This Apple store was huge with wonderful displays of products on the wall. All iPads, iPhones, Macs and watches were displayed on the table. All devices were powered on and available for testing/trying. The also had a huge presentation area. I saw a group getting training on how to use the iPhone. There were lots of customers in the store and equally well staffed Apple geniuses. One genius came and told me taking photos are not allowed in the store, even though there's no sign for it at the entrance or inside the store, and there are plenty photos that others have posted including Apple themselves !!!! read more

Purchased an Apple Watch Series 3 in December 2020. 2.5 years later after purchase, the adhesive of the display unglued on its own due to a manufacturing defect. This Apple Watch has never been inside water/shower. It unglued while I was walking, in the middle of screen. I approached Kevin, the store manager, and Kevin has refused to replace this product or offer store credit. I'm very disappointed in the quality of this Apple product. I should add that, My wife is recovering from the effects of cancer chemotherapy and we r both a little slow. When I arrived for tech assistance, the first guy admitted that he couldn't do anything because he didn't know. He pointed to another colleague but I had to play the guessing game to figure out which colleague he's referring to. When I finally found someone who could fix my issue, he had a nonchalance attitude and clicked a few things before walking away. Like, it was a weekday evening and the store wasn't particularly busy. It wouldn't cost him anything to stick around for a few mins to ensure that my problem was fully resolved. Last week I brought in an old iPhone 6S and old iPad that I no longer used to trade in. Someone was able to help me quickly after I checked in with a staff member. She checked and scanned a few things with the phone and then gave me a gift card. There was a sticker on the home button of the iPad that she couldn't get off and therefore couldn't give me a gift card for it. We managed to get that sticker off at home and took back the iPad to the store today. After checking in we were told to wait for someone to come help us out. There was a staff member, Steven, at the next table cleaning off iPads that noticed us standing there and asked if we required assistance. We told him we were waiting to trade in our iPad and he offered to help us instead of having us continue to wait. He also checked a few things, made sure the iPad had been reset and then got us a gift card. They take old electronics to recycle responsibly. read more

I rushed over here after my phone broke and after speaking with apple tech support over the phone. Tech support believed if I arrived at this location immediately, they would be able to get me seen by a Genius Bar representative before the store closed. I arrived at the store 2 and a half hours before closing and they would not see me. The employees told me there was an overflow of people with my exact same problem and they would be unable to assist me. I explained to the manager that I took the 407 to get here and it was very challenging because I usually use my phone to navigate and at this point in time my phone wouldn't even turn on. It was giving me the apple screen of death. I asked if I was to stay in the store and someone did not show up, could I please have that appointment. The manager said no. This store did absolutely nothing for me. I ended up going to Yorkdale for the appointment I booked over the phone the day before and they swapped out my phone immediately after running some tests, which I begged the man at this store to do. This store also did not answer their phone for a full hour when myself and the over-the-phone technician tried to call them. No. I would not return to this location. They were not helpful or understanding in any way shape or form. read more

