It's fun to go to the farm and it is nicely organized. The fruit that we could pick was either mostly rotten or overly picked over. The produce and pumpkins are clearly labeled and were at the right stage for picking. Plan to spend A Lot of money for the experience. About an hour and a half drive East of Tucson, Apple Annie's is a decent little farm to visit if you make a day trip and visit some winery's or other local interest in the area. They have a corn maze ($10/person), fresh picked or pick your own produce options, hayrides, pick your own sunflowers and pumpkins, and a little store at one part of their farm. Then several miles away they have an apple orchard that you can pick your own apples. They also have a gift shop, and another little market store with more baked goods. It is a good time if you have children or looking to get out of town for a couple of hours. read more

We wanted to avoid the crowds so we went during the middle of the week... but what we didn't know is that meant we got the "no frills" version. No extras were open. Since we went right after a huge storm everything was muddy so we didn't even go to the corn maze or to the pumpkin patch, we just walked around the store, which was cute and they have so much produce!! I would say if you have older kids like 5-10 going on the weekend would be a blast! They provide wagons for the pumpkins. And they even have a thing where they will roast whatever produce you pick or buy so you can eat it there! read more

What an extremely major disappointment it was to drive 195 miles only to find the produce was at exaggerated tourist trap prices! Much better-looking produce can be purchased at a much better prices at a grocery store! Apple Annies sells a three-pound jar of honey for $24.99, and a five-pound jar priced at $17.97 can be purchased at a big box store. Apple Annies is asking $25.00 for a large pumpkin and at a similar venue it was $7.00 for a similar size pumpkin! A big box store sells a similar size pumpkin for $3.97 which means that Annies is charging $21.03 more than the big box store which is a massive price difference! The only fruit I saw on the trees was beyond my 8-foot reach. Biting flies were everywhere because of the rotting fruit on the ground. The corn field maze is expensive at $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for kids! A picnic table was messy. Approximate price of a donut at a donut shop is about $1.00 compared to their price of $2.50 for a donut. I vehemently do not recommend Apple Annies due to the astonishing high prices this place charges for their products! read more

My partner and I usually stop at Apple Annie's produce stand after we've been to the orchard. If we've driven two hours, we might as well make both stops. The orchard is only a few miles further from I-10, and there is plenty of signage. If you are making the trip for vegetables and are traveling any distance, call the hotline first to see what they have. Since we stop by when we've already been to the orchard, we have not picked our own produce here or come for the pumpkin patch. We try to park near the tree line at the produce stand (so the fruit doesn't cook before we get it home) and buy produce that is already picked. The already picked vegetables typically are higher priced than what is in the grocery store. That said, the baker's dozen of sweet corn (not available for u-pick) is fresh and deliciously sweet. If you arrive close to lunch time, you also can get some perfectly roasted ears of sweet corn buttered or not with a selection of seasonings. Yum! read more

This is our first time here and I was fully expecting just precut pumpkins in dirt. The land was beautiful, beautiful mountain background. I was excited about the Sweet Corn Extraveganza and looking forward to an event. My other half and I drove 90 minutes to get to this farm , which was pretty easy to find. Turning into the drive I have to say i was underwhelmed but hopeful. There was a sign that read "Hay Rides" but alas there weren't any. A few families were there and some wandered into the fields close by but few came out with any produce. The produce stands were not full nor was there a large variety. My guy walked over to the wall that held apple butters but he didn't select any. Needless to say I was not going home without sweet corn so I bought a half dozen and one roasted corn on the cob. The roasted corn was good but they use a crock pot with margarine that customers can use and there is a butter brush that's not disinfected, be cautious. For anybody looking to go to Apple Annie's for produce. Be fore warned! We checked the website for the previous calendar for pickling cucumbers. We also called their recorded daily number for what they had in stock and they said they had pickling cucumbers. So we jump in the truck and do the hour and 40 minutes down there. Walk into the produce stands. And it was wall to wall empty bins. We went into the refrigerated produce area not a pickling cucumber in sight. Went out to the one person that was there and asked when they're going to restock. She said" I don't know"! And went back to looking at her phone. We went out to the Self pick sections. And the pickling cuke section was picked through. What a waste of the day. 4 hours of driving. $45 in gas. Very disappointed in them. Especially when you call in the morning and it goes directly to voicemail and a voicemail says it's full. So you called The daily number that they have an updated daily and it shows that they have the product in stock. Really Apple Annie's you can do better than that! Anybody know where else I can get pickling cucumbers? read more

