I was promptly waited upon and my smoothie was prepared within 5 to 10 minutes. I chose the Rockbridge Revival with "coffee protein" ( previously unbeknownst to me to be a thing!) The ambiance is a blend of the very old (historic building) and modern decorum. Sadly, I could not describe the type of music , although it wasn't too loud or obnoxious. The smoothie was $10 with an extra $2 for the coffee protein. I do recommend it and shall likely return on a subsequent visit to Lexington.

My husband and I traveled 3 hours to come here specifically for their March Bread Day, which featured pizza. Wowza, did it impress! We placed our order on arrival for our pizzas (45 minute wait, baked with love) and wandered the property with our pup and grabbed some seasonal lattes. Their vanilla rose latte was perfection! Now, onto the pizzas. These are good enough to be in any ritzy downtown Italian restaurant. Absolutely delicious. We ordered one with basil and one with pepperoni. They definitely could have poured on the basil, as there was really only sprinkles here and there. But, still good! We also pre-ordered goods that we picked up from their bread barn and got a croissant, breakfast cake and blueberry muffin to go. All delicious! A matcha latte has some interesting sweetener that didn't quite exceed my tolerance and was over coconut milk. It was a pricey lunch, but I could not accuse them of failing to deliver on what I understood the promise of the place to be.

The only available creamer was pumpkin spice which I'd never had in my life. What is a Hillel you ask? It was salmon, caper, onion, and cream cheese in a bagel for about 10 bucks, however either it was tasty or I was starving and would have enjoyed a spam sandwich. The college aged staff were reasonably friendly, accommodating, and my order was ready in a jiffy. The cafe is located on the campus of Washington & Lee University whose current president has a left-leaning agenda for its students. Not a bad deal for a quick meal if you're hungry.
