Since my review, the office staff has completely changed. I should have updated sooner. It's been fantastic for about a year. They really changed the way they interact with patients, they updated their response time in the portal, and they're much kinder. Dr. Jeter remains the best psychiatrist I have ever seen--the most emphatic, knowledgeable, and supportive doctor I have. He really fights for me if something is denied or if I need a referral for something. I now whole-heartedly recommend this place based on my experiences. read more

Been going here a long time just seems to get worse. For 1 fees are insane. I've called multiple times past month. Sometimes get an answer others they are on lunch. And good luck if you leave a voicemail like they say cause they never call back. I had my psychiatrist cancel an appointment due to technical issues every time I call to rescheduled they say, When you miss an appointment you get charged $100 im like yeah makes sense but I didn't miss one. They don't communicate with the psychiatrist I guess lol. They still keep trying to charge me even though I have a voicemail of the psychiatrist assistant saying they had to cancel due to technical issues. Other than that none of the people at the desk do anything but tell you to use patient portal where You hope you get a response that usually will take days- a week. Assistant people never answer. Honestly a mess. Refilling prescriptions is a pain. I feel like I'm accused of having a ton of prescription all the time for some reason when none of anything I take I want to and none of it was prescribed by them and none of it is addictive. Idk just very un organized over the past few years. Would not reccomend. I have been seeing Dr. Nard for about a year now and he is a wonderful doctor and so helpful with treating my ADHD. He actually listens to me, my concerns, doesn't talk down to me, and is highly knowledgeable about the medications he prescribes. They offer virtual care which has saved me so much time and effort. I highly recommend him to anyone searching for a good psychiatrist in the Orlando area. About the office, it's neat and clean, all of the front staff I've interacted with have been good. Parking can be a bit tricky to find but I mostly do virtual care so that's not usually an issue. read more

I had an extremely frustrating experience here. I made it very clear from the beginning that I did not want a holistic approach to my care. Despite this, the nurse practitioner I saw completely ignored my concerns and continued to push a holistic treatment method anyway. I filed a formal complaint about being dismissed and not listened to. The response? They tried to assign me to two more providers, both of whom openly advertise holistic approaches in their bios--one even emphasizing "inner peace" as a treatment focus. That is not medicine, and it's not what I asked for. To top it off, the original provider quietly changed her bio after my complaint--swapping out the word "holistic" for "comprehensive"--without acknowledging any wrongdoing or actually changing her approach. It felt like a PR move, not a commitment to patient care. I ultimately discharged myself. If you want providers who actually listen, respect boundaries, and stick to evidence-based care, look elsewhere. read more

Truly the worst mental healthcare I've received. My psychiatrist was Dr. Nard and the way he treated me in meetings was incredibly disappointing. He blamed me for being assaulted & raped as a child, then stuffed me up with random drugs claiming they would 'help' everything but he made things so much worse. I already deal with intense nightmares and flashbacks so to hear from a mental health professional that it was my fault that I was raped AT 9 YEARS OLD was incredibly saddening. Please, if you are struggling with mental health, don't go here. I firmly believe that those struggling with very serious issues should receive all the love and support in the world, no one should be blamed or ridiculed EVER for being a survivor of sexual assault. I called a few times . They never got back to me and a week later my son killed himself .I came to find out the front desk people never told Dr. Nard I called . My fiancé was seeing a doctor here who he loved. However, they billed him incorrectly and ran his wrong insurance and REFUSE to fix it. They denied him access to his medication unless he paid the $1k he "owes them". How do you run someone's insurance wrong and refuse to take fault or fix the issue? He's been battling with them and insurance for months and in the process these people sent him to collections because of THEIR mistake. Reading through the reviews now, I see he is not the only person they've done this to. DO NOT make the same mistake he did and just find a different practice there was plenty of good psychiatrists out there. Not sure how someone hasn't sued and put them out of business but now. I have never encounter a mental health facility that cares more about an apology than the health of the patient. My daughter is 21 and is going through a lot in her life. She saw a doctor here and then discharged herself from services. Humm...you know that mental health patients don't always make rational decisions and yes she was rude. She was hurting and couldn't see straight. Well, fast forward 2 months. She is ready to begin treatment again, and the office refuses to see her because she discharged herself and was rude. So, you are going to take a patient that has mental issues, trust issues, and more and make them apology before you will consider to see them again. Compound her feeling of lack of trust and worthlessness by someone who is suppose to help. When the patient is crying, feels worthless, and is begging for help, you want an apology?!?!?!?! To make matters worse, the office/same doctor sees her sister. They know us, their lives! How in the hell to take someone who is at their worst asking for help and turn your back on them. If you are wondering why people commit suicide, this is one example of why right here! Excuses ranging from "forgeting" to provide scripts, leaving me with two or three days without medication at all, and prescribing the WRONG dosage. When I brought it up, she used this pandemic to avoid taking accountability, all while saying "we're in this together." Ultimately the neglect and INCOMPETENCE made me feel like she was using this as a way to force me to find another doctor and stop seeing her; which is sad because before Nelson (who I saw for 1.5 years) I was seeing Dr. Harden for over 8 years. I deserved better. For anyone else who experiences incompetence or neglect like I did, gather all dates that are relevant (doctor visits, refill dates, etc.) and submit a complaint like I did because management will not do anything. read more

