Do not come here. This office had much better quality of service and care in the past but within the past couple of years it's dwindled to non-existent. The level of incompetence throughout the staff is ridiculous. I had braces taken off a year ago and since have been consistent with my retainer. I needed a crown and explained to the dr my apprehension regarding getting a new one. I mentioned that I was worried it would not be exact and/or could change my bite. He said there was nothing to worry about. The day of, the dental assistant left me with a nub of a temporary crown because I asked her to fix it since I needed my retainer to fit. She didn't care to discuss it with me and gave me attitude when I asked her to fix it. When I got my crown I was numbed so I couldn't tell how well it fit. My bite felt off but the doctor said it was fine. I went to my orthodontist who said the crown was too low and needed to be replaced but they reached out to the dentist on my behalf. Annoyingly so, I had to follow up with the dentist because the office manager never reached out, admitted she received the email, requested I get it sent again due to her own negligence and still explain what was wrong. She made me wait an additional week because she needed to check with the dr. After getting the crown re-evaluated the dentist said there was nothing wrong with the crown, my teeth moved and therefore the front tooth needed to be shaved. Shaving my tooth would absolutely affect the dental work I had already paid 6k for, so there was no way. If you want detailed work done right, competent staff who is willing to provide a good experience and ensure that you leave happy, do not come here. I feel bad for anyone getting any major dental work done here because you'll probably end up having to get it fixed somewhere else. read more

Very questionable business practices lacking professional etiquette from the front office staff. They do not answer the phone if you dial in as an existing patient and have yet to return my voicemails. It seems like they are afraid to pick up phones and revert to texting your chart info (literally violating HIPPA). I let them know at my last visit I would call if I wanted to schedule any further appointments (to be entirely honest I'm already searching for a new dental office based off my first two appointment interactions with the front staff who quoted me very different bills various times at just two appointments) and after today and not hearing from a single person in their front office they have lost me as a patient. This morning I received text messages to confirm an appointment I did not request, I replied requesting a "Phone call" rather than "confirm" and instead received a rescheduling text, and after still requesting a cancellation of the appointment they scheduled, was told I would LOSE my teeth if I didn't keep my appt, OVER TEXT MESSAGES. Very scary and pretty sure this violates HIPPA. At this point it seems they're after my insurance coverage and not necessarily looking out for me as a patient. Beware! read more

If you want a dentist who pays attention to details and, at the same time, someone you can see hanging out with after office hours, this is the place for you. Dr. Moung (sp?), the original owner, is THE sweetest, most soft-spoken, and kind professional I've EVER met! He was my dentist almost six years ago, until he semi-retired. Afterward, every time I was in the office, he stopped to say hello and check in on me. So special! Dr. Ruiz is amazing! He's only satisfied with perfection in his work, has a gentle touch, and is constantly checking on the patient. Even the staff say they prefer Dr. Ruiz to give them the novocaine shot! The dental staff is incredible as well. They show personal interest in each patient, remembering details from one visit to the next. The office staff handle everything with a smile and provide superior customer service, especially dealing with and explaining the insurance details. As most medical offices experience, when some patients are late, it often backs up others (I've been guilty a few times). That said, I'm usually there longer than expected for services so I plan accordingly. I wish my husband's dental network included them because I'd still go there. This was my closest dentist so I thought I would give it a try. First off, I got spammed about a dozen texts asking me to fill forms that I already completed on the first one and reminding me of the appointment. Showed up on time, and waited over an hour before I got moved from the waiting area into a dental chair. There I waited another 20 minutes before I could see the dentist. After a routine xray and, the dentist told me I needed to schedule another appointment to get a filling. No acknowledgement of the long wait, seems like 1h+ wait is the routine over there. The entire reception staff needs to be retrained on proper phone calls, taking appointments, dealing with health insurance and patient care. Unfortunately this is the office where my insurance sent me. Had I known I would have such a horrible experience, I would have challenged being serviced here. First, they gave me an appointment for a day that they're closed. Luckily, someone called me back to reschedule. Then, she calls me the day of my appointment to tell me that my insurance is inactive, which was inaccurate. I've worked in healthcare for many years and to do an insurance verification on the day of an appointment is just not protocol. Staff Harasses you with non-stop texts. Seriously I've never gotten so many texts from a doctors office. Despite weeks of texts no one bothered to tell me there would be no hygienist on the day of my appt..... even though I was assured I could have my new patient exam and cleaning on same day. At the appointment the dentist is rude and bossy telling me I can't get a cleaning because I had one 4 months ago....(I paid cash for that cleaning so still have 2 available to me through insurance) He tells me i need to replace a crown that's still perfectly intact just because "it might break". Arguing with me about it while poking at a hole in my tooth over and over even after I told him it hurt. I would never let this man touch me again. The services are okay, and the staff are nice, but their communication is very poor. They cancel appointments right before they are scheduled without giving a reason and don't pay attention to patient history. I went in for a deep cleaning that had been delayed due to their scheduling problems only to be told they couldn't do the service because I hadn't been in for a while, and they needed to treat me as a "new" patient. I understand they have rules they need to follow regarding insurance, etc., but I wish someone had let me know this, especially since I had to schedule this appointment twice and ended up wasting a lot of time. read more

