Long term review here. I took my 2018 GT350 to Mike for a full Xpel wrap and window tint about 6 months after I bought it. That was about 2 years ago this month. Him and his crew did a fantastic job. Their attention to detail is unbelievable. The wrap still looks as good as the day it was put on. The car was at the dealership for quite awhile before I purchased it. As a result, there was a lot of swirl marks, marring and scratches from how they washed it and wiped it down in the showroom. The stripes on the car are vinyl decals and were already scratched pretty good and showing age. The Appearance Solution team was able to polish up the stripes prior to applying the Xpel film. You can't tell they are stickers now and they seriously look like they are painted on the car. Honestly, the day I picked up my car from Appearance Solutions, I was blown away with how much better it looked than the day I bought it from the dealer. Highly recommended, they'll treat your car as if it were their own. read more

I had my Tesla Model X covered with XPEL Ultimate Plus, for an unbeatable price, and he added full-car paint correction and a one-way ride home as well in that price. Great place to get your tint done and ppf. Did an awesome job with my tesla model Y. I would definitely go back again. Thanks to the owner Mike read more

Very responsive to questions and requests for information. What appealed to me first was that Mike did not keep "bidding" for my business like many of the other vendors did. This gave me a more secure feeing about the integrity of his company and services. His ceramic coating process was at the very high end of the estimates I sought, and certainly I would have liked a lower price. But he provided a very thorough description of what would be included, and it conformed to the best practices I had learned about in the extensive research I had done beforehand. When I arrived for my appointment I was very impressed with the way he managed his staff, their professionalism, and that Mike was using a checklist for activities and quality control (the proven military way!). Further, the vehicles he had in progress looked fabulous, so I was comfortable leaving my new toy with him. The results were every bit as rewarding as I had hoped. The vehicle looked even better than it had on the showroom floor, and the added tinting I requested just improved the look. A week into driving the car, the very few flecks that have had the nerve to fall on my prized car have been very easily removed. I have high hopes and considerable confidence that the coming years of driving will justify what initially seemed like a prohibitively significant investment. read more

Just received my Tesla Model 3 in December and I was looking for some top quality work. I am glad I chose Appearance Solutions to care for my car. They applied XPEL ultimate plus Paint protection film, XPEL prime XR ceramic tint on all windows including the rear window in one piece which I am very happy with, and a full ceramic coating on the car. They were able to touch up a prior rock chip I already had and I am very happy with the work they have done. I received the car clean and ready to go. Mike was very responsive, and easy to work with and I appreciate that! Thank you for everything Appearance Solutions. read more