I be been an exemplary patient for 3 years. But I needed to ask a question about medication to my provider. The office manager, Alex, intercepted the calls five or six times and informed me that I could not ask a question unless I paid $135. I have insurance that can pay for my visits, but I've been paying cash because I like the provider, but there is no way I am going to pay to ask a simple question from my provider. Mental health professional here. New to Central Florida, I was appalled at the lack of service of any office I called for psychiatric care. Nobody called me back, I waited 3 months to meet with a dill hole who was rude, then I got the run-around with CVS for using my out-of-state doctor. All this being said, to say this... I am okay with the 48-hour rule. I am okay with appointments running 15 minutes behind. I am here for the meds, not the customer service. I had an AMAZING psychiatrist in Texas, but if you canceled within the 48 hours you have to pay. I accept this is the cost of good psychiatric care. I called APG Health on a Wednesday and had an appointment within a week with Jessie Maynes, RNP. She was courteous, informative, increased my dose politely, and talked about scheduling for one month with the plan to start extending it to 2 months and then 3 months in between appointments when we adjust to the new dose. What else could I ask for? So happy to have found a comfortable place to get psychiatric care! read more

You might not understand them, but at least you would have a human who would try to assist. My wife has been under their care and has had a terrible reaction to medication they prescribe. If I could give zero stars, I would, seeing as this place scared me off before even becoming a patient. I scheduled an appointment before going on a vacation and when I returned, the Friday before my Monday appointment, I called to say due to life circumstances I would not be able to come in Monday. The snide receptionist told me I would be charged a late cancellation fee since I hadn't called 48 hours in advance -- news to me. I figured if I didn't show up or called an hour before my appointment I would be charged, but a full three days? Granted, they didn't count the weekend, but it still seemed excessively harsh. I let the receptionist know I was out of the country and literally could NOT call out until that morning. She didn't really react to this, just restated what the policy was and that I'd be charged $75. Speaking with her was like negotiating with a brick wall, so I asked to be speak with someone else, to which she replied there was no one else and the assistant of the counselor I was to be seeing was the one directing her. Great, I said, can I speak to the assistant? No, of course not. The annoyed-sounding receptionist put me on hold three or four times, no doubt lambasting me to whomever else was in the office, before telling me she can reschedule me to Wednesday. Not an option, I advised her, since they only work about 6 hours a day and I have a job. I again reiterated my extenuating circumstance of having no way to call until Friday morning, and she again acted like she didn't really care and nothing could be done. For a place that is in business to treat people with anxiety issues or other mental illnesses, I'm appalled at the lack of compassion and understanding that was delivered to me. The receptionist was, in short, a bitch. She made it clear she wanted me off the phone and would be charging me the $75 for services NOT rendered no matter what I said. APG can have my money they DIDNT earn, and I'll chalk this up as a lesson and hopefully a warning to anyone else to wants to be treated here: don't kid yourself into thinking they care about you or your health -- they care about your money. read more

Yep the reviews are true! Visited APG healthcare today for my initial appointment which was scheduled for 11:15. I explained to their admin numerous times that I have a very strict work schedule and can only miss time during the day on my lunchbreak. Thus, it was important that my appointment started on time. They told me OK and to fill out all of my paperwork before I came in in order to expedite the process. I brought everything filled out and my mom even called and provided them her CC for today and future payments. Despite all of this, the RNP I was supposed to see (Gilah) was not ready when I arrived to start the appointment. Nor was she ready at 11:30 which was 15 minutes past when I was scheduled. I'm no stranger to scheduling so had I been 15 minutes late I am sure they would've charged me the full price of the appointment or atleast the aforementioned $50. Not only that, Gilah tried to make it seem as though it were my fault that they weren't able to work with my schedule. You get paid to see me. You should work with my schedule or atleast have the decency to not try and place blame on me and then make excuses for yourself. If you don't usually run late then why are you running late for my initial visit. Thankfully their office manager was nice enough to refund my $145 which by the way they were going to charge me for a ten minute visit...if I wanted. No thanks. I'll take my life and my business elsewhere. It's really not that much to accommodate a work schedule for what you charge. read more

