little shop with various items and wonderful produce and delicious apple cider. read more

My Wife and 7 other moms took 9 girls out to Apple Hill Orchards to pick apples. They were told where to pick and were having a great time until Barb the owner came out and was very rude, throwing a fit on where they were picking apples. Instead of showing them where she wanted them to pick she just continued with her fit. The 9 girls were ages 5-7. Not sure I would call this a good family place If the owner has that much of an issue with little girls picking apples. My recommendation is to find a different location. I know there are other places to pick that are lower priced and more family friendly. read more

Fresh apples of 5+ varieties and local treats for purchase, what a fall treat! Local candles, soaps, cobbler mixes, cheese, jams, jellies, fruit butters, etc adorn the shelves, baskets, and barrels. Various squash, gourds, and pumpkins ready for your taking. Bags of apples or, for the adventurous, apple picking treks are available, however, this cautious lady chose her own. Many varieties tempted my eye! Came back later with Mom for more fun. Ohhh, locally-made Apple Donuts will greet your nose as soon as your car door opens! read more

We had so much fun at Apple Hill! So many apples to choose from. The little market they have was so charming and adorable! We purchased quite a few items from the market and were so happy with all of them! The Apple Donuts are amazing- you have to get some! The cider is amazing as well. They have a sample station for the cider which was nice, but there were knats everywhere. I know that's probably inevitable but it kind of steered me away from the sample station and I just purchased a prepackaged jug of cider. read more

This past Sunday we went apple picking for my birthday. We had it all planned out until the hurricane warning ruined everything. Point..we have an orcahrd 20mins away and this one (the only one open on that Sun) is over an hour away. Determined to go apple picking we drove the hour and 15mins to the orcahrd. It ended up being in a smal, lvery rusticly beautiful family farm set up in rural Ohio. (although Ive been corrected out here that what I consider rural is in fact the subburbs...) They had a ton of apple trees across the street (very few cars & a tiny little hill) and also in the back of their little shop. You can either pick them yourself right off the trees, pick them from inside the store, or grab a pre-packed bag off the counters. In season right now are the gala's, gindergolden, cortland, and honeycrisp. Besides apples they also sold peppers, onions, pumpkins, acorn squash, jellies & jams, apple cidar (best Ive ever had..seriously!), apple cidar vinegar, and other odds and ends like fresh cake mix, cheese, and a deli counter. Being that it's an hour away Im not sure if I'd go back too soon. I'd probably go to a closer orchard. I did, however, love how family orientated they were (their teenage daughter even ran the cash register & was very helpful with apple picking) I just wish they were closer to home so we could go more often. Also, I did notice their steady flow of customers who came. Their tiny parking lot was always filled and there was always a few of us in their orchards picking apples; mostly mom's with their little kids picking apples for that week. I did only give them 4 stars and here's why. Family focused, no crap, fresh & local foods, home grown produce, and fair prices. I really liked their pepper prices ($1 for 3 orange peppers) but one of the peppers had mold inside it. The 2nd had good flavor but a bit soft. I grow veggies myself and it seems the harvest this year just wasnt ideal...not bad, just not perfect. it happens to all of us. I didnt get any peppers this year, so I was excited to see they had some I could get. I noticed this issue also with their apple archard. The apples werent as crisp & juicy as Ive had in past years. Again, not their fault, (at all!) but the weathers. 4 stars still, dispite their over priceing for their apples & cidar. Normally I wouldnt even consider buying a gallon of cidar at close to $7, but it was my birthday and I wanted some. (Take that stupid economy!) So I treated myself to wonderfully fresh, sweat, absolutly worth $7/gallon cidar and I was in heaven all the way home. I still have some actually....for at least the next 5 mins until I finish this review and go finish it off..... So my advice?....go! Stop looking over Yelp reviews and just go. Their worth an hour drive from the city. & go now before everything is gone. Bad weather = small harvest = not as much to sell. The tree's are almost bare and it's not even October yet (there will be more since some types arent ready yet), theres only a few pumpkins left too (maybe theyre get more?). The reason I'm taking the time to Yelp about them is that gardener's stick together. I like to believe we all have an innate quality about us that wants fellow gardeners to do well too; esp in such a bad season...thus the countless facebook groups, the youtubers who all ban together & trade seeds, and this farm is close to my heart now. So I may not go back all the time since theyre far away but I wish them nothing but the best & for lots of hungry customers to stumble upon them just like I did. They deserve it! read more

