I got multiple bids and the Be James estimate was very reasonable. What really sold me was the foreman, Roman, who reviewed the project to provide the estimate. Roman was extremely knowledgeable and offered ideas on color and explained the timing of the job, etc. Workers Anatoly and Nikolai did a truly excellent job on the deck from demolition and debris removal to installing the Trek. I have owned this house for three decades and Larrry is the most responsible owner I have ever worked with. I had to add a change order to replace under the deck lights and it was seamless and affordable. I highly recommend the Be James company - they have integrity and professionalism and expertise! I had a thoroughly positive experience. Thank you Be James team!

I will definitely be using their service again and will recommend them to others.

Long overdue review! We hired United Pro Handyman (led by Ilya) in January 2024 for a remodel,…read moreincluding relocating an entry door, adding a partition wall, closing off a fireplace, removing built-ins, interior painting, and exterior stucco work. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The main issue arose with the exterior stucco work, which began cracking within days. Ilya sent his guy to fix the problem and his guy just applied another layer of stucco to cover the cracks! After one week, the cracks became evident and had worsened. My husband and I have decided to go with a different contractor to fix this issue. I had informed ILya about this and he initially agreed to reimburse us for a stucco patch. During this time, we decided to legalize the remodel. From the city inspection, we found out that the problem wasn't just superficial--underneath the stucco, we discovered improper waterproofing, incorrect lathing, and screws that did not comply with California code. This oversight could have led to much larger structural issues in the future. When I explained that this was not simply a patch job but required a complete redo of waterproofing, lathing, and screw replacements, Ilya became unresponsive. Alex, the manager, visited our site multiple times during the project in January and even guaranteed a one-year warranty, promising to provide a formal contract after we made full payment. Despite repeated follow-ups with Andrei, the estimator, we never received that contract. If you're considering United Pro Handyman, I strongly advise you to demand a binding quote or contract that includes all warranties before making any down payment. Be cautious of their "choice" between a 10% discount but you pay for the materials or no discount but they will shoulder the cost of materials--insist that they cover materials, especially for larger projects. They purchased unnecessary items, including insulation pads that were never used, resulting in a complete waste of money. As of today, our newly stucco wall is now ready to be painted. We passed all inspections and it feels so good to know everything was done correctly. We regret our decision to work with United Pro Handyman and recommend others proceed with extreme caution.

CaliBuilder team did a complete bathroom remodeling for us. It took longer than expected (~ 6…read moremonths all together), but we loved the final result! This turned out to be a very detailed and complicated project with many moving parts. We ripped out the entire old bathroom including walls, ceiling, the floor, and redid everything from scratch. We also repositioned the bathtub, vanity, and redid the entire plumbing system. The project manager, Azeen was very responsive, involved and caring. Along the way, Azeen was always available to answer any of our project/progress related questions, to address our concerns, and to discuss next steps. Azeen jumped at resolving any issues, and she also helped with finished product selection, provided her advice and guidance on design. It was a pleasure to work with her. Despite some bumps, and challenges, which alway come up with any construction project, overall we are very happy that we've selected CaliBuilder for this project and we are fully satisfied with our new beautiful bathroom. One note - we've realized that the project success does not only depend on the professional and detail-oriented project manager but also on the skill and attention to detail of the workmen. Initially we had someone who did not seem to be as focused and often produced results below expectation, but then the new crew was amazing! We highly recommend this team!

We approached Calibuilder for our bathroom remodel after hearing great reviews from our neighbors…read more We worked with Azeen as our project manager. At the time, I was 32 weeks pregnant and hoping to have the remodel completed before our baby arrived. Azeen came over, listened carefully to our needs, and patiently discussed all the details with us. Our project was a like-for-like bathroom remodel, and Calibuilder's quote was competitive compared to other companies we considered. Knowing that our neighbors also had a great experience gave us confidence in choosing them. Throughout the project, we had a group chat with Azeen, where we documented all the finer details to ensure nothing was missed. This was incredibly helpful in keeping everyone aligned as the project progressed. Azeen also recommended a few stores for finishes and tiles--we went with Porcelanosa and are very happy with the final result. She prioritized our project, which we really appreciated given the baby could arrive any day. While there were a few things that initially didn't turn out the way we had hoped, calibuilder was responsive and came back to address and fix them. If you're particular about the small details, like we are, we recommend clearly communicating them upfront and documenting everything. Also, be sure to discuss any potential additional costs for smaller tasks that may not be included in the original quote to avoid surprises later. Overall, we're very satisfied with how our bathroom turned out.