Unbelievable experience. Been a patient for a few years and have been putting up with the ridiculous 'backoffice' the entire time until recently. I missed an appointment, first one, and was forced to pay $50 due to the missed appointment. So, i made a new appointment. i get it, i spaced on the appointment. Then, since i'm late on meds, I needed a refill and they refused to give me refills (only until my new appointment) unless i paid another $35. Wait, what? Withholding critical medications until i paid a fee, just because I missed an appointment? WTF. Keep looking for a practice that has their act together, I know i will. read more

Dr Mayne has zero real regard for her clients and almost every single appointment would just say well let's just keep you where you're at on meds. Then I told her I need an adjustment and for over 4 visits straight not listened to a single concern and said we'd address next visit. And every single appointment I've ever had my prescriptions have been sent to the wrong pharmacy. I have updated it with their staff but they're just as cold if not colder than Dr. Mayne. Then I need a tablets because insurance didn't cover caplets and that became an issue every single time. They told me they would fix it never did so after my appointment I would be out of meds and sometimes an additional week to get my medication. I've shown up to their office crying and saying I'm not leaving until you fix my medication and then argue with me instead of help me. They are the worst people to be dealing with depression and mental health. This place gave me a complex. And the very last time when I finally had enough of not addressing my issue Dr. Mayne pulled a power trip and refuse to give me medication after paying $140 for the appointment. read more

I've read a few of the negative reviews by other patients and I have to completely disagree with their assessment. This is my second time as a patient of APG and while their office staff can be busy, they have been nothing but helpful and polite. This practice has grown tremendously over the years since I've been a patient which is the reason for their cancellation policies. If you're not going to make it, cancel the appointment so that someone else can have the slot. That's all they ask. Coming back as a new patient again I had to fill out all the new patient forms over again. Their forms were very easy to find online. I loved that I was able to fill it in electronically and then print the forms. I hate having to write by hand the same things over and over. When I arrived, I handed the admin the bundle, paid and was checked in all under five minutes. That's efficiency! Upon requesting a new patient visit, I was given appointment within two days. Other practices can take up to four weeks to see a new patient. I loved that I didn't have to wait long. The only negative is their parking. It is really small and difficult to get in and out of. Not really a negative but it is worth noting, because they are a growing practice, their office can be very busy and a lot of people shuffling around. It can be slightly overwhelming being that this is a mental health practice. read more

I must say that Felicia Turner needs to seek pyschiatric help for herself. You MUST pre-pay your co-pay prior to your appointment or she will not see you and your appointment is cancelled. I did not receive the co-pay email prior to my last appointment - therefore, I didn't pay it, and when it came time to my appointment, she cancelled. I told her "sorry, I didn't get the co-pay email and I forgot it. I will pay right now." NOPE - she cancelled the appointment on the spot and told me to look for a new provider since I "refused" to follow her rules. Mind you - this was the first time this had happened. She is rude, disrespectful, has a major chip on her shoulder about something. Even her billing office agrees that she is constantly behind in sending out the co-pay emails. I've been a patient of APG for eleven years. All personnel at this facility from office to professional staff have been superior. DOCTORS answer all calls immediately and their solutions to the mental health issues have always been correct. Before becoming a patient of A PG no drs. had offered the right medications or counseling. Dr. Nadjafi did both in an expedient manner. I was awed that the medication was perfect without having to try numerous drugs as I had been through in the past. F. Bodenmiller counseled me through traumatic events in my life that upon completion no longer effects me with deep sadness and guilt. For awhile now I have been seeing J. Mayne twice a year who makes sure I am having no issues. Her warmth and genuine interest is an appointment I look forward to. I've read the Reviews and I truly do not understand where (or how) the negativity stems. Sure, there are rules in place - just like in life. I've been a patient of Dr. Jeter's for about 2 years and dealt with the office staff the same amount of time. I can not say enough great things about Dr. Jeter - I highly recommend him - he is understanding and compassionate and encourages feedback and questions if you don't understand something. Seriously, absolute best mental health professional I have ever had the privilege of dealing with. Additionally, I haven't had any problem with the office staff, whatsoever. Third follow up: After writing my last review I have received a letter informing me that I have been discharged because if my dissatisfaction with the service. I also got a bill for the late fee they said they waived. it was signed by my provider Gilah Weismann (who this wasn't about, it was about management but I can definitely imagine them threatening her job and well being if she didn't sign the discharge letter) Way to prove my point for me, APG. This three part review on this business had its spice of "wronged customer" all too familiar on the Internet. I'll admit to being harsh and emotional, mostly because this has to do with my health. I can deal with being screwed over when purchasing services or entertainment but this is my life we're talking about here. I've been seeing Dr. William Jeter for about two years and even though I have moved out of Orlando to Clermont, I still make the drive to see him that's how satisfied I am with his care. He seems to genuinely care about my issues and my treatment. We make sure we find the right combination of medications and make sure I tolerate them. He takes an interest in my personal life outside of the ailments I see him for. The office is a popular one and like it's been said before Orlando is a big city, but Jeter is worth it. The front desk lady Marjorie is always very sweet and personable as is the rest of the staff. read more