Disappointing customer service. I was waiting for my chile order to get roasted. The clerk said they would let me know when my chiles were ready, so I went to wait on the bench next to wheelbarrows. After half an hour, I went to check on my chiles, they no longer had the ones I asked for. I had asked for 4 bags of hot and 4 bags of medium; They only had 1 bag of hot left. The clerk then berated me for not asking about the status of my order earlier, saying it was my fault they no longer had the ones I originally asked for. If it had been busy I could understand the confusion, however it was a slow day. During my wait, I was often the only customer in the store area. As a returning customer, I don't want to recommend the Apple Annie's produce & pumpkins location to my friends. read more

We were on the search for some pumpkin and had heard from friends that Apple Annie's was the perfect place to go. This review is for both the orchard and the pumpkin patch. The locations are about 3miles away from each other. The pumpkin patch offers hayrides, kettle corn popcorn, a corn maze and the ability to pick your own veggies. The orchard offers you the ability to pick your own fruits, a bakery and gift shop. Apple Annie's is a great place for groups, especially families. Tip- One of the best parts of this location is that they sell cider donuts. The cider donuts are fantastic! read more

We stopped to rest and had a little picnic after visiting the orchard and purchasing a lot of produce and delicacies. After doing so we were approached by an employee of Apple Annie's that yelled at us. When we asked why he was so upset he proceeded to tell us he is giving us 2 seconds to get off of the property before he calls the Sheriff. At that point we picked up our things, didnt leave a mess, threw our trash away, and just left very upset. We come here every year and enjoy our time there but I will never be coming here again. read more

We have been coming to apple Annie's for over 8 years and this year An apple Annie's worker was very rude and prejudice toward my family and I when we were having a picnic. Their website said pumpkins and produce September and October open daily 9 to 5. Drove all the way to Willcox from another town in AZ to find out that they don't have any pumpkins yet. When I asked one of the workers there where their cutters were for the pumpkins she told me they don't have them out yet because they don't have pumpkins yet. I told her that their website said September and October and did not say anything about not having them ready yet. She responded back very rudely and said they have not advertised the pumpkins yet. I guess she doesn't know what her own website says then. So we decided to at least get some produce while we were there and try to make the best out of our trip, but their produce was in bad shape. Most of it was rotten and spoiled. Not a good experience to say the least. read more

It was a nice warm day and we ventured through the corn maze, a little tricky but we did it, then headed to the hayride to ride along the fields with a nice breeze & sun. We found 4 perfect pumpkins that were reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and it was an amazing morning. Going to Apple Annie's in the fall is my yearly ritual. No fall is complete without a trip to Wilcox! This year we stopped by "THE THING" on the way and paid our $1 dues for a truly "sensational" experience (by the way, totally worth "it" = $1). When we got to the apple orchard in the late fall, most of the apple trees were already robbed of apples, so we went to the very edge of the apple orchard for some less bruised apples. BUT, you don't just go there for a bucket of granny smith apples. You go there for the whole fall package: homemade apple pie with a scoop of ice cream, apple cider, apple butter, and the fun! The pumpkin patch is close to the apple orchard, where you can get lost in a corn maze, hop onto a hay ride, sample the caramel kettle corn, and buy some plump pumpkins for carving. Maybe I love this place because I grew up in Cochise County and the highlight of my year was when Apple Annie's opened to sell glorious corn, peaches, apples and burgers. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't love it, too. Between the fact that Willcox runs 20 degrees cooler (on average) than the heat pit of Phoenix and that they have the best pumpkins & hay ride festivities in the state, driving 7 hours RT from Phoenix is completely worth it. Should you go in early-mid summer, prepare yourself for the BEST sweet corn in the state, with roasted sweet corn that will knock your socks (or sandals) right off your feet. Their tomatoes, squash, and green beans are incredible. And if you like fruit pie, I can't think of a better place to buy several pounds of Gala, Pink Lady or Granny Smith apples to throw a delicious pie together with. And PEACHES. Their peaches are the best I've ever had, really truly. This year Willcox sadly had a late frost that ruined their peach harvest, but next year I look forward to the greatest peaches I've had in my 26 year short life. If you get hungry, their orchard location has a delicious burger barn, and they even serve pancakes and waffles on the weekends! Don't forget to check out their pies, fudge, apple and peach cider, and their various jars of pickles, jams and spreads. You won't regret it. Just make sure your bank account is fat, because even though the prices are so reasonable, you'll want to buy 20 of everything! read more

