Cindy has a wealth of experience and resources to share, and I really like her approach as well. She's very open, easy to talk to, and she tells me like it is-- which is what I personally need. We used to meet in person, but since the beginning of the pandemic, I switched to virtual video sessions, which have worked out quite well. I find that I get the most out of our sessions together when I commit to doing the homework and also trying the other resources and techniques she recommends. I know what you are thinking...don't judge!! I am a true believer that you have to take care of yourself mentally. Just like we are constantly learning to keep our brain and creativity flowing, we constantly have to take care and learn about ourselves. I went to the Life Skills center to take a class on "taking time for you"! I am a giver, I am a caretaker, I love being needed and offering guidance and support. However, sometimes I forget that I have to pay attention to myself as well as others. So, the timing was right and I took the opportunity to take this class. It is a small class of about 8 of us attending and 2 people guiding. It follows a book so it is an 8 week course - 1 chapter a week. It has encouraged us to journal and look inside ourselves. It has been wonderful learning about everyone in my group and we are making great bonds and new friendships. I am learning more about myself than I ever would have thought and it feels great. I know some people are scared to ask for help but whether you realize it or not, you can never have too much support. This center offers tools to help you improve your life. Take them up on this! There are groups/classes for every age and various life subjects! Check it out! Even if you just want a book suggestion, give them a call, email them! Life Skills Resource Group has been invaluable to me in regaining my creative and overall mental focus. LSRG provides excellent seminars in changing and understanding your life. These fantastic sessions are conducted in a small group enviroment and reveal where you are and where you need to be. Cindy Fabico, LMHC and Instructor Karen Walsh, do a tremendous job of facilitating these sessions. I cannot say enough good things from being involved. Cindy Fabico I guess I could start with the positives. The office is nice, and she has always taken me on time. That's about it. She seems to have a cold demeanor, I really don't have any other way to describe it other than to say she comes off sort of "bitchy". But I gave her a few tries. I've been to plenty of therapists before, and I've loved a good portion of them. Unfortunately I had to move again, so I had to stop seeing my old one, and of course this office spoke highly of Cindy. She seems too concerned with her own opinions and her own personal way of how she'd do things, rather than putting herself in her patients shoes and helping them find something that works with THEIR specific lifestyle and beliefs. Too many times she has thrown out the line "I'm a professional, I know what I'm talking about". And how if I want help, I should listen to her. And this was all in the first session. She comes off very abrasive. Not my style of counseling I suppose. To pay $100+ dollars for 50 minutes and have my therapist tell me to "be quiet" isn't going to work for me. I'm paying YOU, lady. You can listen to me for a second without getting rude with me. Or you should be able to at least. I've never had a therapist come at me such hostility before. Not only that but there were so many awkward pauses I've never encountered before, and she insists on giving me physical health and nutrition advise, which she is not certified to do so. I'm considering just doing the two hour drive to my previous therapist after seeing this lady. She has a rather hard approach that I don't see working too well with certain individuals, such as myself. read more

I started seeing Cindy as my life coach and therapist in January of this year and my stress level and mindset has improved dramatically. I had been seeing another therapist in the area before starting with Cindy and I wasn't seeing any improvement. After seeing Cindy only a few times I was already feeling better and starting to have hope once again. She is such an intelligent, thoughtful and patient counselor.