There is nothing but good things to say about my experience at Appearance Solutions. I been wanting to get tints for me 2021 Tesla Model 3 for a while but I have always been putting it off. When I came across Appearance Solution and called to get a quote from Mike I set the appointment right away. Mike was able to get me an appointment quickly and answered all the questions that I had. Upon arrival I was greeted by his super friendly team. They made sure I didn't have any questions and even helped we out with the the tint shades by showing me examples. By the time they were done with my car I was still in class and they were closing so they stored my car in their shop over night and even charged it for me! Once I picked it up, I was beyond amazed. Every thing was perfect!! If I ever had any questions they would help me with the best of their ability. Any problems I had they helped me with them. I would 100% come back for all my future cars! I took my 2019 Mercedes E 300 straight to Mike and his crew after it came off the truck at the dealership. While waiting for the car to be delivered from Germany, I researched several businesses to install the clear bra, tint the windows and ceramic coat my car. I narrowed it down to 3 places. After reading almost all the reviews on yelp from all 3 places I was considering, I decided that Appearance Solutions was for me. Before I took my car there, I had about a 45 minute conversation with Mike on the phone about the entire process ( no one else would talk with me that long when I called). He was very patient and explained everything in great detail. More than that, he truly wanted me to feel comfortable with the results and also, leaving my car in his hands during the process. Mike and his crew washed, clay disked and machine polished my car. They used XPEL Ultimate Plus Paint Protection (clear bra) from the back doors forward and also protected the thresholds of the doors, rear wheel impact area and trunk luggage area. Then, they used XPEL Prime XR ceramic window tint on all windows. After that, they used Opti-Coat Ceramic Coating on my car to give it the added protection and high gloss that it needed. WHEN I PICKED MY CAR UP, I WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME! I looked over every inch of the car. THE FINISH WAS FLAWLESS! In my opinion, everything was done to PERFECTION ! I am extremely picky and I complain about everything that is not perfect. I believe, if I pay top dollar, I should receive top notch service. Although I didn't pay the most expensive price I could find, I certainly received TOP NOTCH SERVICE. I'm an old school guy. I wash all my cars 1 to 2 times a week. I wipe them down with Adams Waterless Wash. I wash, clay, polish then wax every 6 months. I have never had a car ceramic coated or clear bra'd so I have a lot of questions on how to care for my car. Mike always takes the time to respond to all the dumb questions I have whenever I text or call him. IMAGINE THAT! AFTER THE DEAL IS DONE, HE STILL ANSWERS ALL MY FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS! I will take all my cars to him from now on. It's nice not having to worry about how the job is going to turn out or if your car is safe in the hands of the place doing the work. Throughout the time I was researching different places, I learned that XPEL Clear Bra material is difficult to work with. That's why a lot of places don't use it. I also learned that it's one of the best products on the market. Not only is the service great at Appearance Solutions, the material they use is some of the best around. Even if it is harder to work with. I will see you guys with my 997 turbo, as soon as I find it, to get the entire car clear bra'd and windows tinted!!! read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Mike and Appearance Solutions. I took my Tesla Model 3 there last spring to get all of the windows tinted. The job was done quickly and it looked great! Then a few months ago I noticed a couple of mysterious spots on the driver and passenger window so I got a hold of Mike. At the time I had no idea how this happened. With no questions asked he replaced those two window tints. I later figured out this was my fault from having Christmas Rudolf Antlers in my windows. D'oh!!What great customer service! These guys are awesome! I'm definitely a life-long customer. read more

Mike at Appearance goes above and beyond for his customers. I am as anal as they come and might have asked him close to a million questions before dropping of my 2010 GT3. He answered all questions and encouraged me to ask whatever I needed to be comfortable. First got my brand new 2014 F150 ppf wrapped with Expel at Appearance Solutions 8 years ago. I commute about 5-10 times a month to the Bay Area and wanted to protect the front end from rock chips. The expel paint protection film has held up so well! It still looks clear, has not peeled at all and the parts of the truck that I did not wrap have much worse scratching in the paint from taking it hunting and driving through brush. Made me wish I wrapped more than just the front end! Had such a good experience with Michael and the Expel product the first time, that I took my new 2022 Tesla Model 3 with Pearl White Paint to have the front end, rocker panels and bumper wrapped. Once again the service was excellent! Michael runs a super tight shop. They wrapped all the edges they could. They did pro work, stayed on schedule (took a week) and the end product turned out amazing! Keep up the good work Appearance Solutions and I will be back with my next new car purchase! read more

I accidentally scratched the hell out of the side of my car due to some outstretched branches. The scratches were not light scratches, they honestly looked pretty bad which had me worried since my car model is known to have mediocre factory paint jobs. After a quick Yelp search I found Appearance... local, amazing reviews, and from thumbing through the pictures they are no strangers to expensive cars. Mike took a look... wasn't sure if he could get it all out but said they'd give it a try. After a couple hours, bam, completely buffed out, exterior is immaculate, car is as good as new. I was overwhelmingly impressed from Mike and his team, they run a professional and honest business (which you really can't take for granted) and I will absolutely be using them again in the future for not just washing/detailing but sounds like they do great jobs with wraps as well. read more

