She was extremely rude and laughed at me. I felt really hostile energy over the phone. I have been planning on looking for a new gym and know for a fact I wouldn't want to go to this place so thank you phoebe.

I recently had to switch gyms after my old gym (French Riviera) closed down unexpectedly. Luckily,…read morethey made arrangements for us to workout at EMAC for a month while we were finding a new gym. Unluckily, French had somehow messed up my membership, so EMAC didn't let me workout there but let my wife (we were only a family plan at French). I didn't understand it, but I have my theories about what French was doing. I didn't feel EMAC handled it well, but it's not their fault. So I tried EMAC, and really enjoyed it, so did my wife. It's a little smaller than French Riviera and LA Fitness, has less equipment than them, but definitely has the essential equipment you would need for your workouts. Everything from rowing, to oly lifts, to traditional weightlifting, to green space for crossfit or HIIT workouts. They even have classes that are included in the membership. And it's never too busy to find space or equipment to use. They weren't able to give me the same discount French Riviera did, so we are basically paying twice as much for this gym, but hey, that's life. I'd definitely recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

We attended the Surrender Yoga class with Heidi, and it was such a good experience. The class was relaxing but also really effective it opened me up and helped me stretch in ways I didn't even realize I needed. Heidi was calming, knowledgeable, and made the atmosphere feel welcoming. After class, we sat in the sauna for about 15 minutes, which was the perfect way to wind down. Before we left, my friend gave me a full tour of the facility. She showed me the different floors, the daycare area, locker rooms, pool area, pickleball courts, and the basketball court. Overall, it was a great experience, and the space felt clean, upscale, and well worth checking out.

The sauna is now closed and I went to an employee, Sam, and began expressing my concerns to the constant issues with the sauna. End of it Sam argued, didn't care and said it is my choice to be a member and I could find somewhere else. Sam doesn't understand I do my chemo treatment Monday afternoon and my routine includes coming to the gym for mind body and spirt before the infusion center. This is not about a sauna thing this is about a routine I've been doing for a year and some employee with zero care. Sam didn't know and doesn't care because Sam is all about Sam. Anyway end of the day Sam is right. I can choose any gym and just start a new Monday routine there. Please don't hire anymore like Sam. I just spoke to the manager who took time to hear me. Thank you for listening and hearing my words. She also shared with me her father's journey and hers as a caregiver. Real convo with a caring professional. As long as there is management in place like her this gym will only get better. Thanks lifetime and thanks Sam.

Church Health YMCA - Wanna see the health of my church?

It's time now to share the wealth I'm posting this at night…read morewith stealth So you've all been waiting To see my Gym rating I'm giving 5 stars to Church Health If your church does not constantly demand donations, then your Church Health is probably good. If they are always asking for money, then either your Church Health is bad, or your Church Head is greedy. Or both. One of the better YMCA facilities I have found anywhere in the country with a shiny brand-new locker room and a lot of really shiny brand new things. They have cool combination lock concepts and it is actually very easy to use, and there are about 7,000 sets of instructions posted all over the locker room just in case you forget the very simple straightforward way of locking it up - as opposed to Louisville where they have lockers that basically just lock your stuff away and never give them back until you call the manager to come and let you in. Anyway I was happy that they had a cable machine even though it wasn't the best one. There is no chest exercise machine but they had a little bit of everything else and even though they're using a cheaper not-so-great company to provide the equipment it hardly ever gets used to it's all in very good working condition for the most part. The weights are the kind that I don't really like but at least nobody is hardly ever using them, and they're in front of the mirror and they have a few benches here so I'd say the gym has done pretty well for itself. I think it's a fantastic facility that just needs some more people to come and join to keep it going and justify all the good stuff they have here. One of the thing that it needs though is better parking. It's so hard to find parking out here, and then a long walk to the door and up the steps to get into the facility. Better to use the elevator if you're carrying a lot or not great at walking. It also has ridiculously friendly employees and I really appreciate that. They were extremely nice to me and I would definitely come back and use this particular YMCA in future especially considering that parking is free here if you can actually find it, whereas it's expensive downtown. Somewhere between 4 and 5, but I'll go with 5 because they're so nice and more people should be members.

InsideOut is a cool gym. It's small and hidden, but I think members enjoy that about it…read more I visited once for a tour and another time on a guest pass to try out a TRX class. The gym was very clean, staff was welcoming, and you tell that folks really get to know each other. The TRX class was amazing! I think the instructor adjusted a bit for having a few newbies (which really pissed off one of the regulars. She groaned and complained for half the class... seriously) but that didn't mean it was easy. TRX classes are normally pretty pricey, so it's cool that members can attend these classes, along with yoga, spinning, rowing, and Zumba without paying additional fees. My cons are the size, weekend hours, and variety of classes. The gym is pretty small. I need a bit more room and maybe a sauna or pool. Also, the weekend hours are very condensed and I don't think I'm their target demographic with the classes offered. I'm more into HIIT, boot camp, and barre classes than spinning and rowing, which take up a big chunk of their class schedule. Classes must also be scheduled in person through sign up sheets and members can't register or cancel online. Overall, it's not for me, but I would recommend folks checking this place out. It's got a great central location and lots to offer if you're looking for a welcoming community.

A small gym means personal attention, people who know your name, accountability!!! It also means having to sign up for classes (which I don't mind, since it makes you accountable), and less equipment and space. When I signed up, I asked questions. I asked about busy times, I asked about slow times. I made sure that they would have equipment and space available to me when I needed it. I don't just sign up for gym memberships and not go...I have been at different hours on different days. I have never had a problem finding a piece of equipment to use. They have kettle bells, and machines, and medicine balls. They have small stretching rooms with foam rollers and ab rollers. I don't think there is anything that I lack in this gym. If you need a lot of space (for whatever reason), you would know that this is not the place for you when you walk in the door. BUT it's definitely bigger than you think it is. There are plenty of small rooms, and they will let you bring the weights into the small rooms if you would like :-) I think the most important thing you can take from this review...ask questions. Make sure you find the right gym for you!! Whatever that may be!
