I find a lot of coffee places just don't really want you stay and they have hard, uncomfy furniture to reflect that. But not here! This place often has events that extend its opening hours, too. My favourite is the 'big comfy folk club' which are folk and acoustic sessions hosted on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Next one is on 4th March and tickets are only a fiver! Brilliant intimate venue, and the performers usually stick around for a while afterwards which is nice (: OH ALSO, WINE! The big comfy book shop serves alcohol! The owner spent over a year compiling books to open his shop, and ever since has kept a good variety of books that are unique to customers, or a popular search result of a used book. There is always fresh coffee, tea options, beer and wine, and some sort of snacks like crisps or cake for sale. Seating is available to hang out with friends for a little while or to start tucking into your future purchase. Also I noticed that live folk music nights and game nights regularly occur here too! I'm always impressed that he knows exactly what my daughter wants every time she goes in even though it's not very often she visits with me - it's scrambled eggs on toast every time for her here, she loves them because they are so buttery and creamy. I usually visit with my three daughters and we'll all have a sandwich (apart from the baby who has toast) and this costs under £10 including a drink each, which I'm sure you'll agree is a very good price for a lovely filling sarnie in this cold weather. The interior isn't that of a Michelin starred restaurant of course, it's formica and plastic all the way in The Teapot but I don't care about this because at the end of the day it's a cafe for a quick snack and not the sort of place I'd bring the love of my life for a special meal!

Breakfast Review:…read more Its a wonderful venue - but its not open on a Monday (as I found out to my cost, when I cycled there on a Monday!). Its Packington farm, where the fields are full of the free range pigs, where the incredible sausages come from. The bacon is pretty good too. You eat in a modern cafe on the farm that has the cafe at one end and the farm shop at the other. Be warned the farm shop will take all the money from your wallet - there is some incredible produce to buy. Breakfast was good but small for the price (£7.25). It has to be with sausages that are probably the best I have eaten. Bacon was pretty impressive too. The only things that left this breakfast down, was meager amount served up and the toast. At a farm shop, I expect really good bread and that bread to make really good toast. What we got here was supermarket sliced break. I think they have really let themselves down. Had they got the toast right and slapped another sausage and slice of bacon on it, could have been a contender for one of the Midlands best. One final thing: they don't serve baked beans with the breakfast. Weird?