Mike is the cream of the crop when it comes to detailing. Recently got a brand new black Audi, picked it up towards the end of a long day so I didn't see, but the dealer paint prep was just unacceptable. I have some basic knowledge with auto detailing. After weighing my options I fig instead of bringing it back to the dealership and probably get a half ass job done, I'd bring it to Mike and have it done right. Had Mike so a full paint correction and apply opti coat pro. Car came out perfect, not a single swirl on black paint by job. Simply put Mike is a true master craftsman, it's no wonder he does some of the best and most exclusive cars in the area. Lastly, for those wondering, the price was very reasonable and I have no complaints about customer service. Give this business a try if you absolutely must have the best. read more

Appearance Solutions was recommended to me from another Tesla owner and after doing extensive research on other companies in California and Ohio, I ended up going with AS and I'm so glad I did. I had them do xpel ceramic tint all over and it couldn't have turned out better! When I initially came in for the tinting, one of Mike's staff members found a crack in the rear glass upon pre-work inspection. I'm glad he did because it was still under warranty with Tesla and it was replaced the rear glass for free. Had he not found it, I likely wouldn't have seen if before the warranty expired. Mike is a total class act. Brought my new m3 in for the full xpel and opticoat treatment. He delivered in stunning fashion. Don't trust your vehicle to anyone else. I'm so pleased he's currently working on my wife's MDX as well. update 11/2, MDX is looking like new again. The interior has always been a pain to keep clean with kids, and not to mention the stone white leather constantly picks up transfer from jeans etc. I can honestly say after Mike got done with the car the interior is like new. We also opted to opticoat the exterior, which, for some, might seem excessive for a 4 year old car, however cleaning is now a breeze. I spent no more than 20 minutes total on both cars this weekend with a couple of microfiber cloths and some chemical guys no rinse and both cars are spotless looking showroom new. That alone is worth the investment. I wil no longer be spending 2 hours every other weekend washing and detailing the cars. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Michael, his shop Appearance Solutions, and the phenomenal job they did with my 8 series. This is my second vehicle getting paint protection film, window tinting, and ceramic coating. My guinea pig was my 2018 Chevy Silverado which I took to another Sacramento shop. They did pretty good on the workmanship side, but the communication and warranty information was severely lacking. Spending the kind of money that a ppf and ceramic coating treatment costs, this did not sit well with me. At appearance solutions, the workmanship was even better and their communication was top notch. They gave me a realistic timeframe, provided a detailed update midway through the process, and most importantly they delivered to me my car looking even better than it had before - literally better than new. Michael treats his customers the way we all would like to be treated - with respect and in a manner that demonstrates that he is grateful for our business. Every time I buy a vehicle, I think it's the last time and that's never the way it goes. I always seem to find something else I want even more. I'm very pleased to now have a local resource in Appearance Solutions to help me take those rides to the next level. read more

I had the front clip of my Truck XPEL wrapped and the rest ceramic coated along with ceramic window tint done at Appearance Solutions in 2019 right after purchasing it. The truck still looks like new, but after having to have the windshield replaced I took it in to have the tint reapplied. While it was there I had a full detail done just to freshen it up a bit as it sits outside. I could not be happier with the results. The truck came back looking better than I thought possible. I just got back to work from picking up my car and I hope that my words can do this review justice! I called Mike at Appearance Solutions because a 5 gallon jug of water broke open in my car and completely flooded my passenger floorboard. This came at a very bad time for me because my company just announced it was closing and that my job would be ending in the very near future. The Ford dealership quoted me at nearly $1000 to have this done because of the labor involved in getting under the carpet. I explained this to Mike in hopes that they could work with me on the cost to have the water removed and they assured me that if anything it would not be as much as the dealership quote. They were very professional and understanding of my situation and told me they would give me a call in a few days once they get closer to finishing the job. Just as they explained, they reached out to me on Friday, even earlier than I expected, to give me a follow up on where my car was at in the process. It was done the next day and they followed up with both a call and a text asking me when I could pick it up. When I was able to pick it up, I was expecting to go over the paperwork with Mike and he walked me right over to my car instead. He went on to explain that it was taken care of and everything went well. Freaking out still, I was eager to hear the cost so I could figure out my financial situation. Mike went on to say that the service was complimentary on them because of my hardship, and I just about cried because of how tight things are right now. I can't express my thanks enough and will be going back for them to detail my car once my situation pans out, along with sending all my friends and family to them. It goes to show there are some good people still in this world and I am still in shock. Thank you Mike and Appearance Solutions for your great work and kind gesture! The car is dry as can be and back to normal as if nothing ever happened!! read more

