Literally, a fade, and maybe like 3 inches on top. Nothing too crazy. I texted Karen, and she got back to me right away. Sent her pics, and she said she felt positive about being able to do it. She really took the best care of me. She used a super gentle bleach that didn't even turn me orange! I couldn't believe it, I was practically blonde within minutes of that stuff being on my head. She even put this oil on the inside of the cap that helped maintain the integrity of my hair so it wouldn't break. Hooked me up with a primer and seal with the toner. Not only did she get me to the color I wanted - it literally turned out better than I imagined. I'm super stoked, and will definitely be coming back here. Aside from the rad job, Karen is so damn cute and sweet! She felt like fam. The other stylists there were super nice too! The vibe of this place is very welcoming, and not pretentious in the slightest considering how rad this salon is designed and decorated. Great style. I relocated to San Diego from Chicago, where I had an amazing hair stylist. I have thick, naturally curly hair...and do not dye or touch the color...so when I get my hair "done" it is literally just a wash/cut/style (so I can't speak on behalf of the color or other services at this joint). I learned of this salon by word of mouth from a co-worker who had found it through word of mouth from one of her old co-workers. This is a small two chair salon, owned by an awesome woman named Chrissy. It's located right in the middle of La Jolla, and though it is street parking...I've never run into an issue of not finding a spot right on the street in front of the place. The first time I went in, I was very hesitant and not looking forward to the visit. I've had some awful hair cut experiences in the past...so it's always a risky thing for me to try a new place. Luckily, Chrissy made me feel at ease the moment I walked in the door! She has never tried to make me do anything crazy with my cuts (since I always just want a trim...not trying to find a new "look" right now). I did ask for her suggestion on changing the way my bangs lay...and she worked with me to figure out exactly how I wanted them. They turned out just how I pictured they would! Some highlights: -She is extremely accommodating with times...and truly works with you to find a time that works. I can generally get in within one to two days of calling. -Friendly but not fake. She talks as much as you let her. I have seen her finish up with some other clients who didn't seem to be as chatty as I am. She appeared to respect that and had limited conversation. Whereas, with me, I enjoy having a conversation the whole time. -She really takes her time!! Like I mentioned, I have extremely thick and curly hair. More often than not, I've had stylists compliment me on my beautiful hair...yet comment on how thick it is and when it's time to dry it...well, they usually don't take the time to dry it ALL the way and style it appropriately. Chrissy does! This is key for me. She is patient (I mean, come on, did I choose to have thick hair that takes forever to dry?!?). -Price is not bad. I mean, it's not cheap...but it's a quality wash/cut/style. I think it's about $65...could be slightly off... -It's a cute and welcoming salon...very quaint :)

Karmella made me feel so comfortable and made my thin hair look great. Weeks later I went back to put a few extensions back in and she made them blend perfectly.