Here we go again. I have an android phone (all screen already...) and iPhone. I wanted to try the all screen iPhone X. I got an offer I couldn't resist on my current iPhone. Walked in. Look at the X and waited to see if I can find someone. 15mins later and getting hot under the collar (from the wait and the fact that I have a jacket on - it is cold out you know), I went to see an Apple Helper. OMG - I broke the Golden Rule at Apple...I walked past the Orchard Keeper - the one that supposedly greets and directs your sorry ass to where you think you need to go. I went back to the Orchard Keeper and asked what I have to do to get the iPhone X. She corrects me and says, "we will be happy to assist you in purchasing our iPhone TEN." Seems that you can't say "X", same treatment when you say OS"X", it's really OS"TEN" - duh!!! She advises me that I need to give her my details so that an Apple Picker can help me with my produce purchase. It will only be a 20min wait. WTF...really? This is getting ridiculous, I'm here to drop 2-Large (not be be confused with dropping a Large #2....:). After my vocal displeasure, another Orchard Keeper took my details and for some reason, in less than 10 mins, a phone was delivered to a Apple Check-out-er. And a little light in the wallet...I scrambled out of there. Just yesterday, I was speaking to the CEO of a massive furniture company and he's about had it with the customer abuse that Apple seems to have allowed their retail staff to practice. Any other company that treats their customers as the Apple-nauts do, they would be bankrupt. He asked me to figure out how to de-fruit his life. Maybe I should work on it. I'm good with the hardware, I good with the longevity that their product allows me to own it - I'm using a 2012 MBPr - if it was a Dell or HP notebook, I'd be on my third one already. Came by to pick up some accessories. When I arrived at the Apple store, this place is packed!!! Yet the store is clean and brightly lit. Everything is so well organized. My focus of this review is on the staff and their professional attitude. Despite the enormous amount of people in their store, they carry their attitudes with eagerness and a pleasure to help people. Ever walk by an Apple store and actually go in? Not unless I need a new phone or accessory, it's pricey to even browse! I decided to check out the Apple approved portable chargers for my phone, and wireless charging stations. I find all locations are busy, so it took a while to find someone to help me. The chargers come in different colors and sizes with one option of an attached lightning cable. The "Mophie" brand ranges from $89.95 - $109.95. The charging station is $79.95. Other brands do a good job as well, so I'm on the fence ... I find it's best to come during the weekdays, or early morning on weekends. read more

I went to the Apple store at Eaton Centre today with a problem concerning my hard drive in my 2012 Macbook Pro. I opened up my laptop to just a grey screen with a folder and a question mark. When I went in to see if any of my data from my hard drive could be recovered (as I have an exam tomorrow and all my notes were on it), I was greeted by a specialist who did a diagnostic on my laptop. He told me that my hard drive was completely damaged and it would be impossible to recover any of my info from the past 4 years. While I was sobbing, he continued to try to convince me to replace my hard drive with them which would cost around $300 with taxes. Not only that, but they said it would take 3-4 days to fix. Well, I just had my father with minimal tech experience open up my laptop and recover my entire hard drive in the span of 4 hours, when I just had one of the Genius Bar specialists tell me that there was nothing that could be done and all of my data was lost forever. I am not only mad that he caused me so much stress for nothing, but he essentially just tried to scam me for $300 over an easily-fixed problem. I really thought I would be able to trust the Apple store with my Apple products but apparently not. read more

Customer Service Sucks Apple is known for their overpriced items, but it's "okay" because you're supposed to be paying for the instore experience. My experience today was nothing to be proud about. To start, I purchased one thing..a charging cable for my phone. Not only did they take 20 minutes to check me out, they took another 10 minutes getting a bag for my purchase (I already have 3 bags I am carrying, and I'm wearing a cast on my right arm). Every purchase should come with a bag, whether Or not the customer had asked for it. Period. Slight common sense. I want to blame the "Geniuses" that monitor the front store, but I say it's the store's Manager who's very poor at organizing and Not vigilant enough to their store's needs. Terrible, terrible. If this is what I get for spending hundreds of dollars in your stores, it's time to cancel Apple. Also, before you tell me "you're just having a bad day." No, I expect high quality service everytime for high quality products. I've worked over 8 years in the customer relations industry.. I understand that there could be some bumps and imperfections specially in retail..And I attempted asking a different store clerk for a bag and I was met with the same response. Here's a suggestion: Stop focusing on how quickly your store can get to each one of your customers (there's enough staff there for that). Focus on making sure the customer you're currently with has everything they need before you start with the next customer. Keep your bags at the front store so you don't have to keep going to the back to get ONE piece of bag. There's enough space in your store for that too. And lastly, make sure you take into account every person's need because regardless of however my day was going, it's not High Quality to make someone wait for 30 minutes to purchase one tiny charger. To add to my previous review, Apple, if you had a face I would make out with it. I went in today for my appointment with the geniuses and I got the usual wonderful service and prompt responses. Last time they went above and beyond with recommendations and service, this time the apple care blew me away. I have a retina apple MacBook. It is a thing of beauty. But, after a year and a half of travelling and working online, it has seen better days. The fan labours, the screen has dead pixels, the track pad sticks, and the battery/keyboard have seen better days. I really just wanted the track pad fixed. But damn! I'm getting a new screen, keyboard, battery, trackpad and case. Basically the entire exterior of the laptop will be new and sexy. Don't say no apple, let's just make out already. Kiss me. read more