I do not believe one person in this office has any empathy with patients. The focus is on charging you to fill prescriptions and to reschedule appointments if you are more than 5 minutes late. I drove one hour to get to my appointment and encountered an accident on the turnpike. When I called to explain that I would be a few minutes late I was told I would have to reschedule and pay $50. Patients are treated like they are numbers in a clinical trial whether they are participating in one or not! Really wish you had negative ratings for this type of health provider. read more

This place is awful. I can not get my medication because they Want me to do their job. I have to get the pre-authorization form the insurance company. The insurance company told me that they have to get the information from the Doctor and not me. So I guess they are too busy to take care of their patients. That is what APG told me. They Are too Busy to do this. Even thought it is a requirement from the insurance company. I was told that the insurance company will give me the Run Around. It Seems like APG Health is the one Giving me the Run A Round. Then I tried to call my doctor and again got the Run A Round, sent to the voice mail of the Assistant, Lordes. I would strongly recommend that anyone avoid this place at all cost! On paper, each Dr. has some impressive attributes, but it became clear very quickly that they were interested in their image and money! They treat people like garbage and only really want to help people that will benefit their personal name. The Practice Director is much more concerned with his image as a Doctor, rather than finding the right treatment for a patient. This would not be a office to go to if you are seeking cutting edge treatment, outside the box thinking, open minded professionals and respectful human beings. They even lied to me to get me into my second appointment where it was clear they had no intentions of keeping me as a patient. But you can believe that they bill the full amount to insurance and collected my copay for an appointment that was gear towards telling me why they wouldn't be my DR. These people are the exact reason mental illness treatment is progressing at such a slow place and they should be held accountable for falsely filing a claim. First, in regards to other negative reviews, APG has these rules in place (2 day advance notice of cancelling an appointment) so they can provide service to everyone that needs it. An office as popular as APG has a lot of clients and they can only see so many patients in a single day but they also want to fill in as many spots as possible, and Orlando is a very large city, so I can't knock them any points for that. They are a business and by people not giving proper notice to cancel an appointment (of which APG will always call and/or leave a message to remind me so I can cancel without being charged if needed), they are losing money and the possibility of helping those needing more immediate care. They are in the business of helping people, but they are still a business. They have a lot of costs. Nearly any counseling or mental health care office has these same rules. I have been seeing Dr. William Jeter since about July 2015 and he has been great. He is very intelligent, calm and seems to genuinely care about my well-being and helping me find a solution to my problem (depression/anxiety). He treats me with respect. I've been to several different offices and psychiatrists and many of them will talk down to you or act very flippant before they even know you and and what you're dealing with. Many people with mental illnesses are hard to deal with, so in one hand, i can't blame psychiatrists and counselors for acting that way because they're worn out from seeing so much negativity on a daily basis and/or dealing with people that continue to do more damage to themselves through drug abuse against doctors' wishes, which I imagine can be frustrating, but there are many of us that are fairly normal and just have problems with sleep, depression, or anxiety that have come out of nowhere and we just want help and relief. My treatment has been a process of elimination and not everything we've tried has worked but that is no fault of Dr. Jeter but rather my own particular problem that we are working together to solve. He is just as willing to hear suggestions from me and the research I've done along with giving me his professional opinion and advice, and also recommends other forms of treatment such as looking into CBT, doing breathing techniques, exercising, giving yourself mental breaks and times to relax and reflect. Best doctor/psychiatrist I've ever had. I am so thankful that I can always call if i'm having issues and Lourdes (Dr. Jeter's assistant, who is very pleasant) is able to relay my message to him whenever he is free and i'm guaranteed a call back within 48 hours. There have been occasions where I reacted very poorly to a medication and was able to have Lourdes/Dr. Jeter either send in a prescription immediately or schedule another appointment. In emergency scenarios, I was usually able to get another appointment scheduled within the week, usually within 3 or 4 days. Most other offices do not give you that kind of guarantee or service. I highly recommend APG Health and Dr. Jeter and will continue to go as long as is necessary until I can get my issues resolved. read more
