Now it is a pretty large seasonal flower & produce stand outside with fresh meats, cheeses, and baked goods inside. They also have a small grocery store inside with essentials. We were so glad to have made time to stop here on our trip from Columbus to Wooster. The produce we…read morepurchased made a great complement to the meats, candies, and cheeses we picked up elsewhere (northeastern Ohioans may be able to guess where). All the produce was BEAUTIFUL and, as later determined, very, very tasty. We also liked the little informational signs telling us key facts about each item -- not only price but also harvesting season, common uses, and so on. They also had a small selection of raw meat, eggs, and dairy, and some jellies, candies, and things like that. A most impressive spread. I have to say I felt a little like we were interrupting the cashiers' gossip session as we checked out, which is never a good feeling even when it's true (as this place is kind of off the beaten path and isn't Bauman Orchards' main storefront), but they were friendly once we had their attention. I'd like to come back sometime later in the fall and pick my own apples! I'm sure it's busier then, and the orchards we drove through to get to/from the road were well-tended and appealingly fruited.

The chef even gave us a taste of his gumbo which he was selling the next day. The bowl was amazing. Everything was fresh and cooked well. I was really surprised by the size of the piece of fish which was perch as normally perch is not so large. We were joined by a group of family and friends and everyone enjoyed the food from the mac & cheese to the jerk chicken to the fried fish bowl and falafel. If I'm ever back in town, I will definitely stop by. Well, in the shop, I did a little bit of shopping as well and picked up a very cute leaf pottery. I love how it natural it looks, but then it will also match the other leaf pieces I already have. The store has a wide a food on the shelf or in the fridge section plus really pretty crochet, pottery, jewelry, and other items. The store has something for everyone. Finally, we enjoyed the coffee shop which had really delicious lemonades and a number of people in our party also had coffee drink drinks. When back in Wooster this summer for my niece's graduation, I'll be sure to stop in especially if it's a Friday or Saturday for Big D's Soul BQ.

Lots of choices and options for every type of gardener! The farmer market part with fruits and veggies was ok. It's small. Local products. You can find something if you need it but it was not very extensive. The makers market was 6 tables. Not very big but it's early in the season. Not much I was really interested in. They also had a food truck which was very popular. All in all we spent a good hour or more there, buying plants and walking around. It was very enjoyable. We will go back. The plants are amazing. Staff was great! Nice and answered all our questions. The parking was good too. And again fair price for the plants. Good find!