WARNING TO ALL: 1) Your Iphone may be damaged while in their possession for Battery Swap 2) They will not take responsibility for damage they cause Brought my Iphone 6S Plus in for battery swap because noticed the battery would drain more quickly compared to when new. This is a known problem that Apple has admitted. Other then this issue my phone is 100% perfect working order, with zero problems. The job requires 2 hours to perform, so left phone with them and went on my way. Upon returning to pick up my 6S Plus was told they did not perform the battery change because according to them "all the water sensors inside the phone are tripped and the unit is full of water". This is news to me as my phone has never been put in water and functions beautifully. I am not pleased to say the least, however I take my Iphone back assuming its still in the same condition as when i handed it to them. I was wrong. The phones front and rear camera, along with the flash/torchlight no longer function. They claim its from water damage that broke the camera even though it worked perfectly fine prior to them working on it. (I had taken multiple pictures with the camera just 2 days earlier) The camera ceased functioning during the time it was in their possession for service. I don't buy their flimsy excuses, claiming water damage to weasel their way out of any wrong doing is sleazy. They will take no responsibility or ownership for damaging my Iphone. Only solution offered is buy a new replacement phone! Don't let this happen to you. Think long and hard before getting Battery swap at Apple. Was in here to purchase an accessory item for my iphone. I found my item and was ready to check out. Usually, I'd just go line up at the check out line....OH WAIT, Apple doesn't have that. You need to find a staff member for them to physically scan and process the sale. Waited around 10 minutes for a staff member only to be pushed to another staff. The second staff did not even look at me and decided ignoring my existence can delay my desire to checkout. However, to his dismay, I asked when would he be able to help me. Without even turning his head in my direction, he said "Not right now." Courageously, I followed-up with a second question "Do you know how long that will be?". My purchase of I phone 13 Pro Max from Markville Mall apple store can only have the best of compliments and words of gratitude! By working in retail business myself I know what it takes to make a customer happy!  Mss. Tresa Lam made a world of the difference for me and my wife yesterday! Only a few days ago we were in Fairview mall store ready to spend $2300 but were discouraged by their sells rep and their Manager! Their reasoning was that due to CAVID-19 protocols they have only limited time and wouldn't answer all of our questions with regard to new product. The first thing I always notice about the Apple store in ANY location in the smell. It's a curious thing, akin to a unique distillate of unwashed socks, long nights spent gaming on couches of dubious origin, and the faint tinge of over-caffeinated nervous sweat. It's the scent of geek with a complimentary dash of the unwashed masses. I'm sure it's secretly included in the "bottom notes" of most CK and DKNY fragrances. Does this make me an elitist snob? Probably to some degree, but I assure you - it's merely a thin veneer disguising my utter nerdliness that runs deep to the core. After all, who better to identify the very (fragrant) essence of high-tech consumerness than a shadowy insider? Okay, so on to the goods. Apple stores bring out certain qualities I'd prefer to pretend I don't have. Like standing really close to people at the iPad or Iphone table and sending evil laser-beam stares into their backs, hoping they will sense my oh-so-threatening presence and step aside so I can get my paws on the latest toy. PLAY!!!!!!!! This review does not reflect the Apple brand as much as the actual service and experience in the store. This review is actually a good example of how certain products make me cross over the line of civilized decorum into something else entirely. Must. Regain. Control. On a side note, the staff can be hit and miss. I'd be tempted to critique the sometimes-terrible service except that I noticed most of the staff are set upon by maniacally merciless customers. There's many reasons people buy Apple products. First, they're well made, look cool and work as advertised. Secondly, they're supported by a network of some of the finest retail stores and employees around. I'll quickly relate my experience at this particular store: My sister's Macbook got hung up on a software update one evening - she needed it for a presentation at school the next day. She made a Genius Bar appointment online for the same night - just before the store was scheduled to close. (The Genius Bar is the live customer support area in each store - you make an appointment in store or online and the Geniuses will help you out with whatever ails your Apple product.) We went in at the appointed time and were greeted with a smile by a dedicated greeter. Then, greeted again by an attentive random employee halfway through the store. And then, greeted again at the Genius Bar by a happy-to-be-there Apple Genius. Within exactly 15 seconds of asking logical, intelligent questions, the Genius identified the problem with my sister's laptop, pulled out a dedicated hard drive from behind the counter, connected it and began the fix process. Within exactly 20 minutes, my sister's computer was back up and running. Not bad, right? I'd like to see any other PC manufacturer do nearly as well. Ain't gonna happen, folks. THEN things got even better. I'd brought my Macbook Pro, whose battery wasn't lasting as long as it should, a year and a half after buying it. The Genius checked to see whether my laptop was in warranty or under AppleCare (their extended warranty) - and even though batteries are not technically covered under warranty, she went over to the shelf and gave me a brand-new battery at no charge, rightly recognizing that an ecstatic customer likely to buy from them again was worth the 80 bucks the battery probably cost Apple. I left the store in tears of joy and with a big, dumb smile on my face, as if I'd won the lottery. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE BUY APPLE PRODUCTS. This is my go to Apple Store when I have issues with my Apple products. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. On two separate occasions, I had to bring my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro for issues (trackpad & battery). I asked them, if there is any possible to way to have the repair done same day at the store. I was driving nearly two hours each way as I living away from the city. They looked at their schedule, and found time relatively close to my initial genius bar appointment to accommodate my repair. One occasion, I made a genius bar appointment, and the other time it was a walk-in (earliest online appointment was a few days away which didn't work with my schedule). This location is smaller compared to Yorkdale, and Square One, it gets crowded inside. Best bet is to come on a weekday if you are looking for a drop-in appointment. If buying products, be sure the check online for inventory location, or pre purchase your order online before you arrive. As with all Apple stores, purchasing products is a breeze through your Apple Store app. It's a quick and efficient process to go in and get out. Make sure your app is setup prior to leaving home. read more