Let's face it: southern Arizona's lack of four seasons (especially fall) sometimes makes it difficult to feel inspired around the holidays. A trip to Apple Annie's provides a great little escape for those yearning for some seasonal change and looking for some family farming fun. Nothing like tromping through a pumpkin patch or trying to find your way through a corn maze to help get you in the holiday spirit! Apple Annie's is two separate farms: one is a U-pick orchard, and the other is dedicated to veggies and flowers. We've gone several times during apple season, but this past summer we went to pick peaches. Wow - the peaches were incredible! It was towards the end of peach season, so we were all feeling a sense of urgency riding the tractor out to the orchards. My daughter asked, "What if they don't have any peaches left?" No worries there. Within minutes, each of us had completely filled our 5 gallon buckets with ripe, luscious peaches. It was so quick and easy, we almost felt ripped off - like we should have had to work for it more! We were told it was okay to sample the merchandise "in moderation," so we each dug into a peach while waiting to catch the hay ride back. Amazing! If there is a downside, it's that we picked way more than we could possibly eat in a couple of days, and they were so ripe they weren't going to keep long. But the time spent preparing them for our freezer paid off - they made the absolute best peach pies and jam which we enjoyed for months. They grow a number of U-pick veggies, and everything we've brought home has been delicious. Tomatoes, sweet corn, okra, eggplant, various types of squash, peppers, cucumbers, the list goes on. They have fields of sunflowers in the fall, and of course the annual pumpkin patch. The kids always enjoy searching through the patch for "the best" pumpkin, and afterwards grabbing an ear of roasted corn and some roasted chilies to go. We were thrilled that both the orchard and the veggie farm started serving food (like hot dogs, burgers, ranch beans, etc.) - simple stuff, but if you've ever been to Willcox, you're well aware of how dismal the restaurant selection is, so this was a welcome addition. They also have fresh pie with homemade and fudge, and it's always delicious. You aren't going to save money by driving out to Apple Annie's for your produce - from Tucson, it's over an hour away, and the prices often run higher than the supermarket. But the quality is fantastic, it tastes terrific, and I think there's value in knowing where your food comes from and the work that goes into producing it. My kids can correctly identify all kinds of vegetables that most of their friends can't, and I can attest to the fact that they are much more willing to eat "scary" stuff (like brussel sprouts!) when they have had a hand in picking it. So don't go because it's a bargain. Go because it's entertaining, educational, good for you, and you'll walk away with some delicious food and fun memories. read more

Perfect place for fall family fun! We made the drive down from Tucson to get out pumpkins for Halloween, etc. It is a bit of a drive, but that is part of the fun! We went on Friday early afternoon, so it really was not crowded at all, but I imagine it gets quite busy on the weekends. They have a great market area with lots of pumpkins, squash, and lots of other freshly picked veggies, etc, available--but we wanted to pick our own pumpkins so we headed out to the pumpkin patch. We stopped by the corn maze on the way out there and went through the toughest maze--which was super fun and unique. It is QUITE dusty there, and I was still in my work clothes--so I would re-think that for next year! They also had hay rides available but we did not participate. The pumpkin patch itself is quite dusty as well, but there were lots of good pumpkins there in all different sizes/shapes--and all five of us left there quite happy with our selection! I am not sure how much they usually charge--but the cashier who checked us out only charged us $5 for each pumpkin, and each of them was about basketball sized--so that was cheaper than it would have been at the supermarket. Of course we ended up buying their apple bread (which is the best!!) and their apple pie (which looked awesome but was not so great), as well as some habanero salsa, squash, etc. The journey is the fun part--so go with your family or significant other and enjoy the scenery and the novelty of the place! read more