I have been going to this office for years and not a lot has changed. Waiting time is never long (on a busy day 15 min max). Everyone is very nice and helpful. The doctors are great. Appointments are typically a month out but I have been seen on a emergency request. The building/office is older but it's comfortable. read more

I called this dentist about tooth pain I was experiencing. Because they were backed up, I couldn't see a dentist for two weeks. When I finally got in, they took x-rays and scheduled me to come back two weeks later for the procedures. When I returned, they performed a deep clean on the WRONG SIDE and said that because of their error they couldn't address the toothache until they deep-cleaned the correct side. I went back nearly a month later and was told by the billing person that they could deep-clean the correct side *or* fix the toothache, but didn't have time to do both (although my appointment was to do both). She told me "the dentist is too busy". So nearly three months after my original appointment and I still had the toothache. Avoid this dentist. I could probably go to dental school, graduate, and fix my own teeth by the time this dentist would get around to it. read more

Totally awful!!! AVOID this rathole. Lobby is small, crowded and has a ghetto feel. The equipment is old, Xrays are not even digital. The exam room I was put in was a tiny dark box with no light and I faced the blank wall and couldn´t even see the technician or dentist, having to peer over my shoulder. They told me matter-of-factly I needed TWO root canals! Yuck, before I´d agree to that (or having them do the work) I wanted a second opinion and searched for another nearby dentist. Pristine Dental was also on my Insurance plan and boy oh boy, am I glad I followed my instincts and switched. The were fabulous, clean and modern equipment too. And I´ve been going there for several years now and NO ROOT CANALS. They said I just needed a cavity repaired and rolled their eyes when I described Apple´s service and recommendation. I thought I knew this place but after 4-5 visits for extensive work, I WALKED OUT during my last appointment. Yep, took the bib off with the Dr. sitting there, dumbfounded, and walked right the f**k out. I went in on a Saturday, promptly at 12:00 pm for my appointment. When I got there, even though I'd been there several times, I was asked, TWICE, if this was my first time. NOTE they also told me that the cavities to be filled today were both on the right side. That was totally wrong as I will explain later. Then, I sat there and waited to be called in for an entire hour. They finally called me back and after waiting another 10 minutes, I asked when I was going to be seen. I was told 15 MORE minutes. I told her this was unacceptable because it's already been over an hour. The dental assistant asked if it was just 5 more minutes, would I wait? I said sure. She then explains that I can only have one filling done because the two cavities are on two sides of my mouth, which is the exact opposite of what the girls up front told me. Ok, I thought, no biggie, they're receptionists, not dentists or assistants. No biggie. Out comes the Dr. two minutes later from the break area. Motherf**ker was eating his lunch while I was waiting. An HOUR AND 10 MINUTES ALREADY. So, they messed up a root canal, according to the endodontist THEY referred me to. She said that there should be no pain after a root canal and that it wasn't done correctly. So now I have to get ANOTHER crown lengthening to see if they can even fix it. If not, it has to be PULLED. Yep they messed my tooth up so bad it might have to be pulled. If it doesn't get pulled then I have to have a SECOND root canal. WTF? So this doctor is the FOURTH completely different dentist touching my mouth. I have never seen him in my life nor he I. I ask him about all this and he looks at me like a deer in headlights. He didn't even have the courtesy to read my chart while he was making me wait for him to eat his lunch. THAT'S when I said. "You know what, I think I'm done here. It's time for me and my precious teeth to find a good dentist. That is most definitely not you or anyone else here." And off I went into the Saturday sunshine, free to enjoy my Saturday with no pain, no numbness and a resolve to find someone that actually cares about me. read more

I dunno, maybe I'm just being overly picky, but I don't want just anyone poking around on my meat/veggie grinders. Rob M stated the chairside manners vary greatly. I sure hope so. Let me start by stating I am not a 'cry baby' when it comes to dental work, having pleasure of having braces twice in High School... I got fillings done 2 years ago at Apple on my bottom molars and will have the two upper front replaced with ivory because one of the many inexperienced dentists there did not know how to do a filling. The next instanced happened in the last week: I needed to get one of my bottom wisdom teeth removed ( and since I had one removed several years prior with 4 shots of Novocaine, I knew what to expect. The dentist who worked on me was suppose to be the gentile one, what a load of crap. First, I am one of those people who don't like it when health professional talk to you about your health like you have an IQ in the 60th percentile. So, after 4 shots of Novocaine, and I shot drilled INTO THE INFECTED, PARTIALLY decayed and 25% percent impacted tooth a 5th shot of Novocaine. Now, I am a grown woman but this was the second worst pain I have ever felt in my life when he did that, but hey they wanted this tooth out. He had trouble putting on the 'cow' puller * or whatever it was called because he didn't push the tooth enough, and could still feel pain in the tooth itself. Since from the beginning he knew it was infected why go ahead and pull a infected wisdom tooth??? Ego and my dental insurance deductible. I finally ended this ordeal with now a lose, infected, partially decayed and still 25% impacted tooth armed with referrals to Oral Surgeons. As I was leaving, I heard the dentist and some of the nurses talking about 'HIS horrifying ordeal laughing on...WTF?! No worries though...read on. Happy Ending: Went to Pearlmax at Lewis, off Washington and had all my remaining wisdom teeth removed, with a doc and staff that was informative, answered all my questions and 3 days later I am practically healed : ) The "wisdom" that I gained from this experience, if ANY provider is not willing to explain your situation (IE.: what they are going to do in the procedure; a game plan of sorts) RUN. If you are in the middle of anything and you sense that 'OMG this person has no idea what they are doing...RUN and don't look back. read more