I'm typically not the person to leave fantastic reviews on Yelp ( or anywhere for that matter ). I'm exceptionally anal and picky; especially with the vehicles I have owned over the years. I'm routinely teased by friends and colleagues that I set unrealistic or just plain lofty expectations when it comes to service and / or vehicle standards. With that in mind, I set off to find someone to entrust our new vehicle to. I called just about everyone in the area that specializes in Xpel film and Opti Coat. I did an enormous amount of research and selected Mike Justis at Appearance Solutions. If you want to stop reading the review now and enjoy the benefits of my research, just relax and entrust your vehicle to Mike. Mike reached out within 25 minutes to a query on Yelp. Mike is super easy to speak with and presented several different options for our Tesla Model S Signature Performance. Being super picky, I turned to multiple sources to review his work. Posts on the Tesla Motors Forums, Yelp, industry word of mouth and Instagram all yielded incredible recommendations on uber high end vehicles. Seriously, check out his Instagram... The amount of folks that entrust their high end vehicles to him is astounding. And now I can see why. Mike's service is exceptional. Mike picked up the Tesla from our home and redelivered without batting an eye. Super impressive. One minor detail that left a great impression with me on Mike's attention to detail was when Mike picked up our vehicle. He slowly took the driveway at a 45 degree angle to ensure the Tesla would not scrape and proceeded to gingerly drive away. Very professional. Mike just redelivered the Tesla today and it looks stunning! Words cannot begin to describe the attention to detail. The vehicle nose cone, fenders, hood, door handles, door sills, wheel wells, side mirrors and luggage area were all wrapped. The film edges are wrapped and absolutely flawless. The Xpel looks invisible. Opti Coat Pro+ was applied over the entire vehicle and topped off with ceramic window tint. Mike's prices are reasonable, but what sets him apart is his awesome patience and demeanor coupled with an amazing attention to detail. If you've made it this far with this review, stop reading and contact Mike. Best decision I have made and wish I would have known about Mike when we owned our Aston Martin DB9. read more

Appearance Solutions did an absolutely amazing job with my full frontal paint protection film (PPF) and ceramic coating on my new Tesla model Y. They have a 100% white glove operation... They truly go above and beyond. The attention to detail is impeccable. I dropped my car off there the same day I picked it up from Tesla... So while they were doing the PPF, they notified me if they saw any flaws in the paint. They cover your seats while working on your car so they don't get them dirty, they fully charge your car battery and make sure the temperature is ready at the time you pick it up, and they do little extras like the runners and other high traffic areas that would normally not be included in a full frontal PPF job. You know they say you get what you pay for and they definitely delivered. They take apart your headlights and your bumper to make sure the film fully covers your car, and doesn't leave exposed edges (which I'm told can fade from the sun over time if left exposed). When I was getting cost estimates on the PPF, one company told me that no one goes to the trouble of taking the lights and bumpers off to fully wrap the car... And he said, I hate to lose your business, but if they're going to do that, then that's a good deal. People come as far away as the bay area to have Appearance solutions do their work. If you need PPF, ceramic coating or ceramic tint...you have to call the owner Mike, then stop by their shop to see their work... there is no way you could choose another company after seeing how their quality work. I'm incredibly picky so it takes a lot for me to be impressed. W A special thanks to Mike, Oscar and team who did a fabulous job. read more