We bought green beans & corn at the vegetable location. Prices are on the expensive side whether you pick or they pick. Their vegetables are very fresh & tasty. This was my first time coming out here to pick pumpkins after having been to Marana's Pumpkin Patch and Buckelew Farm. I liked the simplicity of this pumpkin patch and all of the produce choices. We didn't have to pay a fee to get in, which was great and there were plenty of wagons and vine cutters to use. You could walk to the pumpkins and as you go you can see all of the peppers and tomatoes they grow as well. There is also a field of sunflowers you can pick as well; one for a dollar, 6 for $5. My daughter loved picking the sunflowers and seeing all of the ladybugs out and about. We found some really good, decently sized pumpkins and the prices for them were very reasonable for what we got. I couldn't remember the exact price for each, but we paid $29 for 2 big pumpkins, 3 little white ones and 3 stalks of sunflowers. We also picked up some salsa and honey sticks too. We had lunch there as well, we tried the grilling stand that was there. They had brisket sandwiches, chicken tenders, and loaded fries. Everything looked good, but the brisket was very stringy, tough and dry. The chicken tenders tasted like your basic frozen tenders deep fried. The fries were good. It was $21 for our meals. Not worth it and I would pass on that part. Everything else was great. read more

My family had a great morning at the apple orchard and the wonderful staff there. Then we went to the pumpkins and produce area which was nice until we checked out. The young man, Mel charged me one price $5.00 a zucchini which my daughter really wanted and after I paid another employee walked by and said they were only $2.00 a piece. I asked Mel to double check the price because it made me uncomfortable that the two employees were unsure of the price. He pulled out a book and then sat it on the counter after opening it he turned back to me and said I will check after I help the customers in line, that had filed in behind us. 10 minutes and 4 customers later I asked if he would please check. He told me he would after helping some more people. After another 10 minutes of making my family wait. I told him of my dissapointment and told him i couldnt make my family wait any longer, but that he needed to double check the price before he sells any zucchini to another customer. I felt very put off and under appreciated. Poor customer sevice. read more

There are three places to Apple Annie's. The produce market, the orchard and the country store where the restaurant is located. And each one is approximately 6 miles away from the other. This is not well indicated on what signs there are. We first went to the produce market. Everything was overpriced. We wanted to purchase pre-picked vegetables and fruits. One had to walk into a tiny refrigerator and there were few veggies there which were highly overpriced. I didn't care to pay the high prices to find out if these veggies and fruit made the high prices worth it. $8 for a watermelon?? We asked where the restaurant was and found out that it is 6 miles back by the Holiday Inn. No signage, by the way. Again, everything in the store was overpriced. We laughed when we saw popcorn, cheese and butter for sale from Millersburg, Ohio where we used to shop before we moved to Arizona. Again, the prices were double what we would have paid in Ohio. Lunch was awful. I ordered a turkey panini. It was supposed to come with fresh fruit or a bag of chips. I ordered the fresh fruit and was told that they were out of fruit. An ORCHARD out of fruit? The girl at the order counter said that they don't carry the fruit because it attracts bugs. So I got the chips. It was also supposed to come with a skewer of pickled veggies and a pickle spear. Instead, I got one 2 inch pickled piece of okra! The sandwich itself had flavorless apple slices on it. I also ordered a piece of apple pie. Worst apple pie I have ever eaten (McDonald's hot apple pie is better, if that gives you an idea). There was no apple or cinnamon flavor! How can that be? The pie had a taste like iced tea! The crust was like cardboard. The orchard itself is another 6 miles away from the country store and the produce market. This place is not worth the gasoline and time I spent getting there. read more

Visited yesterday and had 30 minutes of fun until the owner shouting and yelling at some customers with foul language in front of our two young children and other children. We want to educate our children to appreciate fruits and vegetable and how they are grown but the owner made it a really bad experience for us. We will go to the other places instead. read more

We drove up from Tucson to go pick our pumpkins for Halloween and as we drove up to the pumpkin patch, we turned left into what we thought was the entrance, as soon as we started driving down the driveway, a man in a truck stopped us and was extremely rude and told us that this was the exit. There were no signs stating where the entrance and exits were.Then said "it was his farm" and as my husband was attempting to turn our vehicle, he basically refused to back his truck up so we could turn around. If he had just been polite and said "hey guys, this is the exit and the entrance is the next left" we would have been happy to do that. Instead, we left and he has now lost money, as we had planned to buy a few large pumpkins. If this is the way he runs his business, he can be sure that we will never be back and we will tell any of our friends who may be thinking of getting pumpkins there, not to go. I want to give this review zero stars, but it is making me do at least one. But be sure that I'm giving them zero stars. The pumpkins looked like crap anyways. read more