I am not one to be negative or share negative experiences, especially about a place that I've been going to with my family for years. It's a fall tradition to go and pick out some apples and pumpkins from this orchard to take home for apple pies and funny faces. That being said, I got married last weekend in Bellville, OH and knew that this orchard would be a beautiful place to take pictures. I've called three times over the last year to check and see if this was a place that we could come and take pictures at. The first call was about a year ago. I spoke with a woman who said, "oh absolutely! We get that all the time! You might have to pay a fee, but just have someone pop in and let us know you're here- you should be all set!" The second time was about six months ago and again, I was told absolutely, be prepared to pay a small fee, but just let us know you're here. The final call was placed on Wednesday before the wedding, on the 18th to make sure it was still okay. Again, I was told to come on up and have someone in the party let the front office know we were there. My photographer even drove up from Columbus that Wednesday to scope out the orchard and ensure our attendance was permitted. Again, all was a go for Saturday. I arrived at the orchard with my wedding party and photographers. I got off the bus first with my two sisters and brother and was greeted by the owner, Barbara Zaugg Joudrey. She came running up and asked us what on earth we thought we were doing. I said, "I'm sorry and I gave her my name, saying I called about us coming up to take pictures here and we were told it was 'okay'." She said, "It absolutely is not okay. Who did you speak with?? A manager? The owner?" I said, "No ma'am, I spoke with whoever answered the phones." She then said, "Well you should have asked to speak with the owner. This is not okay." My sister then cut in, saying, "We apologize but we thought the staff would be informed of the policies." To that, my sister got a short "uh-huh." I told her I'd called three times over the last year and she said, "This is our busiest time of the year." I said, "Of course, your orchard is gorgeous..." but was cut off with a hand snapped up to my face and a "No, I don't need that. I don't need to hear that right now." She stormed around the corner to be greeted by my photographer. I'm not sure what magic my incredible photographer pulled, but we were given the "okay" to take photos after paying a $25 fee. We were permitted to take the photos and I know they will be gorgeous because the orchard has truly breath-taking views, but unfortunately, that wasn't the end of it. One of my bridesmaids used the bathroom before we left and ran into the owner, who said, "I'm sorry if I made this an unpleasant experience for you, but you did the same for us." Never before have I ever had such a nasty and negative experience with someone. I'm not pulling the, "She was nasty to me on my wedding day" card, because that wasn't the problem. The problem was that she was incredibly rude and there was no reason for it. If it is against the policy for wedding parties to take photos, that's fine and we have no problem with that. All she had to do was say, "I'm sorry, my employees were misinformed. We do not allow wedding parties to take photos here." I don't even need a friendly smile! That's all that needed to be said and we would have gotten on the bus and been on our way. Not only was she nasty to me, she was nasty to my sister as well as my bridesmaid, for no reason at all. We did not get nasty, we were not rude, and we did not mistreat the orchard in any way, shape or form. Mrs. Zaugg Joudrey and her orchard may not need our business. Anyone who knows the orchard knows they are very busy this time of year. But myself, my family, and any acquaintances we have will no longer be stepping foot on her orchard because of how terribly we were treated. This orchard has always been one of fun family memories. Sadly, that won't be the last memory we have. read more

We are a large group that went to Apple Hill Orchard on October 13, 2018 and paid with a prepaid Bill Highway card. On November 4, 2018 they billed our card $378. We reported this as an unauthorized payment. We have contacted their sales associate, Ann, many times. We gave her all the information she asked for including the card number. She said she would get back to us and never has. They stopped returning our phone calls. BEWARE read more

I don't know where to start. I was in My cousin's wedding and she called three different times over the course of a year to confirm being able to take bridal party pictures at this orchard, each time she received a "YES!" From whichever employee she spoke with. Upon our arrival we were greeted with the owner who made it clear we were NOT welcome, and no matter how polite we were she said, "I don't want to hear it," and asked us to pay her $25 or leave. Thanks to our photographer, we were able to stay on the premises. For the life of me I cannot understand why it was an issue for us to take pictures in their beautiful orchard, I mean who doesn't want free publicity? And who would chew a bride out on their wedding day? And she chose to then approach one of the bridesmaids to reiterate, "i'm sorry if I made this an unpleasant experience for you, but you guys did the same for us," .... how? By arriving? I'm so disgusted. This is a public orchard in a small town, not an appropriate way to do business. read more
