None of them felt right, they all smelled like dirty diapers, and I was worried I would have to send my son to a daycare that I didn't like. The last daycare I stopped by that afternoon was Kidz Academy. All it took was walking in to the building (a cute little home on 200 W), to immediately fall in love with the place. I knew it would be a good place to send my son. Talking to the director, Isabelle, only sealed the deal. It just felt right. Since that day, all four of my children have attended Kidz Academy preschool and daycare (both locations). I have not worried once about my children while they were in their care . The employees at Kidz Academy have always provided a fun, safe place for my kids to go with teachers who are kind and caring. Kidz Academy is owned and operated by an amazing family who has been in the daycare industry for over 20 years. They are caring, well trained, and all around incredible people. Kidz Academy has been a home away from home for my children. I highly recommend this place above any other in the valley.

With that huge gorgeous garden, the healthy meals (delicious and home-cooked!), the big library, the wonderful preschool curriculum and even more wonderful teachers - well, we consider ourselves so lucky to have found it. The staff there is genuinely loving and skilled, and even after our older girl moved into kindergarten, she considers Little Rascals a home, and the teachers all family. She and her younger brother are very different, but each found in Little Rascals a comfortable place to play, explore, try out new things, read, eat well, have fun, and get great at being with other kids. (They've also learned how to clean up their toys incredibly quickly! Thanks for that!) Shelley and her team are professional, kind, generous, understanding of the challenges we working parents can have, and thoughtful above all. Even after our girl moved up to kindergarten, they saved a spot for her next to her younger brother at the yearly Christmas party - making sure Santa knew to bring her a gift too. Now our younger son is starting kindergarten soon, and I simply can't believe the time is coming when we won't see Little Rascals every day. We owe everything to them, and will always be so grateful to them for loving our kids as much as we do!!

My 2 1/2 year old son has been having some behavioral problems the last couple of months, which included hitting, biting, and scratching the teachers ( part of his terrible twos phase) and he also doesn't nap anymore since he sleeps 7pm-7am. And apparently that's a big problem for them ( at least that's how they made it seem) Well at the beginning of December the director Jennifer asked me if I have talked to my sons pediatrician to see if there was anything "neurologically wrong with him" her exact words, because he was going through these phases. By the way she decided to say this to me in front of two other parents dropping of their children as well, I find this completely unprofessional and disrespectful of her. I reported her to management and they said that they would have a talk with her and even still after speaking with her, Jennifer didn't have the decency to apologize to me about what she said and how she said it. This isn't a bad review about the daycare itself like I said I loved the daycare. My only issue was with Jennifer and how she went about everything wasn't professional at all.

The polices at this daycare are exactly what we were looking for. Namely, the teachers are not allowed to use their cellphones during the day (which was not the case for our prior daycare). The facility is clean. My child feels comfortable and safe here. Finally, they will let you use re-usable diapers, which is another thing we were looking for (and our prior daycare did not allow for). I cannot recommend Kidz Academy enough.

**UNSAFE FOR KIDS AND UNETHICAL ADMINISTRATION** We enrolled…read moreour young son in Tender Touch because they offered an affordable after school option and we needed someone who could pick him up from school every day. One day, I received a phone call late in the afternoon from my dad saying that my son was not picked up from school and walked appx. 2 miles from school to their house ALONE. I immediately called Tender Touch to find out what happened, and they seemed to have NO IDEA that my son was even missing for the day. Not only did they fail to pick up my son and ensure his safety, but they did not call me and failed to even realize that he was missing. When they finally acknowledged that he wasn't there with them, they put the blame on my 6 year old for not being at the pickup point. I acknowledged with them that he should have been at the check in point, however, they failed to recognize or notify me as his parent that he was missing at all. As a parent, I was rightfully upset and worried about my son's safety. I asked for reassurance that there was going to be a process in place after this incident that would prevent it from happening again, and simply reassurance that I could trust them to ensure my son's safety every day. Instead, what I got from the staff was retaliation. They were very noticeably upset that I was holding them accountable to keeping my son safe and taking care of him as I was paying for, and so instead of working with me on this reassurance they raised my prices without notice and begin treating my family very differently. While I used to be greeted with a smile and a warm hello every day when I picked up my son, it immediately changed to the cold shoulder approach. As if this wasn't enough, they increased the pricing for days that school was out of session without notifying me. I then received late fees of $50 when I didn't realize that there was a balance left unpaid as a result of the price increase. The explanation I was given was "that they were helping me out with cost before, but now they didn't see a reason to do that". On another occasion, me and two other moms witnessed child abuse from one of the other parents picking up their kid in the parking lot of this facility. We immediately reported it to Tender Touch management, but were given the response that "they were probably just having a bad day", and they would "talk to the parent". I believe they have a legal obligation to ensure that reports of abuse, especially in their parking lot, should be reported in an ethical and legal manner. They never did report it, so we ended up reporting it out of worry for that child's safety. Lastly, due to all of the problems and the feeling of unsafety for my child, we took him out of Tender Touch and moved him to a new facility for after school care. To our knowledge, we were paid in full at that time, but there were charges that we didn't realize were tacked on and unresolved. The Tender Touch management team did not send us a bill, and to our knowledge everything was paid in full. A few months later, rather than receiving a letter, bill or other notification from Tender Touch, we received a collections notice instead, as well as hefty collections fees and late fees. I believe a legitimate business should send a bill or some notification of an unpaid balance, but Tender Touch management didn't follow that process. It seems they were pretty dedicated to putting us in our place for demanding that our kids be taken care appropriately and this was their way of making a statement. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, and believe they should be held accountable for their lack of safety procedures.

There was one little hiccup with the billing, but they were quick to notify me about it and were happy with me resolving the issue at my convenience. My son loves the huge outdoor area that provides all sorts of entertainment from tricycles to things to climb or swing on. He also comes home talking about all the stuff he did that day or all the stuff he learned. I've never had him come home whining about having a bad experience here (unless he was misbehaving). When there is an incident, they make sure to create a physical note for the parents that describe what happened - great for when your kids don't want to tell you exactly how they got that giant scrape on their knee.