I have visited this APPLE store several times and finally I am writing about my experience. I have been to this APPLE store a handful of times and every time I have a very positive experience. The service is a true 5 out of 5. They always acknowledged me and its always feels welcoming and not pushy. The staff are very observant and know when you help or when you need to browse. The first time I was there I was there to buy a gift certificate. It was easy! Easy where it only involved an swipe on the Ipad and a swipe of my debit card and I was out. Gift card in hand and receipt emailed. The second time I went to inquire about the battery replacement program for my specific Iphone model. The staff diagnosed my phone right on the spot and arranged an appointment for the next day. I go in the next day they retrieved my info and got my phone fixed up in one hour. It was easy, organized and expertise service. I am a happy Apple user. read more

I brought in my Apple MacBook for a keyboard repair and when I got it home my Bluetooth adapter wasn't working. I took it back to Apple and they said I would have to pay $1000 for a new system board. I went on Youtube to figure out how to take off the back cover and figure out where the cables were that connected the Bluetooth antenna to the system board and noticed that the cable was disconnected. The bluetooth system board connector is really small so I took a picture of it and zoomed in to see that the connector was messed up and that's why the cable was not connected. The cable no longer fit around the messed up connector. It's evident that the Apple tech messed it up since I've never had any reason to take my MacBook apart. They (Apple) say that my Bluetooth has nothing to do with the top case/keyboard replacement but it actually does. When the horrible Apple technicians can't plug the cable properly in to the system board and instead of taking responsibility and telling me that I need to pay $1000 it's a joke. I am pissed because my appointment was at 7.10pm and the "genius" didn't get to me until 7.35pm. I don't like crowded places and waiting surrounded by people with an iPad in one hand and a Mac book in another seems kinda nightmareish... Anyway, all I had to do was exchange by headphones and it took him a looong time to find a pair. Then when he did, it turned out they weren't the ones I can use for talky talky. Another 40 min later I was done. 40 minutes!!!!!!!!! BUT I do like this Apple Store better than the one at Eaton Center - it's less crowded and the staff are nicer. When my phone broke they did everything super fast and efficient, and didn't even bother trying to fix it, just gave me a new one. I'm ok with that! Plus the dude who served me was super cute :) Obviously if you want apple products, you would probably go here because people can actually show you how to use them.