Do not go here for tint. After a few back and forths, it still isn't right and they also got water stains on the headliner. Mike, do not call us anymore, we're done. I'lll add this note after his comment and you can be the judge of it. See also Zoe's review, it is the same BS. Mike, the owner, is challenging person to deal with who says the right things but clearly all he really cares about is his 5 star rating on Yelp! After our first, not pleasant experience, I agreed to be fair and give him 5 stars as he PROMISED to correct it. Even after I gave him 5 stars he wasn't happy with the wording in the review and I edited it to his liking. It took some time for us to have time to get in for the final corrections which still did not resolve it; however, at this point, we are going to live with it. Over the past couple months I received some some PM's asking for more details about our experience, and I don't feel right about my review sitting here actually recommending him. So,I finally did the right thing and gave him a 1 star and actually wrote do not call. Five minutes later, I got a call, I told him I asked him not to call. He continued to text and call both our phone lines all day yesterday from his phone and other phone lines as well. Honestly, the behavior is a little scary. Ultimately, he wrote this comment where he sounds super great to work with. Do not fall for it. As I said in my original review, I can speak for the ceramic coating part of his business, but DO NOT go here for tint. His shop does a horrible job of explaining tint percentages and he has a personal bias against dark tint. Furthermore, they are sloppy and our headliner has spots because of it. read more

Unlike much of Appearance Solutions' clientele, my vehicle is not an exotic sports car or luxury sedan. However, just like their other clients, I love my 2018 Honda CR-V just the same and want to keep it in immaculate condition. I contacted every installer of clear bras and ceramic coatings within a one-hundred-mile radius of Sacramento. I'd done my homework and knew that the XPEL Ultimate Clear Bra Paint Protection Film and Opt-Coat Pro Plus were the best products on the market. Though Appearance Solutions wasn't the least expensive, they weren't overpriced either. I had no less than five separate conversations with the owner, Mike, about the products, process, and aftercare before pulling the trigger. If I didn't reach him, he returned my calls promptly. Mike clearly has a passion for his work and was the most knowledgeable of anyone I contacted. As all the reviews attest, the customer experience with Mike is first class. Two days after taking delivery, I brought him my beloved Honda. While there, I inspected his work on the Porsches and innumerable Teslas in the shop. I knew all the signs to look for in a poorly executed application and didn't find a single one. I handed over my key without a single worry. The execution of his work was flawless and my car looks amazing. Words cannot do justice to the work Mike does and the perfection of his application of the XPEL Ultimate Clear Bra. I've inspected every inch of the application and could not be happier with the investment. Mike's work is a great value when you consider the level of protection and peace of mind it gives to you. In hindsight I could have saved myself time and taken all of Appearance Solutions' incredible reviews at face value. It is obvious that each and every review was well earned. I wanted the paint on my new blue Model X to look new for a long time, and that is what has happened. I had my X wrapped with PPF about a year and a half ago when it was brand new, and it still looks brand new. Appearance Solutions was very easy to work with and was responsive to my questions and concerns. I would recommend their work to anyone who wants to take care that their car keeps looking fantastic. A little story - a few weeks after I got my X, I found a bird dropping on the hood, but neglected to clean it off for a few days. When I did remove it, I noticed a blemish where the spot had been. I was a little disappointed when this happened, but to my surprise a couple days later when I looked for the blemish I couldn't find it. The PPF had healed itself. I'm delighted that it works so well. Ongoing care of my Model X is easy. I do not take my car to a car wash; instead, I just hose it off every few months and wipe it dry with microfiber cloths. I did purchase Chemical Guys wheel wash solution and a wheel cleaning brush (sort of like a large bottle brush). Before I hose the car off, I just put half a cup of the wheel wash into a five-gallon bucket of water, dip the brush into the bucket occasionally, and use that to clean road dirt off the wheels, inside and out. I had Mike apply Xpel 1.5 years ago and was super happy with the installation. Last Thursday as I returned to my car after shopping for groceries, well distances away from other cars, some A-hole had keyed my car which I had just washed 20 minutes previous. I took some pictures and asked Mike if he could help. He gave me a replacement estimate and appointment time. When I showed up at his shop, he applied some polish compounds and removed the abrasions on the film, saving me $300!