I'll have to give this place 3 stars because it's just average. I've been here a few times and the wait is a little longer than most places but not too bad. The prices are affordable. Before coming here I had checked out another place and they were trying to charge an arm and a leg and when I came here I actually got some of the services for free because apparently it was covered under my insurance; something the last dental office failed to mention. I'll be brief. Never had an issue. They gave me a filling for free. I always get seen within 10 minutes of arriving and the dentists/receptionists seem to remember me. I did forget to get a referral to an orthopedic surgeon, but I'm too lazy to call and get it. Since my wisdom teeth are impacted, THEY told me I should go to a specialist and get put to sleep. If you decide to have an impacted molar worked on with only general anesthetic, that's your bad, not theirs. Have common sense and know when to ask about referrals to affordable specialists that they work with- PROBLEM SOLVED! Only gave 4 stars because it is a little impersonal, and I've had someone from the next room watching t.v. with me while getting my teeth cleaned, kind of weird. read more

I have been going to Apple Dental for about 5 years, meaning I have been there all of 7 times. I started going there because it is close to work, they take my insurance, and they have evening and weekend hours. I have been meaning to change dentists ever since, but I am just too lazy to find somewhere else to go. This is a bare bones type of operation-- no comfy waiting room, and no private offices. You sit in plastic chairs next to your neighbor, you have no magazines to read, and then, when you are called in, you sit in sort of a cubicle while getting your teeth serviced. The positive part, is that they are relatively prompt, so I don't have to spend too long in that waiting room. Also, I have health teeth that have remained healthy during the past five years. Also, most of the time, I have seen the same dentist there who seems to remember me and always comes to the waiting room to smile and say hello. This time, however, he came to say hello, and after I was called back, I was given another dentist......I think I need to get over my laziness and find a new dentist! read more

If you want to waste your time and money, come here. When I arrived I told the receptionist I needed to have a filling replaced on my tooth because it had fallen off when drinking ice water. Fillings expand and contract with temperature changes and over time they will fall off on their own. The receptionist said she would fit me in if I would wait so I said OK. She then charged me $50 dollars and asked me to sit down. They called me to the back and the dental assistant said that she was going to take some X-rays. I told her that I just needed to have the filling placed on the tooth and be on my way but she insisted. The dentist came out to reviewed the X-ray and said that I might have a cavity. I told him that I have no symptoms that I have a cavity and that I was there simply to replace the filling. He then said that he will have to schedule an appointment to do the filling. I then said that I know that the filling takes 10 minutes and that was the reason for the visit. "Thank you for taking the time to do this but I just came in for a filling. " he then said that he will have the receptionist come to speak with me. When she came she said that the filling was going to $130. I told her that she didn't tell me that to begin with and instead charged me $50 to diagnose me with what I had already diagnosed myself with, a filling replacement. She should have just told me it was $130 to fill the tooth to begin with. Instead of telling consumers what the price is going to be, they charge the consumer money to look for other services that are not needed like, "you have a cavity." They then tell the customer what the price is going to be after the $50 visit. read more

This was the first time I went with a dentist through an HMO instead of paying out of pocket....compared to the cleanings I previously got through my private pay dentist, this would not even be considered a cleaning....someone basically brushed my teeth.....nothing else was done. During my last visit to get a broken tooth sorted out, the assistant was busy watching some talk show while she was supposed to be working on me. She got so mad at the TV that she wrote everything down in my chart wrong -- not a good sign. So far, this place is not the nightmare the reviews make it out to be. Yes, the waiting room is dated. The service is a little slow, I waited 30 minutes to check out but, in their defense they are kind, they just need a bit more help answering the phone and checking people out. My dentists, Dr. Ruiz was very kind and knowledgeable. Explained everything in detail and asked if I had any questions. The dental exam with x-rays was probably the most thorough I've ever had. I had made an appt. at Apple then was planning on canceling it after reading the terrible reviews on Yelp - the office is only 2 blocks away from my apartment which was what attracted me to going there in the first place - my son's friend came over and said it was a great dental office so I decided to give it a try - initially I was frustrated due to waiting a long time for my appt. but they've done excellent work and at a very reasonable rate - so far I've gotten a crown and a few fillings done - I've been quite pleased with their work ...if you want to see the same dentist every time go somewhere else but I'm fine w/different practitioners and I think they've done excellent and affordable work read more
