I was hungry and not in the mood to move my vehicle from the hotel parking lot as street parking in Lexington can be a challenge. I arrived at about 9AM and the only other customers were 2 college age girls who never exchanged a word with the other since they were on their phones. I ordered a Hillel and a large coffee. The only available creamer was pumpkin spice which I'd never had in my life. What is a Hillel you ask? It was salmon, caper, onion, and cream cheese in a bagel for about 10 bucks, however either it was tasty or I was starving and would have enjoyed a spam sandwich. The college aged staff were reasonably friendly, accommodating, and my order was ready in a jiffy. The cafe is located on the campus of Washington & Lee University whose current president has a left-leaning agenda for its students. Not a bad deal for a quick meal if you're hungry. The portions aren't huge, but probably more in line with quantities more conducive to health, and prices are somewhat high. PS I don't like pumpkin -spiced coffee

The only thing was that the individuals taking our order on two different days and different people seemed a little indifferent. We tried the Purple Haze and the Honey Bee Lattes. Purple haze was delicious but the Honey Bee Latte had a lot of cinnamon. We also tried their Chorizo, Sausage and Cheese Burrito with salsa. Great flavor but there was a lot more egg and not enough chorizo. They also have a lot of pastries and baked goods. We did get a chocolate muffin which was very good. Overall I would recommend, it's a cute spot.

Unfortunately, a toasted bagel with butter had the butter on the side, and thus by the time I ate my bagel it was cold and didn't butter the way I wanted it to. Their chai was a syrupy but interesting flavor that emphasized spice more than sugar; at least, the first few sips were before I clumsily dropped it. No blame for them on that. Adding a parfait to eat later was a good decision that gave me energy for the day. They had a wide menu, and while I wanted a bit more from my bagel I could certainly find a quick and easy breakfast downtown here whenever I needed it.

I had a small PB&J smoothie bowl, Golden Butter Curry Bowl, and a Chai Latte; my buddy had a smoothie bowl, Buffalo Tofu Wrap, and a fresh pressed apple juice that was a lovely light chartreuse color. We were going to eat on the nice covered patio but the thunderstorm moved in and the rain was lashing in so we ate inside comfortably situated watching the light show outside. After eating we shopped for supplies in the attached natural grocery then headed home in the sunshine.

The result was robustly flavored and fit my need for an early meal. The location is part of a mixed residential and retail complex that was a bit odd to navigate. They also had a bunch of smoothies and such, and I noted one customer who actually asked for the non-dairy nut milk to be replaced with dairy milk. I found it amusing that we've gotten to a point where someone ordering food has to explain that they're not a vegan. If you are avoiding dairy, however, there's plenty for you here, and I could not expect a small place in a town like this to fill its niche much better.
